It i snot in ep1 . It is in episode 2 when Grandma goes to ask him to find Do San. He asks for Dal Mi's name because he doesn't remember it . You saying he pretended he forgot is a speculation.

You have the right to see it the way you want but to see things against HJP's own words will lead you to be disappointed like many here.

For real! He declared his feelings to her like he has been biten by a mosquito and she doesn't have to worry he will apply some medicine on it... It is almost like she doesn't need to be sorry he will get a cure soon.

She doesn't seem to have feelings for him. She will most likely spend the next episodes mending things with Do San and discovering the real him. Ji Pyeong doesn't even take his feelings seriously.

Ji Pyeong sank his own ship with his confession. The way he did it. In the post credit scene, he knows he did it the wrong way. Acting all cool while telling a girl you like her...? It just made it look like it is a small issue he has to deal with. How can she find this sincere?

Things were pretty toxic on the Last Empress with the writing and how things turned out to the point CJH went in conflict with the production and they just killed his character off out of the blue. I surely hope this will not happen in this drama.

SDM has never shown any sign of interest for HJ¨P. As kids, she met him once and told him to go away. As adult, she is a mentee and he is her mentor but it does not go beyond that. She bluntly said to him she had the wrong idea that maybe he likes her. That was a way to say she does not like him. When he confessed, he was mixing noodles??! She can't fall for that.

SDM will not end up with HJP. He has not the warmth she wants from a boyfriend. Storytelling wise, people would not undertand why she ends up with him after so many skinship with NDS and not a glimpse of romance between her and HJP. Suzy and Kim Seon Ho would also take a lot of bashing. As for an open ending, it is possible ... but still not with HJP.

I am not badmouthing HJP, I am just giving my understanding and my opinion of the character and the situations he is in. I can see that many people have a different opinion from mine but I can also see that these people are salty now. lol.

Money was not the reason why Do San went to the night event. Ji Pyeong had absolutely no reason to bring money in his explanation. He was the one who proposed money and if Yong San and Chul San wanted it, the final offer of SST was to enter Sandbox instead. Ji Pyong introduced the money issue and led Dal Mi to think Do San took money for it.

Young Ji Pyeong never showed any sign of happiness or pleasure when writing or receiving the letters. You say he won't admit he liked it but this is a speculation from your part only. You are bound to be disappointed like all the ones who saw things that were not shown.

You can rewatch NDS and SDM in the park when their eyes met. At that moment, the time was suspended and HJP¨s ship sank already.

I don't hate HJP. I just think it is too bad to project things on him to feed the idea that he is Dal Mi's special childhood friend and now they can be reunited again. It is really not the case.

Ji Pyeong is not a CEO. He is an employee like any other employee of his company. And you don't have to be rich to live well. He lived well with no worries.

Ji Pyeong understand nothing to people's feelings like he can't properly deal with his. The whole society told grandma to not take care of an unknown orphan he could steal your money. She still did it. Why HJP could not understand at 30 years old that maybe he could go beyond the words of Grandma and show her his love like she showed him hers? The guy just did not care.

He did not recognized Dal Mi at the Sand Box lecture. This is why he stalked her trying to recollect his memories. He was completely surprised when she led him to Grandma but he still could not be sure that young woman is Dal Mi. This is why he asked Grandma for her name again when she visited him. To confirm she was the woman from the lecture. He absolutely did not remember her.

HJP must be the kind to keep precious letters in a gloves compartment. Dal Mi has them in a nice white box. Or they don't have the same definition of "precious".

HJP is a friendly person. But he has no friends. It sounds contradictory. But it is not. HJP's friendship is never genuine. He doesn't want genuine friendship. The time he decides to get out of his shell, it will be too late for him already.

Do San is a cry baby but he is not afraid of facing his own feelings. He will punch if he is seriously upset, he would cry if he feels misunderstood, he would sulk if someone or something put him into a bad situation, he would say sorry if he feels guilty... But most of all, he would do the right thing to mend the situation like when he went to apologize to the Morning group CEO or when he talked with his father about their relation or when he said sorry to Dal Mi and explained to her. He has a genuine good and honest heart.

15years later, HJP has not matured at all. He is still the same kid who misunderdstands people and yell at them and wait for someone to show him affection. Now that he has become smart, it is worse. He would treat people harshly and play a dumb game of "I like you but actually I don't" when he should be begging for their affection. This is why as successful as he is, he has no friends and the only woman who ever entered his room is the cleaning lady.

The moral of the story is that if you want to be loved by people, you must give love to people.

So far ep10 Dal Mi paused her relationship with Do San but she does not have a single bit of a begining of a feeling forJi Pyeong. I don't think Ji Pyeong will be able to turn the table. And certainly not with the method he is using.

The real baby if Ji Pyeong. He can't face his own feelings. He needs people to come take him in their arms and show him love.

Technically in The last Empress Lee Hyuk (SSR) got the girl. He married her... And here, Do San also technically got the girl. They are dating. The story of the letters is just a little setback. Dal Mi needs time to recover from a 15yo lie but she doesn't seem really mad at him anymore. They will mend their relationship on an healthy basis.

SST did not want money. They wanted to enter Sand Box in exchange. Ji Pyeong refused because it was not something he could pull off and he knew no money would make them change their mind and help him. So Do San went to help her on his own. Ji Pyeong should have said it like that. Instead he talked about them needing money. Of course they needed it but money was not part of the deal which failed and it is not the reason why Do San went to the night event. Ji Pyeong led her to think Do San took money for it (at first even if his feelings changed). He manipulated her understanding.

These letters were a chore for Ji Pyeong. He never enjoyed writing them or receiving them. He never had one single smile when writing or receiving them. Not like Dal Mi. Many people after ep10 cannot understand why Ji Pyeong doesn't have a better status with her because they misunderstood the backstory. These two as kids never had a special connexion.

Do San fell in Love in the park when he saw Dal Mi in her blue jacket. He is not afraid of taking responsibility for his feelings. This is why he will win her heart.

HJP did the Letters scheme as a repayment to Grandma's kindness. For him it was a chore to write these letters that he called "stupid". Later he said he does not take responsibility for these letters and for what they made Dal Mi into as Grandma wrote these letters with him and they both made fake Do San up. He even said to Do San he is ashamed he did that. I don't think these letters represented anything for him and Dal Mi was never an important person for him as a kid. 15 years laters, he did not even remember her name a few days after hearing her say it.

If the letters were important to him why he threw them like that in the gloves compartment of his car? Shouldn't they be in a nice box and sorted properly per month? That scene where Ji Pyeong says he can relate to her just meant Do San is so nerdy he can't understand the figures of speech, the poetic style and irrational things that little girl wrote so he called her an eccentric. This is why HJP asked him if he failed his Korean language exams. It did not mean that HJP had a special understanding about her.

HJP has been living well for 15 years without worrying about the old woman who took care of him when he needed help. Even if she asked him to not look for her, any decent man who becomes successful like he did thanks to an old woman would go to her or send people to find her and inquire if she is well. He did not care at all. If not for following an unknown woman, he would have never met Grandma again.

He is helping her again because she came to ask for his help again. When he overheard her with her ex daughter in law and realized the dificulties she and Dal Mi went through he had a guilty conscience (of course, he did bad) and yelled at Grandma again like it is her fault when he is the one who never cared genuinely for her, considered her feelings why she told him to not find her, or supported her like she supported him.

HJP is smart, competent, knowledeable, friendly, funny too but he is not a caring, considerate, supporting person. All the things he does now is because he feels infatuated to Dal Mi for some reasons. I don't even think his feelings for her are genuine since he does not take them seriously himself.

It's ok.

When Dal Mi asked him the truth he said DoSan did it because at that time SST needed investment. But the truth is that he is the one who offered money and SST offer was that he helps them enter Sand Box and Do San would help him. Ji Pyeong could not accept the deal and Do San went to the party by himself.

Dal Mi said Do San did it for the money and Ji Pyong said "no, it may have been first but his feelings became real". So he clearly let her misundedtand that Do san took money for it even if later his feelings became real.

Regarding Grandma, he purposely excluded her from responsibility when she was the mastermind of the scheme and she is the one who asked him to find NDS from the newspaper. It was not his idea.

He said he wrote the letter as a favor to Grandma so ultimately, Dal Mi thought there are not one man but two men. Which is not true. There was one fake NDS and there is one real NDS. Ji Pyeong clearly made her misunderstand on purpose. He should have said "we invented him and the letters".

Ji Pyong does not dare to confront his own feelings and treats people badly to protect himself but it does not change that he treats them badly... but it is his own loss. He is still that kid who needs people like Grandma to come take him in their arms and show him love despite he yelled at them for nothing.

Personality wise, Ji Pyeong is nowhere close to Fake Do San. In fact he is the opposite. Fake Do San has empathy, he is caring, considerate, supportive, has good words for people. HJP is absolutely not this. He has no consideration for people. He only does things to protect himself and his own feelings. He looks so self assured but in fact he is weak and afraid of being hurt. Real Do San looks weak but he is much stronger than Ji Pyeong.

Dal Mi doesn't know the truth because Ji Pyeong did not tell her the truth. He made her believe Grandma just asked for a favor. He made her believe the letters are his. And he made her believe that Do San came to the night event because he took money of it. All these are not true.

And after that, he went to confess to her at the worst moment with the worst manner. If he wanted her to not take him seriously, he would not have done it differently. He voluntarily messed it up. I don't really care about him but I just know he had no consideration for her feelings

HJP did not bad mouth Do San but while he said to Dal Mi he doesn't want her to misunderstand, he still gave her the wrong idea that Do San was in for the money and his decisions concerning her were all business related.

I think he went to Do San because he wanted to treat him like a lackey to run an errand for him. He wanted to show him about how much he cares for Dal Mi to not be mauled during the Demo day. He wanted to tell him he confessed to Dal Mi and that their "brotherhood" is over. He is lucky Do San is a good guy because the times he has been dragging him away and the condescending tone he uses to speak to him, another guy would have punched him in the face already.

Deep inside, Ji Pyong is not the bad guy but he does things exactly like a jerk would do.

The writer gave the whole first episode to SML just like in Dream high. But here, there is no connection between SML and FL. The one existing was a fake one. If people accept this then there is no frustration. The people frustrated are the one who took the letters as a true connexion between them and the promise of them childhood lovers being reunited again. The first ep was nothing like that.
