Daeho universe is one where the spirit and the body are distinctive one from the other. This is why they can exchange bodies or take a "dead" body with no spirit and live in it or shift into another living body with a spirit.

What I understand from this is that Jang Uk is Jang Kang's biological son. The body is from him but the spirit was fathered by the King's spirit. Knowing this, Jang Kang blocked his son's gate of energy and abandonned the son and mother and decided to live as a vagabond. The people seeing this understood and circulated the rumour that he was the biological son of another man.

It is the way I see it at this stage. Maybe we will have more explanations later.

I also liked their work I have watched. Hope this one ends well too although it has a more complicated set up.

Good question because I am also asking myself "What happens to the soul or spirit of the person the soul shifter has replaced in the body?". Does it dies and go to the afterlife? Are they in limbo? Are they somewhere in the body but silenced?Or are they in the body the soul shifter left? ... I hope we have a good explanation in the coming eps... because I also fear for the real Mu Deok Yi.

The story is set in Daeho country in a fictional period. Nothing to do with South Korea.

Agree they should develop this genre more. If AOS is successful maybe it can convince korean producers to make more of them.

This drama uses many influences to create the Daeho universe.

This drama creates its own universe using influences from various cultures. The swordfights are barely xianxia and look like most videogames where swords create magic like ice or waves of energy and bows use arrows of energy. The universe includes usual kdrama historical clothes with more audacity in the pattern and fabrics and colors. One guy has earrings. The hairstyle are cleary modern hairstyle. Music has a fusion influence including obvious modern drums rythms and guitar riffs.

People who really accuse others of robbing xianxia (and I have seen some of them even before this drama starts) just because they have seen an asian character fighting with a sword should go back to the definition of what xianxia is before they accuse others. They are too narrow minded to watch something beyond their grasp. They should just stay with their xianxia from communist China and their brainwashing propaganda about duty.

I also liked the two lead actors and their character especially the personality of the girl. But at some stage, it was clear that they would not end up together. Because FL's daughter was clearly not ML's daughter and she barely knew about him. Just throught a diary so it meant he was not in their life anymore. I was not in a mood to watch a sad ending so I dropped it.

Probably it is a good drama with a realistic depiction of first love but it was just not for me.

This drama is going to be long and the leads will surely go thought high and low but I just hope they end up together. I have to say I don't really know how because it is a spirit in the body of another person... I wish it is not a fckd up ending like in some chinese xianxia where duty and sacrifice comes before love.

I reluctantly dropped 2521 at ep9. I was sure I could not stomach the probable ending. I hope this one does not have an upsetting ending.

Maybe they all think he doesn't really looks like his dad or his mom... So they have fun of him. Without knowing the truth.

After Chan Sung accompany Man Wol in the afterlife, they don't see each other anymore. The Man Wol and Chan Sung who meet in the very end are their reincarnations who meet in the future,

If the give Korean Odyssy a second season if a good ending, I will try both seasons.

He did not recognize her (of course another face) and she felt relieved. Also she asked herself he probably did not recognized the bird as if it could be a danger for her if he did.

Hotel del Luna's ending was inevitable. She had to cross the bridge. I did not watch Korean Odyseey but I read it was disappointing. Yes, let's hope for a better ending here.

She became an assassin and he is mage family so probably they split at some point and she does not really look at him like he is her childhood crush. But he looks like he had a special affection for her... Things will become complicated anyway with all this soul shift...

Ep1 was fun. The origins of Jang Uk and Mu Deok Yi are quite complicated and unclear but their adult version look good together and their chemistry was fine for a start. Lots of confusion to expect though... Ep2 please!

Mages are magicians who obey an order, a caste. Wizards and sorcerers usually don't. Wizards work for the bright side and against evil side. Sorcerers used to work for the dark/evil side but now the difference is not so obvious since... Harry Potter.

I also like the set up of the stage and characters. Let's see how it evolves now and I am waiting for the moment when everything gets ot of hand with all these people linked by unmentionable ties...
