Yes I read about the restriction on reincarnation theme in cdrama. I guess this is why it is cleverly crafted so the story can pass the ban.

Now that Zhou Sheng Chen and Shi Yi had the marriage that Young Prince of Nanchen and Cui Shi Yi could not have, let's see about their married life.

He lost his eyes to her but it was not her doing. He could be angry but he still became an astronomer and a supervisor. Maybe she would help him accomplish his vengeance and get rid of the demon in his body. He has everything to gain by using her.

For me there are not enough elements which tell that ShiYi is remembering a past life. Maybe the visions and quotes are from the movie she is working on only. Zhou Sheng Chen is not remembering anything. He knows the story of junior King of Nanchen from his family registry but it seems that he doesn't know that there was a ShiYi in the story of junior King of Nanchen. Or else he would have been triggered at the airport when she said her name is ShiYi.

I think it would be weird that she remembers a past life meaning she is ancient ShiYi reincarnated and she does not meet her Zhou Sheng Chen reincarnated but the descendent of her Zhou Sheng Chen and marries him. I'd rather believe it is different persons. It is more logic for me.

Thank you for your insight on the novel but to tell the truth, I avoided it. I try to no spoil myself of events that can possibly happen. I wish to be totally surprised by the drama itself.

I try to distance myself from the original work. I understand that the reincanation aspect is clearer in the novel but I try to stick at the drama. See if it is coherent and enjoyable by itself. Comparing an original work and its adaptation is always a tricky thing.

Between ancient and modern Zhou Sheng Chen, one is the ancestor/descendent of the other. So, no idea of reincanation and yes, no remembrance of his own past. As for ancient and modern Shi Yi, it is unclear if the visions she has belong to her past life or to the movie she is dubbing. There is no evidence that she is remembering a past life or her reaction would be stronger on this aspect. I feel like it is purposely made so that people can interpret it the way they wish.

For me so far, modern Zhou Sheng Chen/Shi Yi are a different couple who met thanks to the story of ancient Zhou Sheng Chen/Si Shi (movie / family's history) and they are living what ancient Shi Yi asked when she jumped off the gates. This is the way I can understand why modern ShiYi is so eager to marry her Zhou Sheng Chen because she knows the story of ancient ShiYi and she does not want to miss her Zhou Sheng Chen . Even if the whole thing is unromantic, frustrating, awkward moments, she is trying to make it work.

Now is it realistic the way it happened? In real life, probably not as people would not propose/agree to marry on the phone or neglect their parents, friends, colleagues... in the process. In dramaland, It is not shocking. She met her ideal man who is a rational down to earth, kind, charming guy who works for the sake of mankind. He looks a cute (and rich) nerd who met a beautiful woman and she likes him and accepts him.

Now OK, they are married. There is still almost 2/3 of the story to develop. I don't know what direction they will go. Maybe my way of seeing it will be proven wrong. But I hope they will use these 2nd and 3rd tier to develop an interesting "married life" for the two lovers.

ML agreed a contract marriage to spare financial difficulties to his company first and he put a divorce clause for after one year. So his state of mind is already to take advantage of the FL and their marriage. So no surprise he would use her to piss his ex-gf off. But I also think he is slowly developping a true and sincere bond with his "wife".

This cdrama must have all the tropes possible for a romantic cdrama. But it's entertaining enough so far ep12.

Ep5 was good. Almost everything happens in one time, one place but lots of things are unveiled and the story progresses with some intense moments. Next ep plz!

ZSC knows that his mother doesn't like and doesn't approve of Shi Yi. But he doesn't want to be the one who creates clash and dissent. It is not his nature to manage conflicts. He is the kind to do things nicely and people would approuve of them with time. The problem is if he meets schemers and evil people who are not as nice as him. He could loose his head. Just like his ancestor.

He is so cold with her but it is like she is fine and patient with him because she trusts his kind nature.

Shi Yi is jumping into this situation like she would jump into a precipice with only her faith to save her. I get that had a preconception of an ideal man called Zhou Sheng Chen and she fell in love with one but how can she trust him so much? To me this thing they get into looks quite unromantic with many frustrations and few great moments shared. I don't doubt their feelings but they don't really look happy. Hope they will be happy.

I like the fact that ML has an ambition to be successful but also wants to protect the FL. As for her, she is funny. I think she likes him but she is not in love with him because she is too obssessed with what she wants to do. It is an interesting story and thank lord there are no convoluted farfetched unrealistic outragous schemes. So far.
