I don't think the majority of the comments are hoping the korean version will be a flop but quite the opposite.…
Honestly, half the comments are expecting it to fail because they think the leads don't fit / Taiwanese version can't be topped, and the other half are scared that the Korean version will 'overshadow' the original one. I am surprised by both the comments, but I simply mean that the Korean actors and crew will have their own fresh take on it, so even if the story is adapted from another show, it might still be a hit among the audience that sees the new one, regardless of how the original version fared. And personally, yeah, I haven't seen the Taiwanese version, don't plan on it either, and I am a big fan of Jeon Yeo Been's acting, so I am definitely hoping that this show will be a big hit, not necessarily as a comparison to any other show. Just because this show might be a hit, doesn't mean that the Taiwanese version was not good.
I have loved him since episode 1, and I will continue to SIMP for him, he makes it SO DAMN easy too. Do you remember when the bodyguard thing happened, and then he walked out in slow-motion while removing his jacket with a stone-faced expression? I was G O N E. DEAD BURIED
I'm sorry, just reached episode 8 of this show and I have a desperate WANT for Mr. Han Tae Seok to S T E P O N M E please, and thank you. He's such a DILF, my man punched a bodyguard to almost death and didn't even SWEAT and those CUNNING moves against dirty rich bastards UGH. F U C K M E please. I am T H I R S T Y (no pun intended)
I cannot WAIT to see this show! Both Jeon Yeo Been and Ahn Hyo Seop have proven time and again their mettle when it comes to acting, and this looks like a fresh pairing that could really elevate the show.
I haven't seen the Taiwanese version, but I'm sure Korean drama writers will do justice to this production.
Also to those who are pre-emptively expecting it to not be as good as the Taiwanese version, please don't, that just shows an extremely presumptuous mindset. Just because you THINK it might not live up to the original, it's unfair to brand it as a miss already.
What if it turns out to be better? Because I am expecting it to be MUCH better :)
He's literally one of the sweetest, most genuine actors out there, his roles have an honesty to them which is just unbeatable. He comes from a humble background and is a purely self-made superstar, and his heart is visible in each role he plays. No wonder he's got so many amazing shows as the lead! Looking forward to more projects from him. <3
Sigh. I love the leads but I don't have much patience for chaebol drama
I like chaebol shows because the lead usually looks like a hottie all the time, at least that's enjoyable haha! But this one has a pretty great cast too, hopefully will be good
The female lead never showed her feelings to the king because it's the only thing she could really own. She was…
Wait, they were together only for 5 years? That's definitely too short. ALSO THIS 'She was pregnant 5 time (just about every year) and he was with her almost every night with the exception of his time away from the palace and his prescribed consummation nights with the Queen, his duty. Jeongjo was a very disciplined largely unemotional King. He wouldn’t have been so obvious with his love for Doek-Im if she didn’t show him or let him know it was reciprocated but since there’s no record of it, we’ll never truly know. He practically lived in her residence until his death, using it as his library/gathering place and write to her each year on her death anniversary.' T-T WHAAAAAT that is so sad but so lovely and I wish they had shown that aaaa 'Hwabin’s palace became like the “cold” palace.' Sad for her but the fate of an unloved Queen is shared by many, so not sad really. Also many thanks for the detailed information. I still dislike the actress, but my Lee-Jun-Ho loving heart is a little at ease knowing that she did love him, because that is what he deserves.

'If it had been the 20 episodes then we could have seen more of their happy times together.' Yup, I damn well deserved to see Lee Jun Ho spend some quality time happily with the girl he was in love with lol
