Ahhh how I love it when we get hand chemistry in these dramas... 😍 That chunky magic ring is nice on him, as well. Actually, all of the props and weapons so far are at least decent, like the Twelve Thoughts looked very cool and detailed in a couple of close-ups.

I could easily watch more than 29 episodes of these characters. 😭

It absolutely "feels" like two different people. I'm constantly impressed with how well some C Drama actors are able to do this.

Did not expect that this would be the drama to twist at my heart out of all the things airing recently. Apart from the gorgeous eye candy of fighting scenes and characters, it is very riveting and emotionally engaging.

The scene where Li Jie discards the puppet body was grim and sad... 😢

There is a duet song (male and female voices) that plays later on in some sad/romantic scenes. It starts either in episode 5 or 6 I think, not sure. But it is very beautiful and full of longing.

I'm already getting a little bit attached to these characters, they are so fun together... How do I brace myself for a possible tearful ending. 🤣

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the pairs, but it's actually amusing and delightful to have the contrast with them.

The only thing bothering me about this show is that something is just off with the voice audio for a few of the actors. It's really noticeable with Chen Feiyu because he has that deep resonant voice, but somehow sounds like he was recorded in a restroom on a $5 microphone. Like it sounds worse than some VERY low budget stuff I've watched lately. 😂

I'm really enjoying an ML who is so cunning and strong, yet isn't totally cold, blank-faced and emotionless all the time. He has a lot of personality and is very entertaining.

Okay, so, for the record I intended to only skim the first few chapters of the novel and get an idea of how characters were translating to the show, if the atmosphere felt similar, etc... but now I'm so engrossed by it that I'm fighting the urge to just completely read the whole thing through. 😂

After checking out the novel in the past couple of days, I don't think the two main characters could have been cast better than this. Their dynamic comes through just the same on screen too. Very cool.

The way he's so smug and ridiculous over the rice cakes really had me laughing... 🤭

I think they could have done a better job on the sword, yeah. Especially since it's kind of an important object.

Watching Miles Wei as a foxy yet good-natured romantic ML in one show, then as a cold and dark scumlord in another at the same time is really a trip! His entrance was good and creepy here, he put on quite a terrifying expression. I don't think I would mess with Yan Ke. 😆

Wow... They are enchanting together. I got very immersed in that scene with the veiled hat. Both actors have such a strong ability to deliver those intense gazes and communicate with their eyes.
