harsh. but I respect that š«”SML doing a good job looking like a greaseball with a hidden agenda
heyyyy!!! I didnāt think of SML going for Zhao. I think I can wholeheartedly support that! but Gong seems to be a better fit for her, or at least thatās how the drama feels
i actuallyā¦.agree! weird since SML isnāt exactly the most honest guy. but chemistry IS there.
I think SML is basically exhibiting a main lead trope now. the⦠only getting close to someone for a specific reason but of course falling for the someone accidentally after getting to know them. I mean if one watches dramas, they are familiar. thatās prob why my drama heart is confused like oop sir whatās happening!!!
also want to add thereās something to be said about a man who shows up and goes after what he wants. and right…
that actually makes me feel bad for SML more. he doesnāt seem to be in control of his own life. ML is certainly very attentive - letting her take his car to visit her parents, asking her about her fingersā¦. I mean, theyāre still my mains š„°
Okay hear me out. I also did not like Pei and I donāt LOVE HIM or anything now. Just seems like a real greasy…
also want to add thereās something to be said about a man who shows up and goes after what he wants. and right now, ML isnāt exhibiting this behavior but SML is. openly going for what you want is attractive. paying attention to little things is attractive. and doing this all in a Bentley, wellā¦itās a bonus. š
And I also get the vibe that Pei doesnāt even know the details of the incident. He probably is just competing…
itās starting to feel like how Pei is, is a product of how his dad treats him. he seems quite capable on his own but the comparison and pressure his dad forces onto him has made him into this person he is today.
Okay hear me out. I also did not like Pei and I donāt LOVE HIM or anything now. Just seems like a real greasy character. But specifically in these two episodes, Iāve grown kind of fond of him.
I like how we can tell he might actually be developing feelings for the FL himself, something outside of what his motives were. And with that, heās not afraid to pursue - ask her to dance, buy her coffee etc. and the convo in the car? I mean, I def felt some tension and that was enjoyable to watch for me. I also want to give him credit for lighting that fire under the male lead.
Yes, I know his moral compass likely isnāt pointing straight butā¦. Just specifically these two episodes, I didnāt hate watching him onscreen. š
I reallyyyy hate this trope where the ML or FL feel like they're undeserving of love....ESPECIALLY when it's the…
it is indeed frustrating but the truth is, cdramas have a very narrow space to take creative liberties when creating angst. they obviously want to illustrate a push and pull to stir up our emotions so the union can FEEL that much better. but they canāt have male lead feel unsure, or runaway bc theyāre too busy with work or they have their own dreams they want to accomplish first. all of this is seen as weak and almost impure in the eyes of the Chinese gov/censorship. so instead, they have to illustrate a strong male lead thatās plagued by his past and he himself is sacrificing his happiness in order for FL to be happy. so viewers are supposed to be left feeling awwww heās doing what he thinks is best for herrrr. š¤·š»āāļødef an overused trope but it is what it is with these cdramas!
