Yeah, the ending is so typical of Chinese dramas - unnecessary deaths that the writers are trying to make them…
I have noticed that chinese drama have a lot more infamously disappointing endings that korean dramas or thai or taïwanese or japanese. At least for what I have seen. I believe it is because Chinese have a fetish for lecturing people about the beauty of sacrifice for your loved ones, your people, your country... Something like "the beauty of sacrifice" before " the beauty of Love". It is quite reccurent in chinese drama. Especially historical or costume dramas.
At first I enjoyed this drama, there were some twists and turns and then it became quite repeated and predictable…
I paused this drama after ep 25 and I was thinking I would resume after the end has aired. I guess I won't need to do it now... Chinese dramas are really infamous for many horrible and disappointing endings. Apparently this one has joined the club.
Trailer looks good. The two main leads look great. It seems to be heartwarming and family driven too. Hope they don't overdo it and make it dripping of nice morals and values.
Agree it is a weakness in the drama. I can take that she survived but I cannot accept why she revealed herself…
I can agree that she killed KT and ST's mother on an impulse. Just because she suggested her daughter is... a weirdo. But still... 20 years after... Unveiling herself just to try to control a daughter she has not seen for 20 years. That' s pretty ridiculous.

But why? I can understand that she always wanted her daughter to be like her(a psychopath) and seeing her becoming normal and finding people she loves and who loves her, she can be mad but is that a reason to give away 20 years of hiding? If she is so smart she could have separated them without unveiling her identity and risking prison. Truth is I just don't get her motivation.

I agree all this was leading the audience. Having the dad going to the lake and this scene of a travel bag being dumped into the reservoir.. And then there is not explanaition for it.. that was weak from the drama. I can accept that the mother is alive and I can accept that they don't give a proper expanaition but still... it needs to be consistent. Why she came back?

This is what I thought about too? Maybe she watched her husband suffer for 20 years and after he died, she decided to unveil the truth as her life had no meaning anymore... but why she killed the father of the little girl before her husband died? What triggered her? I don't see any logical answer to that.
Question-I was very tired when I watched Ep. 16, but did KM's agent get the Witch manuscript back? The little…
She said she would give it to him only one month after just to punish him for constantly making her miserable. She is a nice character. She just wanted to give him a lesson for always picking on her. Likely he got he manuscript an did nothing with it.
For me Bai Lu is the revelation of 2019 among Chinese actresses. I watched AMA by chance because I noticed there was plenty of comments on it. I was stunned by her performance. As a girl, she was totally tomboyish and not so pretty with an horrible hairstyle. As a soldier, she was the cutest pretty boy even more pretty than Gu Yan Zhen (Xu Kai). In both roles her personality did not change and she was outstanding.
I went to watch the Legends after AMA. Also very impressed by her performance in costume and as a strong leader of a cult. Compared to AMA she was also funny at times. Too bad the end of the drama was not so good.
I liked her in Lucky's first love too. Physically different as it is a modern drama. She was convincing as the average girl who develops feelings for her boss and helps him to reach success. The plot was very common but her character kept me interested more than the guy. She had such a strong personality. Loved it when she showed to the people what a kiss is.
I started to follow her news then rumors emerged that she might be in couple with Xu Kai which created some uproar among their fans. I remember I watched them receive an award together and her attitude kind of upset me.
Still I like her as an actress. She is different from the tall thin actresses looking like models and she is not a little cute midget either. She looks just pretty and she looks natural in her acting. I really miss her and can't wait to see her next works. Most anticipated for me: Jiu Liu Overlord. I have seen some pictures and she looks great. The main couple looks good too. I am less anticipating Love is Sweet because the synopsis look less engaging to me but I will watch it for sure. Also I am glad to see the news about her projects with Allen Ren. I rate him as a good actor so happy they will work together.
So it has ended now. Thanks to the actors, the director, writer, the crew, all the people who made this great drama and gave us incomparable emotions. Thanks to the IOTNBO fans here who loved and shared about this drama. This was something really special.
