They could definitely benefit from a longer runtime. They could give more depth to all the characters, including the little girl’s story. I also like the head of the village who gives such simple and to the point advices to Chan. And, of course, backstories for both Chan and Yeol. 😻

Chan is really like a big fluffy puppy! There are people like that in real life, and it’s absolutely impossible to get mad at them even though they might deserve it.
Of course, Chan only deserves praise and hugs, he’s so thoughtful and caring! 🥰 He certainly deserves kisses as well, but with it being KBL, I don’t keep my hopes too high 😉

I’m definitely right there with Weha on this one: “grab genitalia just for excitement, but not too stress” - what DOES it mean??? 😳 And whose genitalia is Wayu supposed to grab for excitement? That’s some show he’s filming! 🙀

Korn is definitely no Prince Charming 😂 He has a long way to go in his character development, so it’s good for us as we’ll get to see it 🤩 Hopefully, Pawin will help him and will become happier himself along the way.

Where I grew up, March 8 was considered international women’s day, and February 23 - Army and Navy day (kinda like man’s day since army draft was for 18 y. o. males) 😊

You’re probably right, and I agree - those conversations didn’t sit right with me either. I understand the company wants to get all the “dirt” out of the way so that it doesn’t hinder them later. I also understand they might want the games exactly to see how they work together. But I think it could be also done as an acting challenge instead of the games. They could achieve the same goal using different methods, that’s all.
Like, the conversations could still happen, scattered within the acting pieces or at the end of the episode. Teamwork could still be observed with some interesting group act. Maybe they didn’t want to pay the acting coach too much? That could be the reason if they are tight on funds.
I’m just saying that it would be more interesting for me personally to see more of “actor’s educational camp” type thing, what’s involved in their education and professional growth, how they should deal with pressure in healthy ways, etc.

Those “norms” of calling the behaviors based on gender is not only English specific, unfortunately. Social norms impact language a lot, and the norms are similar in many countries.
I think people are different even within the same family, not speaking of a wider groups, so just like there are calm and shy people, there will be loud and obnoxious people, modest and slutty, etc. So I think there are all those different kinds of people among gay, lesbian, bi, and straight people as well. I’m talking about real life. Now, how they are depicted in reel life is a whole different story. I agree that many times series go into stereotypes, and it’s ok for once or twice (since people like that do exist in reality), but more than that - it becomes a tired trope to me. I’m interested in different people, different stories. Same thing on repeat becomes boring to me. Just like that infamous “dumb girl” 😂
So, here is an incomplete list of series that came out within this year with my “favorite” character:
- 609 Bedtime story
- Cafe in Love
- Check Out (a “masterpiece”, but fits the bill)
- The 8th Sense
- Unforgotten Night
- 2 Moons: the Ambassador
There was another one about a culinary student Luk Chup in love with a student from another faculty (engineering maybe 🤔) and that girl was spreading rumors online - I can’t remember the name of the series. She was a real nutcase to take the grand prize! If you know what series it is - please let me know, my mind will be racing now 😂
The reason why it’s more prominent in BL is simply a female to male ratio in a genre. When you have only a few females in a realm, bad ones will be more visible than in a hetero drama with lots of different females. That’s all 😊
By the way, I react just the same to dumb females (or males) in straight dramas. For example, I really disliked a female in 3 gentle bros who has no boundaries with Tay’s character and it would be easily called “sexual harassment” if genders were reversed. But there she was a FL, so of course it worked out 🙄.
Anyway, let’s hope for more interesting series with various plots and characters! 🤞

See, that’s exactly why I would ditch all those games and start with acting challenges instead. An actor can be an introvert in real life, but a wonderful actor on the set. Who cares how an actor is in real life? I certainly don’t. As long as an actor does his job and gives a good performance - he’s great to me!
In real life, he can be loud or quiet, have a lover or not, love his nightclubs or his wine and books - that’s his business 😊
But here, I feel like they wasted several episodes with those games. Oh well…

I’m glad they got an acting coach for their rehearsals! They actually got a chance to learn - that’s great.
I’m not sure how often professional actors are thrown into “let’s change the scenery, props and costumes in 5 minutes, and btw you have to make all the decisions by yourself “. To me, it’s a highly unlikely scenario, but what do I know, I am not an actress 🤷‍♀️
I think everyone performed great, especially given the circumstances. I also appreciate that the guys communicated and came up with the changes quickly and they were truly together in this effort. Again, Vegas/Pete scene was the hardest in my opinion, and it would take way more than one day to get it done right. So good job!
Poor Bump didn’t seem comfortable even with a kiss during the rehearsal, and here is a whole bed they have to use! 🤦‍♀️ He didn’t chicken out, though! 👏🏻 But seriously, more intimate scenes should require more really dedicated workshops. They shouldn’t be thrown at the boys with expectations of showing some great feelings or smooth choreography - again, my unprofessional opinion. 😉

It’s really interesting how different cultures view things differently, and what’s considered “common sense” in one culture is unacceptable or funny for another. 🤩

I am ok with “in your face” bitchy characters - male or female. As a woman, I am not insulted, I’m just tired of dumb bitch characters, and not just in BL, but in general. Unfortunately, in BL it’s more prominent when the writers (mostly women) chose an easy path of introducing a dumb female who can’t take no for an answer, even when she has no chance for objective reasons. That’s the trope I am tired of. If she is a really well written villain - I will be happy to watch her!
And as I said, I am very grateful for all series that introduced normal female characters. Lately, it seems to be much better by the way. Maybe that’s why when I see a dumb character I go “not again!” 😂
As for gay writers, I would love to see more gay romance from them. I really enjoyed “My Ride” the novel and I wish the series didn’t swap Nadya - an original male character for a female, even though she was an example of a normal female in the series.

Yes, there are series with normal female characters, and each time I am very grateful for them! But it’s like going to the dentist for me - out of all the times I went, sometimes it didn’t hurt, but a lot of times it did. So I am very apprehensive every time I go 😂
I agree that Shimizu is not written well and maybe she’s a good girl deep inside 🤔 From what she’s been doing, though, I find her manipulative - with the whole boss situation that she could easily resolve by herself, and visiting Souta uninvited knowing he’s too polite to not let her in. That’s a bitchy behavior to me, BL ot not. We’ll see what she’ll do next, but honestly I am disappointed with this series for now. And that includes Mahiro’s behavior, by the way.
I also hope if the audience voices its disappointment with the trope more often the authors will get the message. 🤞

How common is it for a woman to confess to a man? And how common is it for a man to accept that woman?

I’m asking because where I grew up it was pretty much unheard of. Guys were chasing girls, trying to get their attention and everyone enjoyed the process - it was fun!
If a girl confessed, though, she would be considered an easy target and any serious interest a guy might have would vanish. I’m not saying it’s good or bad - just what I saw. That’s why it’s really interesting to me how different cultures deal with the courtship process.
