Title Alchemy of Souls Spoiler
I'm more curious as to what happened to the souls of Mu deok and Jang Gang. If the king's soul is in Jang Gang's…
There is soul exchange and soul replacement. The King and Jang Kang exchanged souls for seven days one taking the body of the other. It is a mutual agreement so nothing wrong in this. I don't share the theory that the King and Jang Kang's soul died within these seven days. The King would have no interest to live as Kang Jang and to block his son's gate of energy. It is Jang Kang who sealed the gate of energy of his son whose spirit was fathered by the King.

Nak Su shifted soul to take control of someone else's body. This in itself is sorcery and a crime as it is forced. It is not clear if the soul replaced just dies or if it is still there but suppressed. In any case Nak Su cannot go on possessing bodies. Sooner or later she will have to die. She is just here to help Jang Uk and avenge her family. She will keep the name Mu Deok Yi since she is living as Mu Deok Yi. All this tell that probably the ending won't be happy unless Jang Uk finds something to help Nak Su.

I am going to break my head if this isn't a HEA, the Hong sisters are notorious for the bittersweet endings and…
Most Hong sisters' dramas have happy ending but this one probably won't. Probably a bittersweet one.

My theory. Jang Gang (Jang Uk's father) died in the king's body because the king's body was too weak for him to…
The killing of Nak Soo's family happened more than 10 years ago. Way before the King and Jang Kang swapped bodies. So it was Jang Kang who was there at the killing. Now does this prevent ML and FL to be together? ... As per the story, he is biologically Jang Kang's son but his spirit was fathered by the King.

REMIND ME CDRAMAS
Not me. Cdrama historical drama suck with all their talking about morals and duty and their convoluted plots where a maid is always killed. This is simplier and good fun so far.

OMG so basically you were a weak person and you let a person of authority slap you when he had no right to do it. And the worse thing in all this is that you still consider something crazy like this to be a normal thing to happen. Maybe you want more of i?

It is not because it happens that it is acceptable.

Back to the drama, it is totally unacceptable that the chairman slapped a person he barely knew. This is apology of gratuitous violence and it contributes nothing to the story. It is just made to upset people and make their blood boiL In short it is bs.

You must be very stupid and have no sense of pride to let another man slap you as an adult. Especially a man of church who if he followed the rules of his religion would have no right to do what he did to you.

Two episodes in and this is already my favorite drama of the year so far.
Apart from his cameos in True Beauty and Kiss Sixth sense, I have not seen Lee Jae Wook since Do Do Sol. He did really well in the drama but the story fell flat. I am happy to see him here and he is really nailing his role so far.

I have to say I liked Jung So Min in My father is Strange but I dropped many of her dramas afterwards. I like her here. I like the chemistry between Jang Wook and Mu Deok Yi.

So far the interaction between these two is the cream of the crop.

You should definitively watch From now on Showtime. This is no brainer. Just a consistent fun entertaining drama with endearing characters. Just watch it and thank me later ;)

I am not watching Eve even if I love Seo Ye Ji since IOTNBO. I am not in the mood for makjang revenge drama like "I want to take revenge to the point I will kiss my enemy and even bed with him and use the most outrageous crazy unrealistic plan".

In fact nowadays I watch no revenge drama. No Eve, no Why her, no Doctor lawyer or Insider... I want to have fun and a good laugh and escape from the daily bad news on TV.

AOS is good for this purpose.

Same here. This first half of 2022 was quite poor in term of kdrama. There are few kdrama good enough to be recommend. From now on Showtime is a rare one. I hope the second half will be better. Starting with this one. I have never seen a kdrama like this one. So fingers crossed it keeps being good.

Ooh now I get the poster with Naksu-in-Mudeokyi and Jang Wook unsheathing her sword! Really neat analogy! So basically…
I understand it like you but her plan was quite risky. She asked him to resist the poison and survive it but it did not really depend on him. If the doctor did not open Jang Wook's energy gate, poor boy would have been doomed. I am wondering why the doctor did that...

this is strangely modern for a historical drama from the way they talk and the hairstyles idk if that was intentional…
I think it is intentional. They want to do something different. There is even a guy with earrings and rock music.

Why I feel it will have sad ending ?Naksu cannot live in someone else's body her entire life right? I am loving…
That's the problem with souls/sprits roaming around and they can occupy a dead one, swap bodies, expropriate a soul from its body and take control, run wild and feed on soul's energy...

Either we accept that a soul can take over a body for "life" or we consider that if its original body was lost and a soul shifter is committing a crime or sorcery taking over another body, then the only issue is the spirit should also die.

There is a good chance the ending won"t be "they married and lived happily ever after."

Your thoughts on cgi?
Better than in Lover of the Red Sky so we can say there is improvement. I wish korean dramas really progress on this and compete with US productions such as Witcher.

Have you not seen the second ep yet?
It is Jin Moo but I don't think he was ordered but Jang Kang because Jang Kang was among the mages who killed her family. I don't think he ordered his deputy to help the little girl he failed to kill.

It was propably his own plan.

I saw some comments saying it is like Chinese wuxia/xianxia but I don't think it is like that as here is no concept…
There are a few common things but the main codes of Wuxia Xianxia are not here.

It's kind of morbid that Jang Wook is basically fanboying a serial killer, and on top of that, his father is responsible…
Jang Wook needs a good master. Plus Nak Soo kills Mages. Mages are a caste which promotes an order to make their own achievements and gains / maintain their power. They are not innocent. They killed her family and she was raised by them before she was recruited by an organization to become their strong arm. It is not about killing innocents randomly. I believe it is a game of rivalry + vengeance.

I think the real mu deok died.....
That would mean shifting soul into another body is killing that body's innocent soul . Sure it would simplify things but that's not cool.

Also why they woudl keep the original body of Nak Soo?
