Yeah, I prefer more real characters too :) You've meant Dark Blue Kiss? I'll check this right after drama I'm currently watching^^
Oh, I think that's too much to call it "passive homophobia". I don't really understand thatissue. (never met somebody that insisted "uke must be like woman-psychologically) Maybe it came from shoujo mangas? Same target, same fluffiness, similar stories, only girl has penis and no boobsXD and the authors are women - it's veeery hard to put yourself in other gender's shoes (however that's not the excuse) + maybe they think viewer's (girl's and women) have to have something to relate to.And now dramas are copying it... Sexist yes. Sad but true I don't see really 100% equality in hetero relationships. So maybe they want to subconciously unwind?
IDK what you're talking about. Honestly the stares the two actors shared throughout this show beats even the best…
Stares? what stares? sorry I missed itXD Oh, do you have something to recommend? I wrote this is my first (or one of the very first) korean BL drama. But sad to hear all of them "never end well" - I'm also not a fan of angst:/

I've always thought yaoi-(big)fans have seme-uke obsession;D Annoying... when the guy acts more girly than the girliest girl you've ever seen - I dropp then.
As for calling "wife" it doesn't trigger me that much in fanfiction world. As I have no clue about thai I might assume that they are using some genderless word for describing a spouse. Funny thing that "we" can take that gay couple are talking to each other with "husband/wife", while les couple I believe it'll be only "wife". Maybe we're in the process of getting used to there're husband&husband couple ane wife&wife so it will be just normal.

Totally agree (I've added some clarification already). I've noticed, for example, thai pattern: hetero turns gay (but he likes to say he's not gayXD happens not only in lakorns), one of them play guitar, living together after few months, ex-girlfriend is a must, groundless jealousy... I watch them from time to time bc I looooove the language:D also sometimes they show world where being gay is just accepted. Such normal world when a guy can talk to his close friends about his feelings if he fell for another guy, or another group of (male) friends will help their friend to woo a guy. I read that Thais are very accepting, ofc it can't apply to the every one of them, but mostly (but I don't know if that's true or to what extent). I love such content, it brings my mood up. So I forgive overacting (trying to laugh from it), boring parts, cliches and lack of logic and lack of showing complicated emotions. - I'm not an expert of thai dramas, please remember;) I may sound very leniet but there are story points I can't stand:D that's another story though...
Koreans, normally they do about 1-hour episodes, but BL? 10min:D It feels more like an experiment... but they…
Some misunderstanding here. I wasn't saying lakorns are ideal dramas and everyone need to learn from them, lol ;D I meant only romantic scenes when thais nailed it. As for whole... it's just "low" (not offending), light genere that should be fun and BL-entertainter. Were Your Eyes Linger was my first BL-korean drama and I had hopes they do better in those aspects that lakorns lack - cause I know they can do it (like more real-feel for example). And I got weird content with master-slave-bodyguard (why even he needed a "bodyguard" who was the same age as him, and was living with him - only two of them?). And not convincing romance between main "couple". Their best scenes were where they trained judo XD At the end Kang Gook made very strange outlook's change...
Koreans, normally they do about 1-hour episodes, but BL? 10min:D It feels more like an experiment... but they went after it. Sadly I felt stiffness? hetero-embarrassment? lack of skills? in their romantic scenes. That kinda destroyed it for me. Learn from the Thais!;D The story itself wasn't that great also... Maybe my expectations were high?
P.S. Will we all be like that Ahjumma in our 50s?:D
He publically admitted to being in a 7 year relationship with a minor (I saw something saying they were 13-15…
Kinda... true. Somehow I didn't think about that. There's no 'pedophilia' word in the criminal law. It's also not the case that only pedophiler rapes children. Many of the perpetrators don't have this disease.
I guess I was thinking about the situation where "relationships" with kids under 15yo are somewhat accepted? And almost no one report them (also to avoid being pointed by others)

May I ask which country are you from? I'm wondering where's no such crime as pedophilia. Can it be marked as disease or there's no such condition at all? Interesting.
Maybe many people who liked Addicted have read the novel. There clearly was a point from which Bai Luo Yin stopped screaming "get out" and "leave me alone". In drama Timmy failed to show real Bai Luo Yin. I didn't like his acting at all. (in some interview he said he's not content with his performace also and the only thing he can said it's that he was sick for most of the filming; knowing it's not the excuse) Second thing is the fact that Bai Luo Yin isn't weak. He could have made Gu Hai to get lost, but he was also fond of him; he wanted to joke with him and spent time with him, but he knew Gu Hai's nature and didn't want to give him the excuse to act even more bolder. (I guess Luo Yin is more reserved and was thinking that this kind of relationship might not be that normal, especially for others, and he might hurt his dad, whm he really cared for. Remeber chinese filial piety?) At first I was taken-aback with the kidnapping scene. But someone pointed that Bai Luo Yin wasn't scared there. Pissed yeah, but not scared. I saw (and dropped) yaoi dramas where "uke is ukeish/girly" weak and the molest/rape line was crossed. That's unforgivable. Addicted (drama) didn't cross that line. ̶(̶n̶o̶v̶e̶l̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶a̶n̶o̶t̶h̶e̶r̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶n̶g̶.̶.̶.̶)̶
Like (almost) every chinese dramaXD they all have such high notes... interesting. In this one actually nothing…
Lol too XD I liked that. Whole drama wasn't too sweet that way. Characters were more real, and the bad ones had reasons to be bad or go bad ;D I guess we have different tastes;)

Oh but that's the case for every drama :) For example I avoid telenovelas and melo, however in the second type I still might give it a try if the rate is high and the plot seems interesting. I'd looove to watch watch one of those makjang drama when they hit someone with seaweed:D As for low-budget, one of my fav is low-budget (and I don't think it's objectively great drama but I still love it<3) so I try to not prejudge against anything. Very good point. I'll start to read all the tags, because few days ago I bumped on smth horrible which I wouldn't have stared if I knew... Thank you for recomendations. Eternal love seems quite interesting. One cdrama I can recomend is Ashes of love. It's fantasy fairytale so everything fitted just perfectly. (just too much spitting bloodXD)

How exactly different is cdrama genere when it comes to understaing it?:P I guess all dramas are rated (I do it like that) not because of some objective value of widening horizonts but for entertainment that comes to our liking. It's plot, way of realisation etc... And, for me, chinese ones tend to show some ridiculous, unreal moments which suppose to be romantic, but they are not. I know it does sometimes happen in a lot of dramas, but Chinese master it. I'm wondering also why in every chinese drama separation for years is a must. I remember once they separate main couple for 3 years; it was said they didn't contact each other at all, and after she came back, he proposed on the airport... and she agreed. really?wtf... It might be famous cultural differences, so I'd like to know more about that;)

But overall just so-so.
I love Kuranoske's character.
Great movie! Though I've expected a comedy and it was nothing like that XD
