I like Eun Gyeol and Eun Yu better. The time travel thing and the confusion between them make their relationship…
She is attracted to him but she is resisting the attraction, firstly because she thought he could be her mom's first Love and surely not her first Love... and secondly because she is from 2023 and she thinks he is from 1995 so she imagined... how he would be like? in 2023? her time and it made her laugh. She dismissed the idea... So, like she said, they are from different worlds.
I like the YiChan-CheongAh story more. I don't feel anything about EunGyeol-EunYu's relationship.
I like Eun Gyeol and Eun Yu better. The time travel thing and the confusion between them make their relationship more mature, complex and uncertain.
Yi Chan cares about Eun Yu as he know she likes him but he is still locked on Se Kyeong this is why he is always yelling at his friends and his dad so they do great at the festival but in the end...
Now it must be a turning point for them to be closer to their soulmate/destined partner.
But why kill her? She is not his wife. Or is she? Does that mean Kang Young Hwa is the wife's spirit who traveled…
But what kind of revenge does he want? He wants to kill her? Kill her family and friends again? I hope he is not here to torture her for the fun because she killed him for his crimes against her family killing her dad and mom. Let's hope it is more complex than a simple revenge story.
Very good start. So glad Do Ha takes possession of Jun Oh's body in the first episode. I mean, sorry that he died…
But why kill her? She is not his wife. Or is she? Does that mean Kang Young Hwa is the wife's spirit who traveled from 1500 years in 2023 and her nightmares are the memories of her life 1500 years ago? Did she stole the little girl's body like Do Ha took over Jun Oh's body? So many question to be answered. It is interesting.
So the male lead died from the first episode and what took his dead body now ?
If we assume that the Do Ha from 1500 years ago died without kids, Han Jun Ho is not his descendent. Also if his spirit was detached from his dead body 1500 years ago and it has been wandering all this time until it finds the little girl and stalks her...
Then logically, Han Jun Ho is just a doppleganger who died and Do Ha took possession of his body. But there is so many possibilities. I just hope it will be good.
A strong first ep but a lot of questions are raised. The two leads actors are not among my favorites but they are surprisingly good. Hope the drama will not end a disappointment like Destined with you which was also about an old feud from centuries ago.
Did something happened between episode 3 and ep 4 because now they are not at odds with each other obviously. Also I did not expect that kind of story. I thought is was about people turning into dogs... but ok, it is fantasy after all. Now one week of waiting... No really? Two weeks??
it’s just how it was during those period..she’s even stronger than most females back then..
I did not notice that Gil Chae had to rush into marriage because of society rules. To me it looked like she accepted the courting and the marriage out of gratefulness, and she also probably saw him as a good choice. But I agree that, women had little choice in their marriage. These were arranged by the families as custom of the society.
Inequality between men and women were huge during the Joseon era and there is still inequality in 2023 as South Korea is still quite patriarchal. I guess this is why they make this kind of drama using modern characters and modern ideas or values in the middle of an ancient era to promote these ideas. Gil Chae is not a bad woman. She is a victim of the society maybe, but she changes into a modern woman who would affirm her choice and not live by the patriarchal rules. Women can cheat too.
I wish she survives but not sure she will have a happy ending though.

That was the reality of the Joseon era for women and men at least during a part of that era. Women lived totally under the control of their husband and his family. They could only have virtue and obey. After the death of their husband, they became widow and could not remarry, or they would be sentenced to death.
This is why the characterization of Gil Chae does not sit well in a Joseon like you described it. But let's say it is a fiction and this Joseon is not historical Josean but a fantasized one. Many people absolutely want to put the blame of Gil Chae's cheating on her husband because he did wrong things behind her back.
But the problem is not him. It is her. She put herself in a marriage which was wrong, and she decided she could cope with it like a good wife but when she faced her ex-suitor, she failed her resolution and cheated. She did not know what her husband really did or wanted. Still, she breached the boundaries of the good wife she promised she would be. The information she had were not ground for her to cheat. It is not like she thought "that bastard abandoned me, cheated on me, married another wife and got her pregnant, I am free, and I will do what I want now". She never had this logic. She cheated on her own accord.
The proof of that is after she cheated and talked her love to Jang Hyun and they hold hands and hugged, Jang Hyun brought that idea to Gil Chae. He said to her to stay with him because her husband abandoned her, and she owed him nothing now. But she refused that idea. She said she still has a husband, and she needs to clear things with him. That proves she was never in the logic that she can do anything she wants and disregard her status as wife because her husband abandoned her. It still had its importance for her. Her husband’s action was never what triggered her cheating.
This drama is using a story and characters in Joseon era to promote messages that are very our era. Even if it requires to put some characters in situation which would likely not happen historically. Historically Gil Chae would likely meet death for saying "I gave my heart to another man" while being a married woman but this is fake Joseon era. So, Gil Chae will fight again in a different battle and maybe survive.
Little does she know....
