can someone fill me up on the gong ill plot? i dont understand him, first he seemd like hes with the king but…
Thats the mystery, i guess. Gong-gil in the movie "the king and the clown", while not truly an ally to the king, he too sympathized with the king (cant really remember all the details as ive watched it long time ago). He was also part of a performing troupe but very feminine.
In this drama, I think, writers made him very manly. I guess, he intently got himself close to the king to know what really happened to his sister who died pitifully and have his revenge. As to his decisions moving forward, we'll have yet to see.
How come all the good shows are less than 16 episodes?
Each episode is 1 hour and 20 minutes. If you convert the total hours for the entire run, it's equivalent to 16 episodes. 1 hr 20 minutes is 80-minute format. 😊
80 minutes x 12 episodes = 960 mins (BAYM's format) 60 minutes x 16 episodes = 960 mins (regular 1-hour format)
If Chef Ji Yeong just upgraded her plane seat into business class or first class since she won EUR100k, none of this would have happened and spared me of this torture of waiting for new episodes. 😁✌️
After several years from its airing, I finally watched this. The first few episodes happened fast. The medical cases they took on were entertaining. HOWEVER, I grew tired of the hospital politics being dragged out until the end, and yet still had no conclusion on President Do. I enjoy binge-watching good medical dramas, but I found it hard to finish this with excitement. I finished it for the sake of finishing it. Without dragging out the politics, maybe I could have enjoyed it more. I haven't watched Season 2 yet, but I will give it a try.
The real king was enthroned as king when he was 19. This series occurred in his 10th year of reign which makes…
What do you mean? how did he survive if he has no allies? if that's it: - He has a best friend, the chief royal secretary. On watching several palace politics from other dramas, can't really say that the chief royal secretary is a friend, but rather his family could benefit from the king so they are supporting him. I assume that they are powerful so they may also be influential to other court officials. - If you'll watch the life of a crown prince from "Under the Queen's Umbrella", some court officials are tasked to be the mentor/teachers to the crown prince until he becomes the king. I guess, he got some support from his teachers until he learned what happened to his mother. He was a good king at first, but he turned into a tyrant when he learned that his mother was killed. You could read his governance from Wiki if you're really interested.
It's a drama. Don't think too much of the background. After watching several dramas, i just learned to accept was presented to me and let go of the logic for my own entertainment and peace of mind. Haha.
Watched the first 4 episodes. The first two were strong but 3 and 4 werent that engaging. I am liking yoona and…

gosh! I shouldn't have started this. The wait is so agonizing! The last time I did this was for Alchemy of Souls S2. Back then, I said to myself not to start anything until the drama is finished. And yet, here I am again, tempted by interesting posts and comments, so I gave in! Haha.
Where's the shaman's son after all the events? Just curious.
I forwarded most of the time since I wanted to reach the point where the big reveal of who and how the killer was caught, but planning to go back to the scenes I've missed.
As a music-lover, I love this drama! I don't have major complaints, except for the storyline regarding the share split. I don't think the conclusion was justified. Anyway, it's a part I can let go of. I still love the majority of this drama, though.
I agree that 15 years alone on an island is a stretch. 15 years was also used in Flower of Evil as the length of time of a comatose state of one of its characters. I guess I just learned to accept that this duration is common to set up a plot is normal in a drama. Haha.
It's alright. I love Park Eun-bin as an actress and appreciate her versatility, but it's not something I would rewatch. I was curious enough about their motivations on how they turned out to be like that and why they do the things they did, but it left me unsatisfied in the end.
Comedy in 1st episode is lackluster for me. Age gap is so evident between Anne and Joshua. It's hard not to compare to the korean version. Nothing beats the original from the cinematography, production, acting, script, comedic relief, etc.
The saving grace so far is Carlo's acting. Just wow!
I'm so glad that the character of Prosecutor Eun Sol was written so much better this season. I still enjoyed the cases they worked on. It's a good thing that they also brought on board Do Ji Han as the main character this season to replace Prosecutor Kang Hyeon, as I couldn't stand the latter as a mentor for Eun Sol and found him to be just meh in the first season.
Doctor K is so handsome!!! I really dig villains who look like vampires and/or with long hair (e.g. Scholar of the Night, Flower of Evil)! Apart from the looks, he delivered a solid performance about his disorder.
The only downside for me is that I missed Stella and Detective Cha. Sally, the one who replaced Stella, has her charms, but I liked Stella more. I couldn't understand the English words sometimes being said by Sally, although her character was supposed to be from Miami's Korean Town. :D

I wish for season 3!
