As far as I've seen the second sister isn't a bad person. It's just friendly rivalry.

I will say this now, the (blind) fifth sister is a hidden villain, a knife in the dark. It seems to me that she hates Rong Shangbao and is scheming to boot as well.

[I'm theorising the reason she hates RSB is because she is the exalted eldest granddaughter loved by all and she is the most overlooked and mistreated out of all of them; resentment that she is not like her wells up and she tries to undermine her in the shadows (see her expression toward RSB after 4th sister is exposed in ep7 and the ending scene of ep8)].
