i didn't understand about tian yuan's brother name. can someone explain for me?
there’s a saying in Chinese: 天圆地方 (tiān yuán dì fāng) meaning the sky/heaven is round, the earth is square. so when the maid asked hahaha don’t tell me your siblings name is Di Fang, and he says oh, yes it is! it’s funny to her bc the names simply complete the idiom.

ohhhhh. so, it’s prob bc I never watch dark, crime, suspenseful dramas. that’s where the idea comes from for me. 😬I’m a romcom, slice of life fanatic. so this storyline caught me by surprise.
Our generation was really good, way better than overdo. People didn't like it cause they only watched that drama…
Our Gen rated 7.9 here on MDL and Overdo at a 7.4 is mind boggling. I didn’t like Our Gen bc I simply didn’t like the story. I also didn’t feel the chemistry between the leads and that was pretty disappointing considering they already had TPR together. But just my opinion ofc. Either way, I think overdo worthy of a watch regardless of Our Gen. Just don’t want people to pass this up bc of a number.
I encourage fans to WATCH THIS DRAMA at least up to episode 7-8. things change. the story picks up. it’s actually quite intriguing. here’s a back story if anyone needs it to help them get over the initial hump:
ZLH was switched at birth on accident as far as we know. So he belongs to the Murong family by birth but grew up in the Li family. But bc of this, it’s almost like he doesn’t belong to either family and is essentially hated by both sides. He had a very very troubled childhood. He was wrongly convicted of murder and was sentenced to prison for 3 years.
WCR has her own story, and she had an even harder childhood which comes to light as the story progresses. They both meet by a stroke of luck and became each others confidant and sort of bf/gf for a short period of time before life happens and they are forced apart and into their respective roles that leads them to present day.
the drama now answers why things happened the way they did AND it’s a story of revenge. don’t pass this up. 7.4 is a little odd imo. this is at least an 8. I also initially gave a bad review but I powered through bc someone on here told me to continue. it’s worth a watch or at least a second chance. NO WAY is this worse than ZLH’s OUR GENERATION.

I must agree. that scene was really dumb. but if you can bear it and ignore those scenes, the rest of the storyline is pretty intriguing and a little dark/suspenseful.

given chinas strict censorship, I’m surprised this drama is talking about these hard topics. im glad it’s being talked about to shed light and create awareness. I’m just surprised is all.
totally!!! I’m so surprised. I think the director went too hard at the beginning to create suspense and it became very confusing. but as the story unravels things are making sense and lots of stuff is pretty gut wrenching. I’m surprised the rating isn’t going up. maybe people gave up.
this harsh lighting that’s supposed to mimic the “sun” or “daylight hours” needs ta go. not only does it wash out the scenes but also sometimes the actors faces. wth is up with that lighting
