Apparently a bunch of scenes had to be cut because it was under a different director that had to be replaced because her pace was too slow. I can't remember exactly but they only had 3-4 months to film or something so they couldn't refilm everything.
In novel, 27 is a boy/slave she rescued and trained for years, she considers him as her family.
In the novel 27 is never actually hurt at all, just locked in the shed with Mingyi. So this doesn't help with what happens in the drama. Sorry lol
