Drama gods, please give me the strength to tolerate some of this questionable dubbing and enjoy the series... Because I really adore all of these actors... 🤣

Actually enjoying this. I like the spooky and grim vibes. Hankiz Omar and Zhu Zhengting are gorgeous together. There's a bit of reverse trope going on with the sexy and mysterious "dark lord" being a lady for once and the clueless mortal tied to them being a man.

Surprise drop!? I could use a laugh these days, I hope it is good and funny.

Wow, that scene in episode 15 was absolutely stunning. Hauntingly beautiful and unsettling at once.

These are all of the aspects I'm enjoying as well. Normal skin tones and textures, music not intruding on scenes but rather subtly enhancing it, environment mostly realistic and naturally colored as well. It feels both beautiful and yet relatable, like I am almost another person or character inside the scene experiencing it with them.

The BGM tracks for this are very interesting, it almost reminds me more of an anime series. The strange music and sound effects during the tense or slightly scary scenes are pretty cool.

Ahhh I didn't realize Li Yu (Master Gu) was in this! His facial expressions crack me up. He often plays my favorite "goofy but deeply wise" old master archetype.

Fingers crossed for Ye Ying to activate some brain cells and turn a new leaf before the show ends... 😆

What a great example of dual POV! They don't exactly copy or rehash too many scenes either, but show us some new things and reveal more information from the other's perspective. I hope this continues throughout the drama.

I'm really enjoying hearing Bai Lu and Cheng Lei's actual voices in this. They look and sound very good together.

Yeah, he has a kind of ironic head tilt thing he does, then sometimes gives this half-smile that causes one of his dimples to show. It's pretty cute at least!

Hate to say this, but the romance scenes are actually annoying me. They spend WAY too much time together for unmarried people in this situation and political climate, one of them even made a binding vow to the previous Emperor to stay celibate etc. Just seems like there would be a lot more pressure to stay apart and not constantly go around alone together to avoid others attacking them over it. Instead they're practically having a normal couple arc.

Excellent "matriarchy" drama with a sensible take on role reversals. Many funny moments and very cute chemistry between leads. The lady young master is so kind, loyal, and beautiful that I wanted to marry her myself.

The extended scenes of arrogant, scheming men talking slowly to each other are getting tiresome. Maybe some of their heads will get lopped off later and make it worthwhile. 🤣

Yeah I don't get some of those comments. She was very good in the painful scenes, I felt terrible for her character while watching them.

Good thing this FL is wiser and more driven than me, because I would've been like a rabid dog doing everything just to make sure Xiao Xun was fucking dead. 😂

This is a really good watch for a vertical drama. FL is a mischievous demon all the way through and genuinely funny. Neither main character is particularly likeable (they are both kind of jerks) at the beginning, but somehow that makes it work even better. A little bit of enemies to lovers and contract marriage trope here.

I hope this drama finally makes good use of how smoldering and attractive Wang Hong Yi is. 🤣 It looks like a fitting character for him, someone kind of strange and intense.

I really like how Jesse Ren played the "unhinged" element of his character in this. Even his weirdly aggressive eating and the sulky, guarded body language was interesting to watch.
