Chinese dramas perpetuating the male ego! Good the fight for the attention of the emperor used to FRUSTRATE ME! But when I read up more on the history of those women I felt so bad for them because his affection was their survival. Some women have led really sad lives so a story like TSOPG, is so refreshing! Really shows the reality of women in those times. How families can easily fall and a seemingly noble woman could be kidnapped and turned to a slave in an instant from CSJ POV and how life then was a literal fight for survival! ZLS has truly embodied this character I feel like a proud momma!

😂😂😂 I didn’t want to say it but yes he was a big gullible SL*T! I just wanted you to watch another perspective of the same historical events/timeline lol… I find in Palace stories it’s very hard to route for ML and FL when there are like 10 concubines waiting on the sidelines lol

Have you seen Ruyi’s Palace Love Story? Another really good story telling! Frustrating at times but another angle showing THE EMPEROR WAS THE PROBLEM but another great historical drama. I love history so I get really into researching the accurate historical facts. But man do I have words for that womanising emperor. It also tells the story of WYL (given a different name in that drama) of a different angle completely opposite to SYP

I don’t think she has any romantic affection towards ZJR! I think he would remain her really good friend but nothing beyond that. And also, he is too duty bound, I don’t think he could stomach marrying her as a concubine, nor would she accept to be his concubine

I think if YZJ dies, it’ll add to the story of Su Muzhe ! I don’t know how to articulate it correctly right now, but I would understand only if the story is told correctly. Remember DW as the suffering young girl lost everyone she loved and reinvented herself as Su Muzhe the woman who is extremely capable, his death would hurt her, I don’t think it would break her though. I have no hope for any character, I just hope they tell the story well so I can atleast understand why they decided to traumatise me but applaud them for a good story told.

No it’s not a sad ending, but the love story of FFH and WYL that never got to happen still traumatises me til this day. And then I watched the princess adventures as well and he never stopped loving her and Lord was I broken ! I went down the rabbit hole of thinking of how many love stories ended up tragic and didn’t get to happen simply due to politics. I understood FFH and WYL way too much to just let that emperor slide! He knew what he did and he was never sorry for it! (I know I know he was chosen by heaven blah blah blah) BUT HE KNEW WHAT HE DID! The ending was one I was forced to accept but excellent writing cos it made sense! Amazing story telling!

I actually refused to finish kill me love me because it made no sense whatsoever to end that ways and I despise senseless writing especially if it’s going to leave me with depression for a month. I’m still not over the trauma of Yanxi Palace, that’s why I keep watching Royal Feasts over and over again! HE FOR ALL in the universe I live in! The world is tough enough, it shouldn’t be even tougher on tv 😩😭😭

You missed my point completely… I already know YZJ is going after the ZHENGS yes but she’s perpetuating the situation… someone trying to save themselves would basically stay out if it, get what she can and run or encourage ZZH to run with her. But nope she’s trying to reclaim her family name. Everything she does is for the approval and glory of her family regardless of herself. ZZH comments in the most recent episode when he was drunk … saying she could give herself to someone wealthier than him who could help her seek revenge! And truth be told, SHE WOULD. A legitimate daughter acting in that manner in those times !?!

YZJ is the only person with VALID reason for revenge! They literally massacred his whole family in cold blood! The rest of them are fighting to save their asses and hide their crimes. But as you said, we can agree to disagree.

I think ZZH is setting up CSJ! He’s like an arrogant rich kid… he will always choose himself! He might be the son of a concubine but he’s not short of women. So far we’ve been seeing him ALLOW CSJ to lead him, but I think he’s just as cunning and meticulous as YZJ… I don’t know but there’s something about him I don’t fully trust. It’s like a Panda, because it’s cuddly and cute doesn’t stop its true nature, a WILD ANIMAL! He literally poured hot water on the hands of someone he was seemingly helping… he’s definitely a threat. I therefore take back about previous comments about a possible redeeming arc for him … he’s devious. I do not trust him.

CSJ… I give up. She’s not very intelligent is she? Not the smartest cookie but carrying around an undeserved male ego trying to prove what exactly !?!

READY and I HAVE BEEN READY for the fall of XNY! “The greedier you are, the quicker you fall” -YZJ And I don’t think this was aiming only towards XNY, I think this applies to CSJ also!

No, I disagree she’s not saving herself. A person who is saving themselves, especially after everything she’s been through, would sit down with ZZH and remain humble. Accept defeat and live a good live that ZZH has thus far provided her. She’s trying to salvage her family name and take back what they initially stole. She’s seeking revenge but being led by her pride and like I mentioned in a different comment, there’s no pride in revenge. She’s un redeemable and has zero accountability for her actions. It’ll be like her trip to Wulin… where she believed she was in control of her uncle (her pride and ego at work) but the whole time she was falling into his trap, her self-assurance is her biggest flaw and we’re already seeing her planning out the EXACT same scenario as Wulin, thinking she’s moving the pieces but she will end up being another pawn. A dead one at that!

Another interesting take. I think the choice for ZZH will be to either save himself or sacrifice himself for the family. When he was talking to CSJ He made a comment along the lines of his father not even really phased by the death of ZHS… I personally think his attitude is that of an arrogant spoilt rich kid without serious responsibilities. He was able to knock out his childhood crush because at that point her family was declining anyway and he got what he wanted, he did nothing more nothing less. But he also helped her without degrading her when she was seriously in need which shows he has compassion. I low-key don’t want him to die, and I think if he’s able to figure out that he will be nothing but collateral damage in CSJ’s tyrannical reign for unfounded revenge, I think he may be saved. I look forward to his story progression.

I need to watch episode 26 again so I can identify these areas you’ve mentioned. I noticed something was off with Yuchi at Languan Dock yard but I wasn’t able to answer my questions because literally nobody in the series has mentioned it. They’ve all been focused on LK the leader of the bandits.

However, I do believe YZJ and DW are very aware of the betrayal! Not one of them sought him for assistance in their escape. Furthermore, Shrimp gave us insight into his true character when he mentioned that he doesn’t like him even though he doted on him, because when he’s giving him sweets he’s kind but when he’s educating him he’s extremely strict. It comes across as a statement from a nagging child but a kind person will be just as kind in their teaching. (The English translation stated Strict, but I’m beginning to think the Chinese word probably meant more).

I think you’re partially right about ZJR attendant, but I won’t elaborate on why until I see the next few episodes and more light is shed on truths.

That scene was truly chilling! Blink and you’ll miss that cold detachment when ZZH mentioned the truth depths of her family’s crimes.

I look forward to ZZH arc though, I think he may be redeemable, because currently he’s being led by duty, but remember he has businesses to stand on without his family, so I’m hopeful for him. I don’t they why but I think his realisation and understanding that he’s just a pawn that can be disposed of at will like his brother may add to his character development.

Also can you shed light on what actually happened at Languan place, I think Yuchi was involved in the Black Bandits kidnapping DW and I think ZJR’s attendant was the mole to Prince Ying who gave away the plan. I don’t know but something is off with his attendant that I don’t trust. How did the Black Bandits infiltrate the convey? How did they know the plan enough to ambush and remember the army was meant to follow ZJR but in the Knick of time they received an order not to leave base, who was behind that intel? Is it just me suspecting the attendant and Yuchi?
