In my opinion, Silent Reading/Modu is a masterpiece, but keep in mind that Priest prioritizes plot above all else, with romance being a slow burn and more of a subplot. If you didn’t enjoy Sha Po Lang, which focuses heavily on politics, you might not like this one either, but it’s worth giving it a try. The scenes I mentioned were originally in the script but were cut from the drama. They’re present in the novel, though, and are more intimate. For example, the final car scene in the drama was supposed to show Pei holding LWZ’s hand, but it was cut😩. In the novel, he actually kisses the hand.
I’m so excited to see charliebabe again i always love a non stereotypical couple but, the most I’m looking forward to is kentakim as kenta is my absolute favorite and can’t wait to see more of him.
People are unhappy everywhere tik tok, twitter x, instagram, tumblr and i’m glad cuz korea keeps on taking the queer source material and changing them for their straight audience. Even china which have so many restrictions keeps on adding censored lgbt stories even in their straight dramas. Heesu in class 2 is one of the best manhwa where characters actually put label on things and sexuality is talked about now it’s on its way of becoming generic kdrama. I was honestly loving the cute moments and enjoying the show but now i just feel sad.
how much was deleted i wanna know before watching there was 40/50 min episode so are you sure there was too many…
In episode 9, they removed the conversation between Tao ze and lwz about Pei su and how they’re not fighting as much anymore, as well as the moment when Pei su puts the jacket on Lou Weizhou. In episode 10, cuts include the absence of cat scenes, Pei Su looking at lwz pitifully, and the car scene being abruptly cut and replaced with a voiceover. Instead of showing the scene where Pei Su holds Lou lwz hand and Lwz scolds him, the voiceover is used. These scenes were in the script, as well as in novel but unfortunately, they were cut in the new censored version, and the editing feels noticeably odd as a result.
Oh, I totally forgot about that released script. So we do have a way to check what was cut ...but maybe it's better…
You’re right it’s better not to know but the deleted scenes are becoming obvious without reading the script especially for someone who has read the novel.
Well i had a little hope that maybe they won’t censor the remaining eps but it looks like that’s not the case, oh well i’m gonna still watch cuz the casting is perfect, but gonna miss my boys being gay for each other. Also what was the reason for cutting the interrogation scene, it was the first time we see pei su working a SID. And Pei su putting jacket on lou zhao was obviously cut and the last car scene was cut mid conversation😐 pei su holding lou weizhou hand scene and him feeding the cat. All were there in the script released but got cut in new more censored version. And the cuts are too abvious.
There's a released script? Is it available somewhere in English or chinese only? I don't mind either way, only…
Hi, yes the director released it when it seemed like it wouldn't air again. I'm not sure where, but people on Tumblr have been posting the full script in english.
I feel it's cause some stuff from the webtoon was missing, but i can't be sure, cause i didn't read it. But The…
Actually the opposite happened, this season was actually stretched because the flashbacks it’s based on is really short and beom seok was actually given more depth and suho character personality was combined with the actual second lead of whc ben park who will appear in season 2.
They've removed the car scene, and I don't understand the point if I wanted to watch a crime show with male characters, I could have picked from thousands out there. Modu/Silent Reading is my favorite novel by Priest, and I love her work because it's not focused on romance. The characters just happen to be queer, and those subtle, slow-burn moments bring me more satisfaction than typical romance novels. and considering the whole script was released by the director i’ll be watching it with bittersweet feeling of what we could’ve have. Oh well, it seems like danmei fans will never get a win.
