I am stucked at ep9 because this turn of events is upsetting. ML is very childish after all this time. He was unable to do and say the right thing a the right moment for 10 years to confess. FL was in love with him but she misunderstood all this time. And then tadda! the guy confesses and she acknowledges her first love and they are all lovey dovey.

This way of telling a love story is quite lacklustre. Not better than the story of the two young actors who hate each other at first or the analogy between the rookie actor who falls for his manager and his manager who fell for her own senior.

I don't think China has mastered the Fantasy genre. Hollywood has. :D

All this is because of a war of nationalism between China and South Korea on cultural ground field. You can make a movie about aliens invading South Korea in 2055. If the South Korean soldiers eat with chinese chopsticks, it will be war from a group k-netizens.

Remember this is not Korea in Joseon era. This is the country of Daeho in an era of swords and spirits.

Too many things remain unsettled at the end of ep 12 even if they made the evil spirit locked in the bottle. I expect the 4 next eps to be fun and bring closure to many situations like the romances, le general, CCW's employees and his company, the end of the evil spirit so the problem is solved forever, Hee Soo's fate, punishment or at least retribution for his dad...

I have not seen the original serie. I agree a remake should try to be more pertinent accordingly with its own audience.

But I think this drama feels very korean drama with themes and type of characters we see in most kdramas. For me the flaws are not in the cultural aspect not working. It is rather because of:

- The directing : cuts and transitions between scenes are sometimes really bad. Especially for the police/crime part.
- The lead actor: I hope SH could do better. This role requires lots of versatility. Ultimately Raphael is a messy character.
- Many side characters fails to be endearing.
...

But I still like Woori and how she is changing and evolving as a person.

For me the ML is not the most attractive man but I completely believe that for the FL, he is totally handsome and attractive. The couple looks good and works very well.

Someone went to the country of Daeho during that era to witness how it looked and felt?

Why people have to require that a fantasy drama about a fictional place and time must comply with the reprentation they have about a real place at a specific time?

I also would rather watch a fantasy drama with a fun maid but skilled fighter teaching a man how to fight rather than an historical drama with a maid bullied, abused, beaten, raped, killed, thrown into a well and nobody cares because of her lowly status.

Stop with this. You have not watched this drama yet.

These crazy netizens once they embark on a crusade to defend even something ludicrous, they are able of the worst lies... If you look carefully, some of them are already lurking here.

Finger crossed nothing happens to this drama and we can all enjoy it.

Ep3-4 are fun despite a few draggy moments. The lead couple is really cute and endearing but around them, second couple is just comic relief. Hope it will evolve. The SML is already annoying ...

Agree. I think his five senses are enhanced to the point it hurts him. And she has her sixth sense. Apparently when they have contact like kisses, the power of one cancels the one of the other...

A genre has no copyright. Western movies do not belong to the USA. Plenty of country like Norway or Denmark or France or Italy made plenty of westerns and the Spaghetti Western are most reknown. Even the Philippines made Western movies. So nobody stole nothing from anybody.

Just like this drama is made in korea.

Checking MDL is good to share opinions and enjoy the drama with others by exchanging impressions to forge a better understanding of the drama. What I fear when I am on MDL is the savage spoilers and the indirect spoilers (for example spoiling a key element of the original work when the drama is an adaptation).

I like Woori. She is growing fond of her baby after she decided to put him as her priority before everything else. She would fight for him and do everything for his happiness. This might look sudden or unreasonable or unrealistic but for me it is credible. She is one who after taking a decision will walk the path no matter what.

I agree she broke up with Kang Jae because she did not want to hurt him by making him bear the responsibility of a child but his actions also made her believe he would not bear the responsibility with her. He would be burdened and disappointed of loosing the dreams and original plans he had with her. He looks more happy chasing the bad guys with his pretty colleague.

SH's acting could be better. If they needed a less known actor, a guy like Lee Joon Hyuk (the one in 365 Repeat the year) would have been a better Raphael imo.

I agree with you. The eps are too short and also so far, it is cute and fun but nothing really important is happening. Maybe it is better to wait for the week end and watch all the week's eps in a row...

Don't waste time with people who are trying to find a problem where there is no problem. This drama is not based on the history of South Korea. It is a fantasy drama set in a fictional country in a time which is not a present time.

If you present arguments about Korean history and culture you are just falling in their trap to create controversy where there is none.

Isn't it supposed to be a fantazy drama set in an imaginary country and imaginary era?

And so what? Most clothes chinese people wear in chinese movies and dramas are western style.
