About Dal Mi's love:

- Dal Mi had a penfriend at age 12. It was not a lover. It was a friend. 19 years old Ji Pyeong did not write love letters to a 12 years old elementary schoolgirl. Unless he is a perverted sicko. It was Grandma and Ji Pyeong who wrote these friendly and comforting letters to her. She was 12. She did not write love letters. How could she consider "love" at that age? She just wrote to her friend.

- When she became 15 or 16 and started to look at boys, she used the 12 years boy from the letters to imagine and create her fantasized ideal first love. She was not deluded to the point to be "in love" with it. She just used it as a reference for her standards to accept a date or to cancel a guy. In her heart, she was like any girl her age. Ready to fall in love.

- She looked for Do San because she wanted to trick her sister. She went to meet Do San and Do San fell in love with her. He went to meet her and the lying scheme allowed him to be by her side. She fell in Love with his handsomeness and his nice hands and she became a couple with him. She learnt to know him and finally she really loved him for who he is.

- Ji Pyeong told her he wrote the letters. And so what? Her heart was already taken. No matter who wrote these letters Dal Mi was beyond this point already. Dal Mi is not lost in delusion about love matters. She knows what a penfriend his, what her fantasized love is and who her true love is. The letters are irrelevant compared to her true feelings.

What Ji Pyeong told her made her doubt them a few days until they won Demo day and she was already kissing Do San's cheeck via her fingers. Her first love is Nam Do San from SST the man she let go to the Silicon valley but never forgot. This is why during three years she never bothered to ask Ji Pyeong anything about these letters. They are just a lie which happened 15 years ago. Why bother? For her it is behind. It is only Ji Pyeong's and Grandma's turn to come clean with them.

Why people assume these letters are love letters with her first love and she has to return to that first love? We are not in a korean drama seriously... People who assumed that plotline from the begining just misunderstood the writer and the drama. This is absolutely not the initial idea of the writer and Dal Mi won't end up with Ji Pyeong unless the writer betrays herself and decides to please his fans with a final terrible stunt.

Why Han Ji Pyeong sucks in this fake love triangle:

Han Ji Pyeong (Kim Seon Ho) as love rival of Nam Do San (Nam Joo Huyk) is totally inept. He is just a useless third wheel. Never in the drama the FL showed any interest in him. She has never showed anything, not an ounce of attraction for him. She never shared one moment of romantic complicity with him Han Ji Pyeong. Lastly when he told her he wishes she is not uncomfortable with him anymore and he wishes to be the first one she thinks about, she ate carrots and she was like "what this idiot is talking about again?". Beside he courting her with is dumb approach and taunting DoSan, he has nothing interesting.

A second male lead like Doo Chil Seong (Jang Hyuk) love rival of Seo Poong ( Lee Jun Ho) in Wok of Love is so much better. He is looking for a truth about his past. He is the boss of a gang of thugs disguised into cooks and he has a lot of adventures aside of the two other leads. Same for Shen Jun Shan (Toby Lee) vs Gu Yan Zhen (Xu Kai) in Arsenal Military Academy. He is in a game of political influence with his family. He fights the enemy by himself. He single handedly avenges his people who were unjustly killed. Du Lei (Kido Gao) love rival of Yuan Shuai (Leo Luo) for the heart of Xie Xiang (Bai Lu) in Love is Sweet is an adopted orphan. He also has his own struggle with his new father, his new sister who loves him, his company which used him for a crime and he looses his own sanity...

These second leads/love rivals are so much better because beside the Love rivalry they are a whole complete arc of narration by themselves. They have their own story, struggles, challenges, fights and responsibilities. Love rivals in a Love triangle like Seo Poong or Shen Jun Shan or Du Lei ?... they offers so much apart from the love rivalry because they exist beyond the love rivalry.

Han Ji Pyeong aside from pissing Do San off and looking so cool when he is mentoring or making Dal Mi unfomfortable, he has nothing interesting in his life. It is just show off. There is nothing happening to him. Nothing to make him hurt or bleed or fight for his company, for his colleagues, for his friends... sorry he has no friends. The other leads, they are hurt or they bleed or fight for their company, their colleagues, for their friends... Han Ji Pyeong is boring and useless. Sure he has a sad and endearing backstory but his own arc of narration as an adult excluding the others leads... it is empty.

Many people call him the best second male lead ever and everything evolves around him in this drama... No. What does he have interesting independently from SST, NDS, SDM, Grandma?... Nothing.

Han Ji Pyeong is a weak pathetic second male character.

(I have nothing against the actors. They are all great. My opinion is just regarding the characters they play)

ngl NJH should stay away from dramas with love triangles. Literally all his dramas that featured love triangles…
He has plenty of agents and managers to advise him on what roles to take on. So far he won Best New Actor 3 times along with plenty of other awards so I don't think he regrets his choices for now. And this drama Start-up will surely count among his successes. He is not despicable in this fake love triangle. He is the boss. The other guy is a third wheel and the one despicable for me.

Of course the letters are fake. If they are genuine, it means a 19 years old man (legal age) sends letters to a 12 years old girl. It's gross... In reality the letters were written by Grandma and Ji Pyeong to comfort Dal Mi. Nothing else. The truth will be unveiled in next ep certainly.

Ji Pyeong saying to Dal Mi he wrote these letters was a lie to make himself an option for her. Too bad, she was already in love with Do San.
