I only clicked on this thread because I was curious as to a zombie apocalypse TV series (not that I can see this coming anywhere near close to, The Walking Dead).
By the way, I don't even like the zombie genre! But with the crappy, 28 Days Later getting another instalment, I couldn't help but ponder if this is the sign of a new wave of zombie nonsense.
Yeah, that kind of took the shine off, Silver Linings Playbook.
Don't get me wrong: 10 years is fine when people match, but a 50 year old with a 30 year old woman desperate for children - when the dude should've raised his already (and they're probably closer to her age than his!) is never going to sit right. 25 & 35? No problems. 45 & 55? No problems. I get that many fans will argue: "Why's it fine when the man is older?" but I'm not saying that!
At the end of the day, a 22 year old just starting adulthood with someone who's 30 and should already be married - or close to it - is just trashy. Also, if a woman's still single at 30, a dude has to wonder how many there have been before him... and that idea can be horrifying!
(Bad) joke aside, 10 years isn't so big once both people are *mentally mature* (try putting a 22 year old with a 30 year old and it probably won't work - which is why I can agree with the initial comment).

Going by memory from around a decade ago (damn, time flies!), I'd say that the "less developed" aspects were what gave this film so much suspense. It was a joy to watch the ML's mind at work and how... well, without any spoilers, the title was so incredibly apt.
An amazing thriller... and yet another film I never left a review for! Well, I saw it years before I even joined this site, so that's no surprise... I just came across the Korean remake (The Plot), and that's when I noticed no rating here.
This film was very unique at the time (obviously, it now has a remake) and Louis Koo was brilliant as the ML, delivering a character-study that I can't really go into, lest I spoil the film!
I had to change the server because the 1st one kept lagging, but the film was good. To be honest, these slow dramas about mourning aren't usually my cup of tea, but the sports setting - especially since kendo is still so alien to me - made it a lot more interesting.
I'm still mega impressed by what they managed to achieve with such a tiny budget, but the minimal locations and amazing use of close-ups really paid dividends!
I'd definitely recommend this to fans of the genre, but, for me, it was somewhere between a 6 and 7 (out of 10) - I enjoyed it for what it was but it's nowhere near my favourites.

The original Vumoo link I gave you was 100% valid - Vumoo was one of my go-to sites for years. It's just a pity that, now it's been taken down, a lot of imitations have popped up, all of which seem to be fake sites whereon nothing actually plays!
I came across the manga and found it to be one of the most bizarre - only in Japan - concepts I'd ever come across. Actually, it was so weird, I didn't read it!
So, I'm very surprised that this got a live-action version... is Japan really so hard up for ideas that weren't manga or cartoons first, or is this actually good?
The ending of this was - no spoilers! - deeply unsatisfying, kind of undoing all that came before. And that's the real pity, because the first part of this was absolutely awesome.

I understood this, but the point was, because she's now in another series, there were no lasting repercussions... other than hurting this series!
I'm all for punishing those who commit crimes - especially those who believe that status will protect them - but had she simply admitted herself to have erred, repented, paid the fine/did the time and carried on, it would've been settled. It's not like she killed somebody's cat (or worse)! She is human, made a very stupid, regrettable human mistake and, ultimately, it was this series and the people behind it who suffered as much as she did.
I'm sure we can agree that this is not fair, regardless of cultural attitudes.
A certain character leaving abruptly at the end of one episode really ruined this.
To my understanding, there was a DUI incident and she got booted... but that meant that the final two episodes had to be massively rewritten at the last moment and the others re-edited, to give her less screen-time. Considering the fact that she's acting/has been cast in another series, I think this was a horrible move on the part of the producers and director! They should've just completed their project as scripted, and then stood by or distanced themselves from her, according to however they felt morally compelled.
At the end of the day, Hollywood actors (and directors) who have been accused of much, MUCH worse crimes are still getting gigs and their buddies in the industry still stand by them.

All of that aside, I felt that the tone of this was a little off anyway: there's an almost comedy aspect, the typical one or two dudes taking on large numbers and the action - though quality throughout - was never anything like real life violence. THANKFULLY. I love action, but I hate realistic violence... so when some really nasty crap happens, it really crushes the tone and is pretty sickening.
Ultimately, this series had plain had too many issues and I can't rate it higher than a 6/10.
KissAsian gets shut-down and reinvents itself so frequently, it's hardly reliable. That said, when it does work and when it has the content on there, it's still one of the best.
