Yep, I am done at the beginning of episode 2 when she’s just lying through her teeth to the dude who’s honestly trying to remember things that never happened while feeling grateful towards her as the only person he feels connected to. Whoever thought this scene is funny or cute - I have no idea! She comes off as a manipulative bitch with no compassion. Not my type of a protagonist, sorry. I’m off to my Kdrama world 😉🥂

My exact thoughts! She created this guy, but there’s no sense of responsibility. She’s lying to him while he has no choice but to trust her. That’s just low. I guess I will wait to see more comments. Right now she’s irking me so much I don’t want to continue watching. 😡

What is with the screenwriter? They repeat the same lines four times straight... 🥴
Maybe they get paid per line? 🤷‍♀️

Awesome short movie! Strongberry is the best as always! I would love to see full series about these characters, with them getting back together in the end 🥰

I’m so glad the series took it a step further than the novel and resolved the stepdad issue by actually investigating him and getting him arrested and hopefully prosecuted by law! We don’t get to see enough of that in BLs where usually the perp apologizes and everything is forgotten 🙄
Also, Uea taking his medication and having a talk about his mental health with King is great!
Thankful to the script writers for this, and can’t wait to see the stepdad in handcuffs! 🥰

I agree - overall, the culture in the US is accepting 🥂

I wouldn’t say that everyone in the US accepts gays - there are still parents who kick their gay kids out. But those kids have lots of options nowadays compared to, say, 30 years ago. And public sentiment will be on their side. So yes, it’s a huge progress here, especially compared with some other countries.

Absolutely! I hope BLs and GLs gain more professional script writers, directors and actors, branching out into more genres like medical and police procedurals, law, supernatural and everything in between. We started getting some specs of those, but definitely not enough. Entertainment industry is very important and has huge impact on society, so as BL/GL series attain more professional look, the impact will increase immensely.

Yes, money speaks! 😂 I am not sure how very accepting they are of gay people yet, but at least there’s a huge progress in the entertainment industry - you’re right, not long ago, it would be unthinkable for an idol or a popular actor to join a BL project.
Hopefully, with mostly women being a target audience, they will make actual society a more accepting place, not freaking out if their kids or neighbors happen to be gay. That’s why I think that no matter how silly or unrealistic a BL (or GL) series is - it still is useful in this respect.

Yes, he’s definitely less experienced and it shows, but that’s another reason why I am so happy for a more mature and experienced actor to be in a BL - while Cha Seo Won clearly stands out with his solid acting, not doing Gongchan any favors, it’s a great opportunity for Gongchan to learn a lot and improve his acting skills. And I think this particular plot is perfect for his learning curve as his character lets his older partner to take charge, allowing Gongchan the actor go with the rhythm that Cha Seo Won sets.
So, if a young actor gets experience and betters himself, we only win in the end, so I’m ok with some mishaps for now 😉

To be fair, main couple’s dynamic is very different from the 2nd couple. To start with, Won Young came into the picture identifying himself as a straight man. So the only way any sparks would fly at that point is when he’s under extreme pressure, being cornered unexpectedly. Sparks in this case are not “chemistry” but surprise and attempt to avoid the confrontation. Otherwise, on his side it’s a very calm relationship of student/teacher at that point. Later, he slowly becomes more aware of his feelings, but he can’t show any “sparks” because he’s unsure of the whole situation.
Once they clarify their feelings to each other, Won Young basically lets his older and more experienced boyfriend take charge in every aspect of their relationship, while Tae Joon is being very patient and careful with Won Young. So to me, it’s understandable to not see lust and drama at this point.
Again, we see “sparks” of a confrontation when Tae Joon throws Won Young on the bed, not lust. Of course, in some other dramas it would be an excuse for some violence, which of course would solidify their relationship in the end 🤦‍♀️ Thank god, this was a decent drama without that travesty.
So my point is - I think their relationship is shown in a very logical manner and I wouldn’t expect them to behave out of their characters. There might be more sparks flying in the next two episodes when they get together for good. We’ll see 😊

I really like this series, and I am happy that recently we started getting more experienced actors interested in a BL. I hope it will help the genre to develop and grow out of high school and uni scenery. I’m not against those staples by any means - MSP was a very pleasant surprise, but I would just like to see more of a variety of topics, like any other romantic dramas have.

Here, I like both couples. They are different and it’s so interesting to observe their interactions! It seems like Ho Tae and Won Young just recently figured out their sexuality, but they are approaching their crush in their own way, as it should be, according to their personalities. It’s so nice to see different characters acting properly without the same template for all! 🤩

She's like what? 23? I think we're giving too much credit to the maturity level of university age kids right now,…
I agree, perspective and environment based on which the perspective is created are very important 😊 Of course, people are different, and there were immature girls where I grew up, too, but not that many. Also, not everyone wanted immediate marriage (I didn’t), but on average girls did have long term plans very early 😂 Poor boys had no chance to escape 🤣

I guess I just never saw girls like that. I’m in my late 40s, and I went to college, but where I was, girls were trying to get married at 18-19, so if a guy is not interested - no time wasted, move on to someone who wants a serious relationship 🤷‍♀️ So her being whooping 23 years old is an adult for me, but she behaves like she’s in middle school. I guess it depends on perspective 😂

Title The Eighth Sense Spoiler
I think it’s because Ji Hyun thinks that Jae Won always kisses everyone in sight when he’s drunk and he doesn’t…
Editing could be part of the issue, it is a bit choppy. I still think it’s mostly JW not being emotionally ready for a relationship even though physically he definitely wants it! So he kind of procrastinates, just going with the physical flow of it. I noticed they almost don’t ever talk. They hold hands and there’s a whole lot of physical tension for now. Emotionally, though, JW is a wreck. He even admitted to his doctor that he doesn’t want any relationships with people. So I feel for JH who’s already swept off his feet and ready to start a relationship.

the issue is not the fact crazy exes are unrealistic, coz yes, sadly there are women like that, yes at her age,…
I agree, women like this probably exist in real life (I haven’t seen any, but it doesn’t mean they can’t exist), but inserting them in almost every drama must be tiresome! 😂 I mean, I am tired of watching them that often when I know they are not the norm. Women I’ve met, including myself, wouldn’t be wasting time on a guy who is not interested. There’s enough fish in the sea to not humiliate and torture yourself over a relationship that is not meant to be 🤷‍♀️

Just a quick question. How can that European dude work in a bar without understanding basic orders? Does it really happen in Korea?
I mean, I am an immigrant, and I live in the USA where you get people from all over the world, but I find it hard to imagine any business would hire a person to work the counter without a word of English 🤷‍♀️

My other thing is the token bitch ex. Come on already! It’s not middle school! Can we please move on from totally unreasonable and unrealistic female characters? 🙏 At her age, what woman would run after a dude who she hasn’t even seen for two years and who’s obviously not interested in her? Pleeease! 🤦‍♀️
Ae Rin was more believable, quickly repositioning herself as “just friends” - that’s a girl I can see in real life.
And JW’s friends? Who needs enemies? 🙀

i love it so much, but I don't get why they dont talk about what happened in the surfing trip.
I think it’s because Ji Hyun thinks that Jae Won always kisses everyone in sight when he’s drunk and he doesn’t remember that kiss. So he’s keeping quiet about it. Jae Won doesn’t seem too ready to jump into a relationship, so even if he remembers that kiss he’s not willing to discuss it.

I’m glad I checked the comments before I watched this episode. Looks just like what I figured from the preview last week - yet another rape leading to an undoubtedly wonderful romance! 🤯 What a pile of bullshit!
Normally, I am not dropping series, but I am making an exception for this one. I’m out✌️

so I'm not the only one who wants her to be hit my lightening?
For sure! The sister drove me nuts! I don’t know if it’s an actress or a director, but if you hear that your father molested your brother - wouldn’t you react at least mildly surprised? She’s just standing here, all miserable, clinging to Uea not letting him throw hands. Girl, it’s not about you, let him go throw some punches, it’s therapeutic. And please, show some reaction to the news of your daddy’s behavior.
