“somebody behind the scenes is giving these two very specific instructions” YES!!!! you right 🥰 it’s one of the first mainland Chinese dramas to hire an intimacy coordinator for these scenes! it’s common in western shows and even Taiwanese shows but incredibly rare or nonexistent in Chinese dramas. they’re usually just instructions given by the director and assistant directors

intimacy coordinators review the actors’ contracts that spell out EXACTLY what they’re willing and unwilling to do. and their main job is to make sure the actors feel comfortable and safe! that’s prob why they look so good in sensual scenes. there’s someone monitoring every movement.

it was giving Sang Yan in first frost when he walked into his bar in his suit and white shirt. Chinese men sure know how to wrap themselves up like a pretty present 😩

I keep rewatching and am curious why doesn’t his character correct her? like why doesn’t Luke say, I didn’t buy the bag to silence you. and instead makes her think otherwise?

I realize it’s not that deep but did anyone else cry when he accused her in the car in episode 5? broke my whole heart. and the way she looked so sad but tried to hide it and rationalize that it was prob just whatever to him. 🥲 felt the sting again when she talked to him like the expensive bag was like an informal NDA

took me by surprise honestly. I’m used to handholding by around episode 6-8 and a kiss by ep 12-14 but I guess the director was like lol u thought.

can we talk about her silly little handwritten note to him the morning after??? in Chinese, it’s usually said to someone who has done hard work, kinda like a great job for working so hard. I mean yes but no??!!?! girl why would you write that 😭😂
