So I mostly watched this for the two leads, who I just find totally adorable together. I knew it was going to have some plot inconsistencies and foolish character behavior, but honestly for a short drama it was pretty good. The costumes are better than average for this type of show and the music was cute. No surprises in the story but it's not as if it was completely terrible. Some of the negative comments are fair enough about stupid moments. I just went in with mid-low expectations, wanting to see two actors I like a lot in a different setting and I was satisfied with the rest.
I like the quirky style of characters and the natural, slightly less filtered look of the show in general. Not that there's anything wrong with the fancy makeup and ultra pretty costume stuff, just nice to see something different once in a while.
This should have been too goofy and fluffy for me, but instead I kind of like it? Lu Ting Yu made Kong Hou into a really adorable character and Li Hong Yi is great as the chilly master who is actually soft-hearted deep down (at least for his close people). I've also laughed more than I expected watching it. π β€οΈ
Atmospheric and kind of grim. It's a bit hard for me to accept Chen Xingxu as a desperate and somewhat violent character, but I think I've just watched him being shy and anxious in too many variety show episodes and I will get used to it soon. I actually like the story and I'm not sure how people are confused about it, seems very clear to me. There will probably be romance later on and nothing wrong with a slow build-up. I anticipate this show ramping up in all plot elements as it continues along.
8.0, YOU'RE KIDDING ME???????? I rlly don't get the rating at all. Instead of going up like I had expected, it's…
Feeling the same! This drama was beautiful and full of heart. Also it is packed with memorable characters that have distinct personalities and good performances by their actors. I really hope the rating will rise or at least more people will give it a chance.
Watching this casually while waiting for some other things. It's not terrible, but the first couple of episodes are rough/not so good. It gets slightly better from there. Not something to watch critically, more of a "turn your mind off and chill" drama. The characters and actors themselves are cute, at least.
My next live watch series! Very excited. Haven't seen Chen Xingxu in a while, hope he's great here. He and Dilraba both look sexy and dangerous in the trailers. π₯°
Okay but is it just me who really wants to see Zhumei... Like I already had no hope for his appearance, but when…
I really wanted to see him as well and get a better sense of the character. Because now I kind of feel like we're missing a small piece for knowing the whole Zhou Di Lou family.
There are probably other actors who could have done a fine job, but for me it's difficult to imagine anyone else truly bringing the drama version character of Tang Lici to life like Luo Yunxi has. Really giving me such intense feelings and creating a memorable impression.
Now that I've come back to watching this, I'm enjoying it even more than I expected. All of the various friendships, rivalries, and bitter feuds are very intriguing to me. Most of the characters we've met so far have at least some depth and layers, and I personally have no problems or complaints about them. The villainous ones make my skin crawl and the companionable people are endearing in their own ways. The story and world make me feel like I'm going on a great and weird mystical adventure along with them.
It is a little funny though to watch some of the viewers who are heavy into shipping argue over who goes with Tang Lici best, almost like he's so awesome and desirable that it made people fight for his affection in real life. π
When Tang Lici is with bros Chi Yun and Shen Langhun, he has the nicest smile. Twinkling, kind-hearted eyes type of smile. It's very charming to watch these three together.
Is there anywhere to listen to the instrumental OST? And which song is the one on episode 19 during the flashback?…
Here is a YouTube channel that posts many OSTs with the BGMs and instrumentals included, usually after the series finishes airing. I expect Whispers of Fate will be there soon! π₯° https://www.youtube.com/@xiaoxiao365
The costumes are amazing for this, the plot sounds interesting (love it when they incorporate musical elements), and it has several actors I really enjoy. Definitely looking forward to it! β₯οΈ
