Thats not my point its how he just completely blanked her and treated her as if they never had 10 yrs together. She had no right to him but had a right to an explanation and he didnt even give her that small piece of respect. You dont treat people how he treated her. And his not dealing with her led to her believing he was still stuck and that and her own terrible personal life led to her desperation. In the 2yrs after the death that he didnt speak to her once and then when they met just coldly told her to leave him alone was cruel. She then watches him open up not to her but to another woman he barely knows, watching him get to where she was giving him space to get to, a place where she thought he might at last come back to her. No wo der she couldn't accept it as it was just too unfair. For him or the FL not once to consider her as more than a jilted lover who couldnt take no for an answer was what made me stop caring about them. Even at the end it was her that went to him so graciously to let him go. She was doing what he never did for her and even then he was cold and uncaring. I dropped it after that scene. It just cemented him as an asshole. It is characters with such unfair treatment for no good reason that are my big problem with Kdramas. I cannot fathom how anyone could watch it and not feel like her treatment by him was just not how a decent human being treats people. I mean it was laughable that he was willing to remain friends with the neighbour (before we knew the full details) who even then as far as ML knows was there at brothers death but he couldnt bear to see the FL who he was going to propose to. If that was a reflection of his growth and coming to terms with his grief why did it not extend to the ex. Why was he cruel to her to the end. It was so horrible I dont know what the writer was trying to achieve, but for me and lots of others writer just achieved making the ML an unlikeable heartless and selfish person. Despite the death the ex gf was the person i felt most sorry for in the whole drama.

There is nothing in the drama that justifies not at least having a conversation with her to explain all that. He treated her with such cold heartedness and disrespect it was not justified or justifiable. As you said she did nothing wrong, yet she is supposed to be understanding and accepting of it all and move on, while he is not expected to show any understanding of her feelings and at the very least let her down gently. It was horrible behaviour and in keeping with the over all badly written story.
Thank you for noting the horrible way ML treated ex really poorly written like a lot if the drama after ep 6. Totally get the tonal shifts making it seem like different dramas. Could i ask what was the Itaweon incident 🤔

Thank you i felt exactly the same. The last scene between them just summed him up. She is unbelievably gracious and he just sits there cold and distant it was pathetic. I didnt even bother watching the last episode. The leads were both totally diminished and lost any reason to root for them with how they treated her. What a terribly written plot line it was just awful
One aspect of the story that essentially ruined it for me was the MLs back story with his ex. It was a really poor inresolved plot line that really just made the ML come across as a heartless horrible guy and his lack of any kind of empathy toward her any kind of remorse of how he treated her, he has no sympathy about how their relationship ended. It diminished him and the FL so much I couldnt root for them after that. In Ep 14 or 15 the ex gf initiates a meeting with him where she graciously accepts they are over and attempts to leave on goid terms. He just sits there saying nothing it is pathetic weak and cowardly. That waz the last straw I just dropoed it their and then because after that I could nit care for him or the FL at all

LOL of course we can agree to disagree. I see your points re the FL. But as a viewer i want it to make sense. And it made no sense that she would run with the assumption he was losing interest when all she had to do waz be honest at the most important moment of their lives together. If she actualky loved him that would be the least she would do to try and save things. So hence i felt as a viewer it didnt make sense that it was badly written and so lost interest. And then to write their reunion with her being so indifferent to him after she had been so much at fault and to have him not challenge it and her not regret it more and apologise more and to have her so easily dismiss him for a new guy she barely knows who is also potentially a murderer again just doesnt make sense. Obviously its fiction but even fiction should male sense this didnt and so any enjoyment was lost with such glaring plot holes at least for me. But I did enjoy reading your thoughts for what its worth. I would be happy with the outcomes if it was just done a bit better. Also the wooden nature of the ML also made their apparent falling deeply in love so quickly hard to believe. The 2ML was so much more emotive in the few scenes he was in.

Right but she didnt trust the ML because of learning from her mistake she already trusted him. Hence my point that she gave him more trust in a short period than the guy she was going to marry. Like it was sad because it was so unfair. She lied by omission to this guy every day and knows his thoughts. But never reveals that to him which if she had they would be married now with babies. When everything is revealed he is like ok can we try again. She is no sorry i met this guy recently and I already trust him i even have decided not to believe a lie he told me (about killing someone no less.) I couldnt trust you because you wouldnt tell me where you were going for a few days but i trust him even though he killed someone. She wasnt even guilty she just kicked him to the kerb without really even apologising.. And to be clear in Ep 8 she clearly is happy to continue to trust ML before she meets 2ML and realises why he'd being lying. I just thought it wasnt written succesfully as sad it was too contrivedcand unsatisfying. And of course instead of the FL being challanged on her blatant hypocrisy the 2Ml has to act all noble and forgiving. Like when she tells him she hears lies he should have been furious with her for not bothering to tell him at such a crucial time. She broke up with him for being a liar while she was lying to him every single moment of their relationship.Instead of trusting . I just hate lazy wrotten characters like 2ML that are just written to be dumped on. Also the key to writing sad succesfully is that the characters can be sympathised with. Yes i get that but dont you think she moved on way too easily compared to him. And that shed already moved on prior to realising how badly she treated him. I mean she has already given the new guy she barely knows more trust than she ever gave the ex jt just didnt make sense to me. At the point i dropped it shed met him for dinner he 'd explained his actions told her he was still in love with her walks her home and she just says ok so im going goodbye i just tbought wow I cant root for this girl shes just a bit heartless and selfish.
