Good for you that you stopped! Movies are seriously watered down from the originals, so they are watchable. I dropped Addicted, got burned by VegasPete (total trash) and after that I rarely touch the novels. I was heavily debating if I should even watch KinnPorsche because of VP story. But thankfully, they avoided the trashy parts.
Anyway, out of Asian BL novels, I enjoyed My Ride where the novel was better than the series, and it happened to be written by a gay man. Go figure, ha? 🤷‍♀️

Not only I watched all three movies/series, I also read the novel based on which Uncontrolled Love was filmed. The poor dude was abused first and foremost by his “knight”, including SA.
I thought it was just a fluke of one sick lady’s imagination. So I read My Beloved Enemy - again, absolutely unrealistic rape as a start of a romance. I thought, third time is a charm, right? But oh no, I tried to read Addicted novel, and I couldn’t get through the complete and utter demolition of Gu Hai’s character. Again, brutal SA. They better do a paper on what’s wrong with those women. Maybe they can be helped. 🤦‍♀️
Sorry, I didn’t mean to ruin the fun - those illogical, brutal idiots just make me climb up the wall!
I have to say that I enjoy reading some American authors who do their homework and provide much better quality BL novels.

And do they realize that the novels were written by straight women who have no clue what they’re talking about, just pouring out their fantasies that include violent rape as a start of a romantic relationship? 🤯 What queer or gay anything??? There were no queer or gay people involved in creating those novels! 🤦‍♀️

They do tend to milk the BL money machine, but sometimes you can find nice stuff among pure trash. And sometimes, even trash is so bad it’s actually hilarious and therefore a masterpiece in itself 🤷‍♀️

It’s like they all decide on a “plot of the month” and just hack at it. Mafia, time travel, college students, coffee shops, musicians, doctors… 🤷‍♀️

Realistically speaking, Ian probably ran away as usual 🤦‍♀️
BL speaking, Eddy chased after Ian, dragged him into the locker room (with minimal resistance from Ian of course), performed a perfect “slip and catch” when Ian accidentally tripped on his own feet, stared into Ian’s eyes for at least 32 seconds, carefully shoved Ian against the wall for a mandatory kabedon, and gave him a wet washcloth rubdown to prevent early death from being sweaty after the chase. Of course, Eddy made a grave mistake of using Thailand’s washcloth trope in a Korean BL, which automatically gave him “Game Over” status. That’s why he had to resume his confession at the beginning of Episode 5. 🤷‍♀️

Exactly! Even if we didn’t know that it’s a BL so the girl is doomed by default - if a guy doesn’t show any romantic interest in you - just stop and go find someone who will pursue you. Especially, while you’re not that invested into this relationship. To me, it’s a much better option. She’s cute enough to be able to choose her suitor from a lineup of guys who want to be with her. 🤷‍♀️
