Ep2 was a lot more entertaining. Less dark and less heavy handed than ep1 in term of crazy outrageous actions from evil characters. The lead couple works pretty well. FL lead is silly funny but not so stupid and she seems to have more resources than expected. ML is smartass funny and not as jinxed as his neighbors call him. That was a very enjoyable ep with funny lines.
a lot happened in the first episode, i wonder what the pacing for the rest of the episodes will be like.
I hope it won't be as fast paced as in ep1. I wonder how they will balance the funny silly innocent tone of the leads with the scary scheming outrageous dark tone of the bad guys.
The first episode is very cringeworthy and cheesy but I shouldn't be complaining about that since it's expected…
The trailer was fine. The surprise is that it is not what the trailer sold. Ep1 was dark with some outrageous moments. Especially the Chairman talking to people like they are trash or slapping people for free or having people manipulated, drugged, killed, drowned, suicided... I don't know if they wanted to impress with this but it was more nerve wacking than impressing.
The slapping scene was the most terrible. The guy doesn't have any authority as parent or boss or professor... He slaps an adult man like he is his slave who made a mistake.
The mystery about the realtionship between ML family and the prophet mom is ok. It will be answered in time. It is just that ep1 raised some questions of logic regarding the behavior of some character. Especially the mom and daughter.
The Chairman was unsufferable for me but I am anticipating his son to be even worse... Dad is an evil in a iron gauntlet. Son is the same evil in a fur gauntlet.
It reminded me of these really old kdrama where the bad guy kills someone and or frame the ML who disappears and miraculously reappears years later with a new identity for revenge against bad guy and his powerful empire. Add to this some prophet women who predict the future and have super power of mind controlling anyone but can't escape or won't escape. FL is immature then turns into a scheming cold woman and then is immature again. ML promising guy who becomes the calamity or is it the laughingstock of the village. Plenty of tropes and jumps of tone from very dark to completely silly via mom dies saving ML. The mix was quite not digestible ...
But OK, it is just a first ep. I'll give it its chance for a few more of them.
what are your doubts? I think it has everything for success....
Regarding Wuxia, I have debated it some days ago in here. I understand that people think it looks wuxia. I surely hope it is not and we will be able to confirm it as from next saturday.
I also liked the balance between different genres in FNOS. For me it is more of a fantasy modern drama with an historical part. I hope AOS does not have projection or some kind of time traveling in a 'future and modern time" . But Ok, I won't overthink it in order to be surprised.
These two episodes were okay not better than previous ones. The whole stuff with her ex dragged out in both episodes,…
Ep 7 was a bit draggy but still has good moments especially the flashbacks on ML's and FL's relationship over the last five years. It was super funny to watch but also a bit sad for the ML. I laud him for going throught all that and still hid his feelings, kept his cool, his professionalism and helped and supported her.
Ep8 : hello drama tropes! childhood friends, orphanage, clingy ex bf, confused FL, jealousy from misunderstanding, annoying SFL in full bitch mode, stalker sneaking around FL... I was like wtf? ... I also hope next eps will be more enjoyable.
So the lesson to learn from episode 8 is that all what she sees is only a partial view and a view from her own perspective. So a disk seen from above is a sphere in reality and a stair going into the cave could be just be a drawing on the wall. Good. Now she can doubt anything she sees in her visions ...
what are your doubts? I think it has everything for success....
Historical fantasy drama is a genre South Korea should develop as there is not a lot of them. This one seems to be different. It has more fantasy and some kind of fusion style, a mix of traditional and modern influences. Especially the hairstyles... :)
Can't wait for next satruday see how it really looks like.
My theory on how the stalker “came back alive” was of how the mom actually killed him or not. We never got…
When the stalker attacked Da Hyun she was alone in the restaurant. After she realized he was "dead", she had the time to go to the police station and come back to find her mom and grandma looking at the body. So I don't think the mom stabbed him.
Probably Da Hyun hit his head with something making him fall unconscious an bleed and they thought he was fead. They all made a wrong decision. They should have called the cops. The decision of the mom and grandma makes them suspicious.
I don't know, I think maknae cop just has a high sense of justice to the point that he thought he want to take…
"a high sense of justice to the point that he thought he want to take the matter upon himself."
That's what all vigilantes think they have and do. But this is not justice. This is a crime and a tort. If he " does not trust the law", why he works as an agent of the Law? To have the opportunity to bring his own justice? Beating a poor man half drunk in a street?
So many red flags about this guy. What he did in ep4 is legally enough force him to quit the badge and be trialed.
