Absolutely, I am just so excited what this drama made happen - literally let them and their skill and spirit shine through 🥰🥰🥰

Absolutely- crazy how I pictured these two when I read the novel almost 3 years ago 'but literally didn't know how this drama was gonna go , untill the first five minutes of the drama - I felt truly hopeful and literally since the first episodes my joy and complete respect for the director and the entire production team literally made me astonished ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
And I am just so freaking happy that this director let these two shine through-truly radiant performance ✨️ I can feel the spirit of these two and so happy I can see and feel the novel truly come alive 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Also ,I didn't even open any of my pages cause I knew - I WANTED to savor each episode and it's so hard cause I want to support it all the way I can but don't want any spoilers- even if I know what's gonna happen, this drama changed my brain chemistry ❤️🙏🤞

What I feel the the drama did was a lot of symbols-like when the banditw, sacked the city , there was scene when they tore down the puppet show screen and as they killed ,the paper caugh fire -when the drama began, it began by a ballada bout a girl who fought protecting her people becoming a legendary general and then the scene when Changyu faces against the bandit leader as the burning fire drows a line between her and her enemy who killed her people ❤️‍🔥

Didn't feel like a lot longer than usual 40 minutes? Even just the first part ,it felt like eternity- an eternity of emotional wrack ,and then with how the second part wrapped up the arc , I felt like I watched a full length movie- a legit story about a war and the tragedy it is ,even if this is not 'real' 'realistic ' for some watchers - each slash of the blade, each character that stood to the last and oh my goodness I shook when he questioned the magistrates daughter and I sobbed uncontrollably when I realized what Auntie Kang decided when she started talking to her grandson- I swear I teared up and started crying roght now as I wrote about her , how they slashed and ridiculed an woman protesting two young children with her own life

Literally this last two episodes felt like entire movie - a legit story of its own ,beautifully directed beautifully performed, beautifully shot

I think I appreciate all the adaptation, especially between their relationship - and I think she takes that blue ribbon with her ,cause that ribbon is on her when she's in the army camp

I know ,I was literally still sobbing from the end scene in ep 19 - it took me well over two hours to get through the 40 minute episodes- too emotional and so moving. That little piece of trash,I just want to burry him with sharp rocks 🪨🪨🪨🪨🪨🪨

I'm honestly emotionally spent watching ep 18 and 19 ,even as I want to go threw each scene ,each moment cause there was so many - the entire 40 minute in each one felt like an eternity- no filler ,just pure emotionally moving storytelling, each frame filmed in exactly the best way to showcase such tragedy in a Chinese historical drama considering all the censorship and guidelines, I was sobbing though the entire ep 18 and then when Changyu entered the sacked village and seeing her neighbors, her friends her family torn apart ,it honestly broke my heart all over again , Auntie Kang really made me feel ashamed I ever judged her character, Qianqian's struggle added even more sadness to the entire arc .
Amazingly shot gua sha scene was the only warmth I felt , I appreciate how real it looked ,how intimate and how heartfelt.

She doesn't exactly learn that - in the novel ,it's well after his identity reveal and and even then she only guessed it by the bite mark she left on his finger when he was taking care of her though her feverish nightmares

You know what? I wish I had the forethought to do that ,I have a late work meeting and my face is all brotched and sqollen from all the crying

Over 2 hours of constant crying 💔

It was mostly freezing temperature, fatigue and probably a concussion along with that cliff fall - that's why the lady suggested the gua sha method to help her body heat up and recover

Waah ,so here comes another, welcomed in the club of "want to be slapped silly by Changyu " ? I'd get that kink ,I mean what a woman right 🤧🤧👏👏🤌🤌

I honestly haven't felt so heartbroken watching an entire episode crying my eyes out ,I can't believe how heartbreaking the sacking of the village is - the novel didn't prepare me at all even if I knew what was coming- I was blindsided by each villager who fought to their last breath 💔
