The Pages of a Fairytale

I only watched the first 2 episodes and I just have to drop it. Maybe this style of drama is not for me. It feels…
If it's the bits where the camera work changes and Mikuri is talking like she's being interviewed by someone, those parts are just Mikuri's imagination so that we can get some insight into her thoughts and feelings. They do this throughout the series in reference to lots of different Japanese programs that actually exist. Documentary programs, news channels, reality shows, game shows, etc. It threw me off at first too, but once I figured out that that was what they were doing, I found the drama to be a breeze to get through. Of course, you don't have to watch the drama if it's not for you. Just thought I would explain what those bits were about if they were keeping you from engaging with the story.

i completely agree with you! i wish there were a way for collecting articles and lists that we are interested…
I was actually about to make a post in the suggestions about it, so thanks for the link. I've voted for the suggestion and left a comment, so maybe that will bring us a step closer to getting something like this implemented.

I really appreciate the MDLers who've been taking time to write up articles like this explaining certain franchises and genres, etc. for all of us who are newbs about those particular dramas. For example, I've been intrigued by all the Wuxia, Xinxia, etc. dramas out there but overwhelmed by how many there are and how super detailed the universe for each genre is. And then someone decides to write some articles explaining those particular drama genres, and suddenly I'm even More intrigued to watch them, lol! It's the same here. I would have never even known Novoland was a thing if this article did not exist, and now I really want to watch some Novoland dramas. I said it on one of the Wuxia/Xinxia articles, and I'll say it again here, but I really wish there were a way to 'add' articles you really like to a list or something somewhere on MDL so that you can easily go back to them if you want/need. They're a really good resource when you're delving into something new.

Very good article, although I haven't watched any of the drama's you mentioned I do intend to at some point in…
Here here! What I think I find the most frustrating about the insistence on 'strong female leads' is that kindness and gentleness and thoughtfulness and politeness (I could keep going but I won't) are now seen as weaknesses in female characters. But how is being a nice person a weakness? It takes resiliency and strength of character, in my opinion, to continue being kind despite life's difficulties.

I would definitely add A Thousand Good Nights to this list. It's a slower paced, thoughtful drama with a very realistic story, and a great example of the what modern Taiwanese dramas can be.

I wish there were a way to bookmark articles on this site, because I would bookmark this one and the one you did on Xinxia dramas just to keep for my own reference. I don't currently watch either of these genres, but I want to eventually, so these articles are very useful.

I'm not even finished reading and I just had to stop to say that the non-stop metaphors and similes and alliteration and puns and absolute literary MAGNIFICENCE of this article is a thing to behold.

Here I am with my feet firmly planted calling out to the drama gods to say 'We want season 2! We want season 2! We want season 2!'

I started the first episode over the weekend and was really enjoying it until I got towards the end of the ep and realized the romance in this might be more physical than I'm interested in, then I read a comment that said there's 1-2 sex scenes per ep. Can someone please spoil it for me and let me know how graphic these scenes are? Is it more implied, is there straight on nudity, or is it like the original Fated to Love You where the leads just rolled around in sheets in a manner that was mostly kind of funny to watch cause there bodies were clearly not touching? I'm not interested in watching anything stronger than what you see in dramas like Last Cinderella (Japanese) and Just You (Taiwanese), so thanks in advance for the spoil.

Title Hello, Me! Spoiler
I thought it was pretty obvious from the beginning that this is fantasy. The show description says, "One day,…
I agree with jjonghaos about the shaman bits. They only seem to show up when the writer needs to make something happen then they disappear for large chunks of time and I kind of forget they're in the story. I would have liked that aspect of the story to have been weaved in a bit better and have a little more prominence. Not a whole lot as it works for that stuff to be working in the background, but I would have liked to see into that world just a bit more.

Until ep 13 there is not any romance between hani adult and yoo hyun
There's been romance. It just hasn't been flashy or overt. But she's definitely starting to notice him in a way she hadn't before.

Title Hello, Me!
Is this a slow burn romance? Everyone is saying not much going on. Debating if I should watch this or not
I second mangoapricot's comment. This drama definitely focuses more on the female lead overcoming her past and learning how to really live life again. The romance is a nice little bonus to the story.

I prefer older Hani's hairstyle in the initial episodes. The current hairstyle doesn't suit her. Wish they didn't…
I very much agree. I hate the new hairstyle.

Hello, Me! really is a unexpected gem. I wasn't expecting much at first, but it's really grown on me as I've watched.

I finally got my episode count for this sorted out on my currently watching list, and now it says I've watched 24 of 16 episodes.... I think I'm just gonna give up at this point, lol.
