Title Dali & Cocky Prince Spoiler
1 of the best kdramas. No stupid troupes. Wrong doers get what they deserved & not grossed over like other kdramas.…
I wish TJ was more severly punished for what he did. I can understand he managed to make Da Li's father death look like something he could not prevent but he still plotted to kill Moo Hak's brother who came to blackmail him sure, but that's not a good reason enough... Assemblyman An ended in jail. Why not him? He was the mastermind.

It made me suspect the situation is not what I think... or else why he would be expecting a call? But I was baited big time also.

Title Love at Night Spoiler
This is what you would call a slow burn. ML and FL trying not to be attracted to each other. "They are." The FL…
She is officially dating a guy and what she is doing with the ML, her boss , is some kind of cheating. Even if her boyfriend appears like a douchebag who knows nothing about her and wants to make her his perfect housewife, it does not justify. She should break up clean with him first. This why I don't really like their story. Compared to the boyfriend, ML seems equally conniving and scheming. He does everything to put himself on her good side and "open her eyes" about her bf. Doesn't make him a very nice guy for me.

One thing very prejudiciable to the chemistry of the lead couple is that they FL has a boyfriend of 10 years. To me, their interactions can't be cute and sizzling because they overstep limits. She should not let him behave like that towards her and he should not behave like that towards her if he is a true gentleman. For me they are almost cheating and it is not nice. Even if the cheated guy is a bad person. So far, ML and SML look made of the same wood. They are schemers to win a woman.

I agree chemistry is not about looking both nice on screen or hot scenes. There is potential though. Maybe later in the drama...

It is ok. You did use the spoiler tag. I read at my own risks.

Because she wanted to give herself some time to think about it and move on eventually but her fiancé kept begging her so she did not want to inform her parent before things are definitive. Then the guy agreed to break up. That was so shocking for her. It made her reflect about their past and their present situation and she agreed to give him a second chance.

FL should stop wearing high heels it's not good for her health 😜 the chemistry of the lead couple is sizzling…
I don't think there is a lot of chemistry between the two leads. Because their interactions are not cute or tit for tat in a game of guts or of seduction. So far ep6, it is mainly misunderstanding and a ML trying to woo a woman who doesn't know who is going to eat her all alive from her fiancé or her boss.

Title Love at Night Spoiler
After 6 episodes, I have a problem with the FL and the two ML. The beginning was good. After the "incident" between FL and SML, events or at least the flashbacks announced the usual cute encounter with a surprise second meeting. But after the truth is revealed, the SML turns into the typical A-hole used as footboard for the main couple. The ML turns into a cold domineering tsundere boss who oversteps and invades the FL closest zone of privacy at any opportunity and behaves like he is her boyfriend. The FL becomes a silly woman who is not smart enough to see what is wrong in her couple and she is too weak to resist her boss' schemes to mix private and professionnal matters to invade her private life.

The characters look grotesque and they lack of depth. Why show the SML with the worst light to tell how much of a bad guy he is and FL never noticed for 10 years. If there are problems between them, why not underline them? Show how they face them and try together and overcome them or not? Instead FL becomes a poor victim and ML is her savior in shining armor. But he looks cold, scheming and rude, imposing himself to her. I don't see him as charming or caring or respectful or friendly. He is hitting on her when he knows she has problems in her couple. What he said about the crabs to make himself look human and squeamish was just RIDICULOUS. He still needs to convince me he is a better prospect for her because so far I only understand that the fiancé is a bad choice for her.

I like the second couple better. I loved Zhao Yuan Yuan in The Master of Cheongsam and Gu Zi Cheng in the Justice. This kid has talent. The noona romance is surprising but it is credible. She looks so immature trying to find a bf for the worst reasons and he looks cute and funny trying to chase after her.

If you are not a fan of cross dressing you should consider it twice before you start this. This drama is pushing the cross dressing quite far compared to what I have seen.

Title The King's Affection Spoiler
I don't think people can truly love someone without knowing his or her gender. Dam-i is aware that Ji Un is a…
Ji Un thinks CP is a young man but he is wrong to do so. A few people in the palace know CP is not a man but she is a woman. Ji Un just acknowledged his feelings. The fact that doing so makes him gay in his own understanding of the situation shows that for him, being called gay is secondary compared to his feelings.

By doing this, in his understanding, he also moved on from Dam-i because they cannot be the same person. One is dead (in his mind) and the other one is a man (in his mind also).

For me what brought him together with Dami-i, what made him look for the maid from the forest and what made him have feeling for the CP is one "connexion" which lies with Dam-i. It has to do with Dam-i as a person including her gender. Everything will fall back in place when he knows her true identity and her true gender.

I believe people have a gender made of a biological one, a social one, a cultural one, a legal one, some have a spiritual one or... a fake one like this CP: one which is biologically wrong and one she is "forced" to assume. People have a gender and a gender identity. Better if they live in harmony with them and being true about them is a good way to start with. But it is also about opinions. Some people even say the word "gender" has no meaning.

Title The King's Affection Spoiler
I love lol the dialogue this show is generating about how many “people”JW has loved, who he REALLY loves and…
The gay "thing" is only on the mind of Ji Un. Because he accepted his feelings for the CP and he is not aware (yet) of her true gender. Acknowledging his feelings makes him gay in his mind but technically, he is not. Lee Hyun who witnessed them speaking their feelings near the pond knows that they are not gay. They are just using the confusion created by the situation for a game of push and pull. CP must push Ji Un's away for their own security and because she is in a masquerade that she has to keep going. And he is in an "hopeless" love and he cannot be a roadblock to CP's happiness (rather duty).

This drama brings questions about people's nature, gender, feelings, relationships and how to accept them. But it does not give answers and lessons. People will think about it and find their own answers. So far, on its surface, the drama is unconventional enough but in its core, it is quite conventionnal. But that's a quality already.

Not thrice!! He fell in love twice and that too with the same person.
I don't believe Ji Un is bisexual. He might think he is. But technically he is not so far. I am pretty sure he believes Dam-i is dead but I agree that people carry "something" that can be recognized by the "heart". It is no coincidence that Ji Un has feelings for the CP. Because he senses that "something" in him. Ji Un is not bisexual. He would not fall in love with a man. He might think it has but it is a vision of his mind. What ties him to the CP is not a man's "something".
Replying to Amayaaa Nov 11, 2021
Jiwoon love for CP can be called an affection or attraction . He is a kind of person who remains true to his feelings…
Ji Un's affection for the CP cannot be qualified as a gay affection or a gay relationship. Technically, it is not gay as CP is not a man. Ji Un believes the CP is a man and is gender is male but that is wrong.

We have to consider who his feelings are for in reality and not who they are for in his own mind. In his own mind, he thinks CP is man so he accepts his feelings even if it implies he is gay in his point of view. But if we take the point of view of CP's eunuch Hong. Let's say he sees these two kissing in secret. What would he think? That this is gay? Of course not. Because he knows CP is a woman. He will not qualify the relationship based on what Ji Un believes. But on what he Eunuch Hong knows of their gender. Technically, it is an heterosexual relationship. Lee Hyun witnessed them speaking their feelings. He knows they are not gay.

All this gay thing is a confusion in the mind of Ji Un only. From the viewers' point of view and from the point of view of the people who know the truth about CP's gender. It is not gay. It is a misundertsanding brought into the mind of Ji Un because Dam-i took the chance to kiss him after she admitted he is her first love.

You spoke about a scent, a vibe, something that people carry that makes them "recognizable". I agree with that. I think people fall in love not because of hazard but because of something special the other one carries and that might be a scent or the eyes or the smile or unspoken language or a combination of all this. For me, Dam-i and the Maid in the forest and CP all have this "vibe" that is making Ji Un's heart flutters.

Not thrice!! He fell in love twice and that too with the same person.
The way Ji Un treated Shin So Eun shows that when he is not interested by a woman he just teases her for fun. But when he is interested, he would go look for that person. I also don't think he was in love with the maid in the forest but I think he did have a small temporary crush.

Ji Un looks a seducer and I am sure he met other women in Ming. This is why he can easily acknowledge his feelings for other people. He moved on from Dam-i. She was his first love but he is free to love again. Specially now that he believes she is dead. For some reasons he developed feelings for the CP. Maybe he is moved by the CP's feminine looks and his personality.

One important thing is he kissed the CP on the cheek when drunk. But sober CP made her move on him as Dam-i and kissed him on the lips. So he misunderstood this as a man in love with him, also a man. For me Dam-i is the cause of this situation that Ji Un finally acknowledged. She did not clear the misunderstanding but instead, she used it and the marriage to better get rid of him.

Now I am very curious to see how he will react when he learns that these three are the same person. I think it is a shocking situation for him.
