Who puts down a book they want ?!? Nobody, that's who
I’d be practically glued to the book I want, that’s for sure 😂 I’ve left my purse with all my IDs and credit cards while clutching my book! 🤦♀️ Thankfully, a wonderful kind soul mailed my purse with all the stuff to me 🙏🥰
Living in Japan for 5 years, I've noticed that my relatives here are super open when it comes to discussing family…
Thank you very much for your response! 😊 I’m glad it’s just a trope - that’s what I was hoping for. Of course, every family is different, I was just curious if the popular trope reflects the most common practice as I am not familiar with Japanese or Thai cultures, but I like to learn from people who actually know the subject.
Actually, the terrible environment in here was only caused by Yuki. His parents truly do care about Yutaka, they…
I agree that Yuki should take it up with his parents, but unfortunately bullies are cowards who don’t dare go against people they fear. They prefer to harass people who won’t retaliate. 😡
Honest question to people who know the culture. I noticed it’s a common trope for parents to either bring in an adopted child or get married and bring in a stepchild without their own kids’ prior knowledge. Is that something specific only to Japanese and Thai dramas, or does it happen in real life? Thank you 😊

I think parents hugely contributed to the bad environment. To start with, it looks like Yuki was surprised to see a new family member. So they never talked to him about it even though he was old enough to be taken into consideration. Then, they completely ignored nasty remarks from their older son towards their younger. So Yuki was encouraged by their silence. So I disagree that Yuki is the only one to blame. Maybe it’s different in the original source, but from what I see in the series - they are the cause of the situation.
they've already established that pat lived in LA (a very progressive city) and how he and his friend group are…
Very true. In a company my husband was working for (about 15 years ago), a guy made a creepy comment to a girl, saying she looked so good she wouldn’t have any issues finding a job anywhere. Fired for sexual harassment. He never touched her, just a nasty comment - done.

Exactly. I think he picked up some “woke” language instead of “work” language. I would be cheering for him if he was fighting the “lazy seniority” culture at work - that would be very progressive for his workplace. It would be also progressive to say to that bastard: “What you’re doing right now is a sexual harassment and I will report you for that”.

But this is not progressive, it’s just plain idiotic 🤦♀️ I have lived in the US for over 25 years, and I have yet to meet a “straight white male” who would behave like that! I have seen catcalls to women, but not something like this out of blue towards a man! Straight men by default are not interested in men 🤦♀️ Overall, the whole assignment of disgusting behavior to one group of people is disgusting in itself. So I don’t see anything progressive about it. If they were trying to show Pat’s “social awareness” or whatever - epic fail in my book. Also, if Pat is so “americanized”, he better know what “micromanage” means. It’s used in the workforce much more often than “straight white male” as a perp. Oh, wait, I forgot he lived in LA 😂
Yeah, I don’t know what being a straight white male has to do with being a sexual harasser 😡 It doesn’t…
I don’t know about Thailand, but that translation irked me to no end. Do they seriously think that all straight white males give a shit about guys’ asses? 🤦♀️ What about straight white women? I swear I don’t care about other women’s boobs! 🙀
Yeah, I don’t know what being a straight white male has to do with being a sexual harasser 😡 It doesn’t…
That woube a better translation! I would say:”Stop acting like a fucking pervert!” See? There you go - a behavior described exactly as it should be, not with a blanket statement that covers mostly innocent people 🤷♀️
That translation of whatever Pat said to the gross guy was offensive and non-applicable. "straight white male"?…
Yeah, I don’t know what being a straight white male has to do with being a sexual harasser 😡 It doesn’t make any logical sense to me. If he’s straight - he wouldn’t think about another male’s ass or sexual preferences. Being white is totally off the wall - race has nothing to do with this kind of disgusting behavior.
Seriously, what was that remark about? 🤷♀️
I would definitely punch that idiot and cuss him out, but that phrase wouldn’t be on my mind - I’d have some other words of choice. 🤬
I think this is one of the best depictions of workplace environment I’ve ever seen in a BL! Even though this particular environment is infested with lazy and obnoxious snakes (no offense to actual snakes). I’m pleasantly surprised that we don’t even get to see the actual product the company is advertising (unlike in some other series 🙄) - the plot is really centered around Pat with minimal product placement 👏🏻
I have to mention that casting did an awesome job with Jeng’s dad looking like an older version of Jeng! His daddy is so handsome! I believe this actor (Pete) was supposed to play Kinn’s father in the original production attempt. He looked like a serious mafia in the original trailer! 😻 Can’t wait to see more of him!
