This is filmed in the same style as a cheaper vertical drama and the first episode is actually just... kind of bad. Awkward script and plot drops you into the middle of nowhere. Unfortunate, since the two main actors are both good and talented! If you want to watch Yan Zi Xian in something and haven't yet seen Fate Beyond Script, I recommend that instead.

Oh dear, this was one cute and funny BTS. WZM is very good with comedic timing it looks like. 🤣 I'm glad when the actors seem to be comfortable and having fun with each other on set.

Every new episode answers one question and then brings two or three more. 😂

Yes! Novel adaptations are fun and all (there are some very good/memorable ones), but sometimes a new story where everyone experiences it together is so fresh and exciting! 🥰

Why is Yan An so ridiculously hot in this... He's certainly an attractive dude to begin with, but something about the makeup, his outfits, or general styling is really working well for me here.

Ahhh how I love it when we get hand chemistry in these dramas... 😍 That chunky magic ring is nice on him, as well. Actually, all of the props and weapons so far are at least decent, like the Twelve Thoughts looked very cool and detailed in a couple of close-ups.

I could easily watch more than 29 episodes of these characters. 😭

It absolutely "feels" like two different people. I'm constantly impressed with how well some C Drama actors are able to do this.

Did not expect that this would be the drama to twist at my heart out of all the things airing recently. Apart from the gorgeous eye candy of fighting scenes and characters, it is very riveting and emotionally engaging.

The scene where Li Jie discards the puppet body was grim and sad... 😢

There is a duet song (male and female voices) that plays later on in some sad/romantic scenes. It starts either in episode 5 or 6 I think, not sure. But it is very beautiful and full of longing.
