Also the contrast between CSJ and DW is a great insight, because yet again we see CSJ making the exact same choices she made which led her family to ruin, but now she’s hiding behind ZW and using him as her sword. Even through her adversity, becoming a beggar, she learned NOTHING! All she sees is revenge and pride, but she fails to realise the people successfully taking revenge have really foregone their pride, there’s no pride in revenge. YZJ has crawled from the gutter and had to fight dogs for food, DW had to fight men and sharks in order to survive… CSJ ran from thieves and lost her father due to their own family’s karma but still fails to take accountability and believes her fight is valid. But is it thought? When ZW told her about the ZHENG AND CUI family’s massacre on the Yan family she simply states “it’s business”… I lost all hope for her then, she has no redeeming qualities, zero self awareness and self accountability. Even until now she doesn’t believe her actions also allowed for the destruction of her family, she blames YZJ, ZW, remember she also blames DW for the Pearl farm fire… she blames everyone and their sisters but sees no fault in herself or her family.

This is facts! I watched In Blossom recently, second attempt and goodness was I highly disappointed. I had no choice but to drop it because of JJY! I think her approach to acting a character that’s meant to be a strong female lead is to dumb them down to prissy silly girls and that gets old fast! When your career requires you to grow and you can no longer get roles as a prissy princess in your 40s how will you maintain when you’ve never shown range in your acting? I think that’s why the likes of Crystal Yu etc(I forget her name right now) have careers that will span decades because they have shown range! ZLS has a very long career ahead of her, she is not in the same league, her scripts are clearly very intelligently chosen and if she were to whether Hollywood I’m sure she will thrive! This girl has RANGE! The sweet face fools you 😂😂

It hasn’t… I stopped before the TRAGEDY! And o was it worth it… I cried! I picked it back up last night and now waiting on episode 28 and 29! It was worth it.

I don’t have a problem with it either. He’s a really good man and not haunted. The thing is YZJ is haunted and weighed down by his course towards revenge! He will NEVER be peaceful until that blood debt is paid. Whereas SML in terms of character and generosity, he’s very similar to DW. Kind, driven and most importantly not burdened but seeks to do what’s right just like her. *sigh* First time I’ve routed for a SML in a drama ! The growth !!!

I understand, but here’s the thing, in life just in general outside of the show… when things happen to you in life, it’s best to blame yourself because the only thing you can control in this life is your own actions! Once you blame yourself you can CLEARLY see your faults and do better next time. I think her blaming herself is part of the growth. Maturity is seeking to see your own wrongdoings first before looking for fault in others, because why? You can only control what you do next to make sure the same thing doesn’t keep happening to you. She’s learning from each experience. And I think we need to respect YZJ for giving her that opportunity even though we all want a reunion, she can’t rely on herself if she believes someone will always come to save her.

One thing we need to understand is that TSOPG is not some story about a little girl who got bold and goes investigating issues beyond her powers stupidly… that’s what the audience like to see hence they run to dramas like that fantasy drama with that girl (I’m not hating or starting fan wars) I just need ZLS fans to not engage because TSOPG IS NOT IN THE SAME LEAGUE! TSOPG is in the same league as Yanxi Palace and the likes… a real drama! It’s a shame they no longer allow 70 eps because I’m sure we would all be taking anxiety meds! ZLS has shown she is no prissy little girl actress! This is the story of a girl who became a Fighting Woman, not just any pampered Lady! She keeps her integrity all through and is fighting for what is right, is able to admit her fault but SHE WILL TAKE THE RISK! SU MIZHE HAS NOTHING TO LOSE but she keeps fighting like she has everything to lose! Listen, I can’t predict
, I can’t guess… at one point in the middle I was wondering why all these new random characters and then BOOM the shock of my life, I almost hit my face with the laptop! I think the writer of Game of thrones was involved in this writing because it is clear nobody is safe! I’m not getting attached to characters anymore! I honestly just hope it’s a happy ending but that hope is quickly dwindling ! Well DONE ZLS 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 AND ALL THE CAST! NOT A MISCAST YET!!!!

I made it to episode 21 with forced anticipation that something will change … Nope! No progression NOTHING!

1. Why is the fiancée always screaming and angry? That got old after the first two episodes, like site I understand you are being abused by your father at home but are you unable to form one sentence without screaming? Even outside the stage he’s always screaming! LIKE SHUT UP! His character got old very quickly!
2. Oh and Haru… I expected so much and I’ve been let down! Why o why is he always silent with king looks of anguish? Like I’m very confused as to his purpose at this point because they seem to be getting nowhere. You’re going to change her date okay great! BUT YOU CANNOT MOVE OR SOEAK ANYTHING OUTSIDE WHAT THE WRITER WROTE ON STAGE !!!! Also, there was a specific scene where he took off her heart monitor and changed the scene to her friend being the one that fainted, and it seemed like a significant change, but then the next scene after that, she had the heart monitor watch on every scene after that… WHAT WAS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF HIM TAKING IT OFF THEN ?
3. Haru started to annoy me after episode 3, I’m not going to lie! Like she’s actually genuinely annoying because I would think off stage you would do EVERYTHING in you power to avoid the fiancée that demeans and belittles you every chance he gets on and off stage, but nope, she continues to entertain him! when she’s speaking to her friend about the heart fluttering and every scene they automatically think it’s the fiancée! CORRECT THEM ! I get they won’t remember so even more reason to correct them for your own peace of mind!
4. Squid Fairy … Im on episode 21 and still confused as to what his purpose in this story is! He’s done nothing but repeat the lines that the writers will can’t be changed. Okay we get it… what now… where’s the development?
5. Nam Jo and the female lead girl ! They did NOT have to write a female character that dumb ! Because now I’m questioning how she managed to get into that school to begin with if she’s not that smart ! Like she’s painfully stupid you get to the point of routing for her bullies because it seems she wants to be bullied! You can’t remember scenes off stage but you can remember scenes that have happened on stage so that leads me to believe that all the bullying have happened on stage therefore you should remember the last time they locked you in the closet saying Nam Jo was looking for you! How can they continue using the same tricks and you keep falling for it? At that point you WANT to be bullied! Her character so was painfully dreadful!
5. There was also a scene where Haru recognised Nam Jos mother… still no explanation until now…that was like in episode 8 or 10 or something. Also Eun’s Father… WHAT!!! You clearly don’t love your daughter if you’re willing to sell her off to that leech of a family ! I get that he’s written that way, but it’s painful to watch.

At this point this show has become background noise! I finish every episode more confused than the last with No questions answered! Eun is also quite mean and self centred especially to the female lead who she pretends to be her friend… she’s just as worst as the bullies! Zero character development so far and I’m 21 episodes in! I’m actually just going to drop it! A complete wait of my time and I was genuinely so excited for this! And I hate to say negative things about shows but actors can only work with the material that they’re given and these actors did their best with the material they were given, it’s just very badly written! And also whoever the writer is in the show, is a sadistic MESS! At one point I began to theorise that the stage was the current comic they were in but then off stage was the past comic Trumpet Creeper and it was a battle
Of both comics being acted out simultaneously but Secret taking precedence… I’m just confused now! Anyways RANT OVER!

I started skipping through scenes by episode 5 … I was tired !! ML and FL are telling this BIG HUGE LIE but talk about it in public and every five minutes with no regard for who’s around! SFL is SO OBVIOUSLY manipulative with a disaster for a mother, I was done by episode! The GRANDMOTHER!! Omd do not get me started, I was ready for death from 30mins into episode 1! Why is she still alive and why us everyone giving into her BS! ML had all the ener to go against her when FL moved in but could no say NO to the forced marriage to essentially a despicable human being because she told him no one would believe him ? Even though his Mom was ready to drop it all for him !?! I’m already frustrated and I’m on episode 12! I think the SFL is going to overhear them once again discussing their fake relationship when she returns the annex key.. if that’s what happens I’m finished! Just annoying writing for no reason !

The second time I watched the drama was for this exact reason, to figure out why they left out SYH and why FL kept allowing ZP to push her around even when she wanted to help SYH, even though YZP LITERALLY TRIED TO KILL HER!!! I found that EXTREMELY frustrating at first, but if you watch the drama again, you’ll notice that for both ZP and SYH, with was either one or the other, it couldn’t have been both of them. SYH despised ZP because she felt she was lowly and of the lower class so therefore she didn’t have the right to sit with them, so SYH was never going to sit in a friendship with FL and YZP! YZP equally despised SYH because she felt she was arrogant and better than everyone else, you’ll notice this from the first episode when they’re in the line up and the matron asks them why they wanted to be cooks in the palace! Her story, though complicated seemed like the two girls excluded her but the truth is she actually excluded herself and decided to walk her own path. She could’ve let go of her prejudice toward YZP but refused to and that was the main barrier blocking the emergence of that friendship. And notice even after she was caught, her mom losing her hand etc, she didn’t stop. Her arrogant nature led her to her demise not anyone else. You’ll notice that FL gave YZP a second chance, and I’m sure if SYH has come to them open hearted and willing, they would have given her that chance as well… in fact FL gave her multiple chances but her pride and arrogance got the better of her. Yes, it was annoying when YZP wouldn’t led FL interact with her at points and it made you feel sorry for her, but like I said, if she would’ve just let go of the pride and arrogance and just apologised to YZP and tried to make friends with them, her path would have been different! She wanted to show she was better than them in everything.

I’ve watched this about 5times now. Been dreaming about it so will be watching again before the year runs out and will never stop watching! It’s soo good! Great script, acting and the focus on culinary arts is amazing and beautifully shot! I love that’s it’s based on historical facts but without the burden Ls and tragedy attached to history! It’s honestly just a refreshing historical drama and one of the best … I don’t know why folks on MDL like to rate good shows down. Listen DO NOT MISS THIS! Definitely 9.5 ! Love it!

After what I know just happened due to all the comments that don’t have the decency to TAG SPOILER! they have to give us a HE otherwise there is no god in that world! No one can have THAT MUCH bad luck in life!

I have to pause for my mental health until at least EP 20! My anxiety can’t take this! Plus if you know, then you know ZLS and crying is the MOST GUT-WRENCHING thing to experience because you feel that pain with her! I’m not prepared.

I’m starting to think shrimp won’t make it! Beloved could mean anyone close to her !!
