Girls Generation has been on my list for awhile. It looks like it might be a rather unique drama among Kdramas in terms of subject matter and like the pacing and style of storytelling would be unique as well. Definitely want to check it out at some point.
I watched my ID is gangnam beauty and it's not that similar ,only in some points
I've watched ID as well, and the general premise is pretty close to the same in both, in my opinion. Both girls going to extreme lengths to alter their appearance in order to deal with their feelings of being unattractive and unwanted, both male leads being described as being aloof and cold, and both male leads being the ones to help the female lead see her true, inner beauty. Not to mention both male leads are played by the same actor, lol. Of course, the drama hasn't come out yet, so the stories might be more different from each other than they first appear. I also haven't read the webcomic, so it might go in some different directions from ID as well. But right now, based on both drama's premises, the only major differences between them is the age group of the characters and one female lead gets plastic surgery while the other goes the makeup route in order to drastically change their appearances. I don't mean any of this as an insult to either drama or as a critique of either story, btw. I don't think having the same general premise between two stories automatically makes one inferior to the other. I'm just saying they are discussing very similar territory in a very similar way.
So I guess this isn't going to be a full season but rather an episode special? I'm a little disappointed. I was excited to sit down and watch another season of these girls making infuriating decisions but still be a lot of fun to watch doing it, lol.
This is one of those times when I wish there were the option on kisskh to add an article to a Favorite Articles list, so I can come back at a later date to try some of these recipes.
Does anyone happen to know how I might be able to get my hands on copies of the original manhwa for this? I don't need an English translation, the original Korean is fine.
I found the first season frustrating to watch at times, but dang it if I don't plan on parking my butt down in front of my computer and watching every second of this second season, lol.
That has to be what they are doing, because it doesn't make any sense otherwise.
Has it been officially announced? I know after some of my own digging that the way this ended was intentional with the possibility of a season 2 if this season did well, but there was nothing confirmed. (I'm the one who wrote two novels farther up in the comments reporting what I'd discovered, lol.) I hope there will be a season 2. It's probably the least polished (in terms of writing) version of the story so far, but I enjoyed the quick pace of this version a lot as it lessoned some of the over-the-top angst of the original.
I watched Shomuni 2013 without knowing really anything about it or that it was the a sequel to three earlier dramas. It must have been entertaining enough, because I remember finishing it, but it must not have been that Good, because I remember very little about what happened In it, lol. I'll have to check out the first three seasons now.
Another update for you guys on this drama. I'll copy and paste the info below. (Although I'm pretty sure no one else is paying attention to this drama anymore at this point, but whatever, lol.)
'10 episodes is all there is to it. The Japanese remake meant to feature only the first half of the original anyway. I won't be surprised if there'll be news of a S2 though since it's very popular. But as of right now, nothing has been decided yet.'
'If ever there was ((she's referencing whether there were plans for a season 2)), they didn't share it with the public (as far as I know). They're probably holding off on announcing it given what's going on. Plus, it's still airing on Fuji TV.'
'If it's any consolation, it was originally exclusive to FOD (and Youku for China), but because it was always trending during its run, FujiTV decided to air it as well - albeit, an edited version. So a S2 is most likely to happen. And to be fair, FOD had always introduced the drama as a remake of the first half of the original. Probably, to set clear expectations and at the same time offer viewers something to look forward to. So the confusion is only among us English speaking viewers.'
So it looks like a season 2 is likely, which I'm definitely looking forward to.
