I am not sure I like the way things are turning into. All these events and revelations... It does not add much to the cute and natural way I thought they met. Also what are they trying to turn Jun into? Poor guy is going to waste his talent because of illness? I so don't want this for him. But ok, he is under 20yo. He has 98% of surviving Leukemia.

lol. Maybe you think Do San is a lunatic? I guess we all have our perspective and understanding and Dal Mi did not complain to him so...

Violence is not a good way but there is the principle and there is the people. Story wise, HJP deserved that beating. lol.

Dal Mi was in couple with Do San and HJP knew it this is why he went to brag about it at his face afterwards and declared competition is on. Grand Ma even told him how much Dal Mi was happy with Do Dan. This is why she asked him to keep the lie going so Dal Mi would keep being happy. They did not break up. She just asked for a pause that he called a reset. She broke up only to make him go to the USA. HJP confessed to her because when he lied to her he wrote the letters on his own, she just did not care about him.

HJP if he wanted to play fair he should have talked to NDS before confessing. Most guys in this world facing HJP sneaky ways would have given him a good lesson. He was just a jerk. Dal Mi is nice to him because he used to mentor her on her request. She let the soup at his door. She did not give it to him hand to hand and she did not check on him face to face. So he should not take this for something else than being friendly. Or he will be sadly disappointed.

Sure drama are always a lot of cliché but personaly I don't find Do San a cliché character. I rarely saw nerds with low self esteem level but with a good heart to care for others and support others and making people his priority. Dal Mi is not also the typical kdrama heroine. She is a fighter and a leader. She is persevering, down to earth and blunt regarding love matters. I have sympathy for these two. I don't think Do San has romanticism toxic behavior or he is an overbearing bf. He is just the way she likes her bf to be. Supportive and caring. I think they are a very credible couple entering the professionnal world with their dreams, courage and shortcomings which make them being fooled but they keep trying.

I don't dislike Do San for using violence. He does not do it for himself or because someone is toying with him. If it was the case, he would have punched HJP in his car when he tried to piss him off with Dal Mi's scrunchy. Or when HJP came to tell him he confessed to Dal Mi and made him his lackey to convey his questions and good intentions for her. Do San only used violence against people who are disrespectful and out of line with the people he loves. It doesn't justify but it doesn't make him a bad person for me.

To bad you are failing to enjoy this drama for what it is and forcing yourself in a sad deluded expectation of something that will never happen. Waste of the good work of all the people who worked on this good drama.

I am not sure it is only the writer's fault.

In Dream High, the writer gave the whole first episode and even a big part of episode two to the SML. In this drama FL and SML had a lot of time together. He saved her, helped her, took her on his bike, lent her his helmet.. They had "romantic complicity moments" and they also met as child. So you would logically be confused why she fell for the ML and not the SML.

Here, the writer gave the whole first episode to SML. But only in childhood and they never really "met". Never had complicity moments. The only link between them were the fake letters that everybody knew were fake. Even Dal Mi's father knew right away and went to thank Grandma for her scheme to "help" Dal Mi.

The writer depicted a too miserable and sympathetic HJP as teen. The kid was like crying and looking at you drenched in the rain with his eyes telling you: "Please love me" . So of course a large audience fell in love with his character. Made him the hero of the story. ML appeared in the second ep. but 15 years later . It was too late. A whole story was built up on HJP already. For this audicence, they bet on their horse already.

But the truth is storytelling wise. If you look at the elements of the narration and how things are intricated between the characters, there is absolutely nothing between HJP and SDM. There is no childhood connexion to be revived or revealed. These two were never bound by Destiny. It is DNS and SDM which were bound by Destiny via these fake letters and Fake Nam Do San. As mentionned by lzyda, when Dal Mi as adult wished to find Do San, a petal from the cherry trees flew from her place to reach real Nam Do San and fall in his hair to say: this guy is her destiny.

The writer has her responsibility but many people failed to watch the drama with the eyes of viewers trying to enjoy a story . They watched this drama with the eyes of fans trying to cheer on their favorite character or actor and totally inventing or eluding elements to support their dreamed outcome.

Some of them believe the huge support for HJP can force the writer to please these fans and make a final twist where SDM would end up with HJP. Why not? It's possible. But it would be a stunt and a renunciation from the writer's part.

You should ask yourself why Grandma asked him to lend his handwriting for a fake penfriend and she did not ask…
No. She asked him to write to Dal Mi and pretend he is a kid her age to give her a fake friend. She wanted the penfriend to be a girl but HJP said the handwriting is male already. Grandma said "should we use your name?" and he said "Gosh no way". Why she did not insist for him to be her real penfriend using his name?

These two faked the whole thing from the begining and by doing so, they became the instrument of Destiny to make Dal Mi and Do San meet.

You saying I don't like HJP is just the kettel calling the pot black. This comment section is plagued by salty comments hating Do San from HJP fans. lol.

My perception of Dal Mi's character would not invalidate what I said about HJP. You will need more than that to elude my observation.

The letters were fake. They helped Dal Mi go through hardship. She used them to make up a fantasized love . They made her meet a real love. And now she is moving on with her life. So HJP fans should stop hanging on these fake letters like they are going to save MIJI because MIJI is their lifeline.

I liked that scene with Do San. It showed how human he is compared to Ji Pyeong who just came to rub salt in their wounds and make himself look great. It remembered me of the moment Do San had this cold rage and broke the title plate of Morning Group' CEO. Do San would not hesitate to use violence not for himself but to show others they have been disrespectful and out of line with the people he loves.

Story wise Do San is a much better character and a much better person than HJP.

I wonder what is it about KSH/HJP that we r so all smitten? I don't really watch or like fluffy romantic dramas…
HJP is has his qualities and flaws and he is very consistently written from teen age to adult age. But still he is a cliché character. Handsome self made man who can't express his feelings. He is harsh to others and learn to slowly open himself and to become a warmer person. Typical male character we see a lot in Dramaland.

From the perspective of the viewers he is lovable because the viewers know his history so they make a global understanding of him. But story wise and from the perspective of other characters around him, he is not a very likeable person. This is why he has no friends.lol. Only people with a good heart approach him.

This is what you typically see in drama. A rude guy behaves and talks harshly to other people so that they can become stronger and motivate themselves to do better. This is so cliché. It does not work like that. If you are team leader and you want top make your team to understand the business and achieve something, talking to them like they are kids or stupid pigs is never a way to make they achieve their goal and yours.

HJP is such a cliché character. NDS and SDM, a couple working hard and supporting each other, falling in the trap of others... that's more realistic than a mentor who do things only to please himself or someone else (Grandma or Dal Mi).

Wow, 13k comments, you jp fans are something else. All I see is adoration of your idol jp. I guess he can do no…
They don't see him as a character in a story. They see him as the best player of the team they support. So everything he does is great. He is the best on the pitch. Everything the other team does it wrong, foul, bad intention, lies, manipulation, theft, attempt to hurt him and so on...

HJP if we consider him from the point of wiew or a normal viewer, he is nothing but a selfish inconsiderate jerk. A knowledgable one but still a jerk. He has no love to give to anyone. Fans find him the excuse of his past but all the people he meets nowadays do not know his past and just judging him on his behavior they would call him the haughty unsympathetic person he is. This is why nobody loves him. He is that kid waiting for someone to come hug him but he is not mature enough to go hug anyone . Only Grandma loves him because she has been loving him since day one but she also used him in her schemes.

Professionnaly he is not even great. The drama boast about his achievements. OK but we only see his way of bashing people, bellitling them, and mentoring Dal Mi the worst way possible. Good mentors never answer your questions 24/7. They allow you a portion of their time, do their job and then you make another appointment for a new session. HJP was also unprofessionnal as he did not show up on Demo day to do his job because he felt guilty of his jerk behavior.

Now the only way for him to have a good ending is to become a good older brother for Dal Mi. He shalll expect nothing more. He will have nothing more.

HJP was the worst in ep 12. He went to patronize SST rubbing salt in their wound then he got punched in the face by the younger kid he was bullying and then he went to cry in the skirt of grandma. Beause he knew he was being an inconsiderate snooty jerk all this time. What a pathetic clown.

I still don't get why NDS hit HJP and not Alex, who basically screwed them over?
- Because 2STO bought SST so Alex represents their mother company now.
- Because Alex is within the limits of his job and responsibilities

- Because HJP confessed to his girlfriend
- Because HJP went to brag about it at his face after doing it and declared war to him
- Because HJP is just a person working for VH venture capital who accepted to be mentor and did not do his job properly
- Because HJP disappeared from Demoday just to appear and rub salt in their wounds
- Because they were all distressed and helpless and he did not even care to consider their feelings
- Because NDS just had the news that HJP caused the death of Yong San's brother.
- Because HJP was nitpicking on Yong San's brother. Called his doing a fraud when there was no fraud as there was no financial transation made yet. HJP only words for his defense were " If it sounded like nitpicking, that's a shame". HJP did not even acknowledge his wrongdoing.
- Because he was harsh on them telling they only have to blame themselves adding to their frustration and hopelessness
- Because he was telling Dal Mi and Sa Ha were going to be fired something they all knew already and could not accept. Again, he was rubing salt in their wound.

For the whole package of these great achievements, HJP deserved to be punched in the face. He had it coming and it served him well. After that he was behaving a lot more decently that disrespectful jerk.

NDS doesn't do dangerous U turns because... he has no car. He just rented a car once in his life to take Dal Mi and Grand Ma on a date to the seashore. Of course, he would not do dangerous U turns with passengers in the car.
