A guaranteed historical classic. This drama transcends most of the run of the mill "canned" drama formulas. It actually told a consistent story and employed the best director, actors, actresses, script writers and cinema artistry. Not perfect but close to it -- the chemistry made this one of my favorites. If you love love you will love this drama.
This was my marathon drama for the week. I don't believe I watched all 132 episodes. However I decided to fast forward through some scenes after deciding which characters I wanted to focus on more. I would not recommend this drama unless you just have a lot of time to waste . The story could have been told in 25 to 30 episodes but it became a merry go round - stopping to drop some characters and add new ones in its attempt to keep the story fresh. Usual drinking scenes of spinless men and yelling scenes of frustrated or scheming women, mothers, or mother figures. Older adult children were mindless robots controlled by parents. The usual social status abuses and discrimination based on birth. Nothing special so I would not recommend unless you are really bored with your life.
decided to watch the 2003 version before watching the current remake. I enjoyed the 2003 although slow as many comments indicate. However, the 2016 version is fresh and the actors are doing a good job so far. Light comedy at best but enjoyable.Looking forward to the future episodes to see how adaptable they become to current trends in k dramas without the cliches of course.
Love it - initially watching because in love with the acting of Park Shi Yeon. Was pleasantly surprised to see her in the drama However, the illness of Ji Soo is reducing her role and changing the focus of the story All of the actors and actresses are strong and talented and even though the story line appears to be the same old same old I'm hanging in there and enjoying the drama..praying it doesn't become boring or bog down in cliches.
This is a good drama because it strives to be precise in every conversation. The camera work is phenomenal and I am enjoying it -- although frustrated because it is being translated very slowly. The usual love themes are presented but this is a special drama because the complications are realistically portrayed. A filler drama for me right now
Not the worst drama -- have exactly the opposite opinion. Story is evolving and has become more intriguing as each episode is released. I am at a lost why you feel this way about this drama becasuse the strongest point is character development and different storyline from most K dramas. This story is mature as opposed to whimsical light romance.
This is one of my top dramas. First, it is different - a love story that evolves from bad intentions, manipulaiton, and reribution. Oh Hae Two is just adorable. A teenager in a grown woman's body with loving caring parents which make this drama entertaining. The secondary characters fill the void for entertainment. Each week becomes more interesting because the back story has to evolve and it will interesting to find out when and how the writers weave it into the story. I am actually rewatching before the ending because there is so much substance to the drama that is missed by cursory viewing. It waks a while to understand Eric Mun's character but now that I have rewatched I have even more praise for the drama. I always say each viewer gets something different out of these dramas so I rearely trash a drama unless it is a ZERO or has major flaws and challenges your EQ and IQ both.
Watching Refresh Man (Ep 12) and went Ballistic!!! I loved this drama and just getting into watching Taiwanese…
Thanks for the correction. I realize there are two separate drama venues. I guess my point should be censorship is just not at the producer level. drams have toned down sexual innuendo tremendously because of censorship.

I love to marathon and there are too many drama choices out there -(from past and current) - love my Taiwanese dramas and just moved on to others --Summer Desire and Thinking of You on Viki. My pride as a Black person could never excuse this --even though director or writers fault. It still had to have been filtered through some censorshipo -- had that been a sex scene it would have been deleted -- just like the boobs in the Empress drama Forgiveness is not in my heart---- you enjoy. When you get slapped in the face by one of these dramas or by anyone who offends you -- you will not be as tolerant or continue watching in life.
Watching Refresh Man (Ep 12) and went Ballistic!!! I loved this drama and just getting into watching Taiwanese dramas -- I was so offended I can't settle myself. Black face is the most RACIST thing anyone does -- and the implication that using soap makes you cleaner made it more offensive. No amount of apologizing will remove the offense that was just made by this drama-- and to think no one was there to just tell them this is WRONG WRONG WRONG. Why do I think it is RACIST -- because research history and you will understand the implication. Dropping this drama and writing someone in Taiwan so they understand there are socially offensive subjects that should be deleted-- I am NOT LAUGHING!!!!
Good drama - funny, cute at times and frustrating at others, good plot, great acting, excellent writing and editing and just plain entertaining. Worth your viewing time.-- will see your share of Korean cliches (that is inevitable in most K dramas).
I love this drama as well but with only 16 subbed episodes it is hard to retain interest. The subbing is extremely slow on Viki. I may abandon and wait a month to see whether more episodes subbed so I can marathon this drama.
Only if you have few options. I thought it dragged a little but since it was only 40 min I persevered and finished this one. Storyline really depends on your tastes....but nothing unique to brag about. Good scenery shots of London but usual love triangles, business conflicts, unfair practices,.... But no amnesia. :)
Very slow drama that is like a see saw. Enjoy the beginning but as each episode progressed I began to lose interest in the story and the characters. Finishedit with some distractions and felt it never rose to the level of a great drama that it could have been. Ending was only okay.
This was a drama I watched during my "sleepless nights". It was basically an okay drama but nothing about the story would compel me to marathon it during the day. The problem was basically the lack of editing out of breaks creating a distracting overlap of scenes that was annoying. Ending was predictable. Actors were not outstanding but performed their jobs credibly. I believe the female lead was poorly chosen - the rich man poor girl theme needs to be more realistically portrayed. Several secondary characters were just annoying and appeared "not to be in character." You can skip this one.
Enjoyed this drama (having started to watch over 2 years ago and dropping it). Finally decided to watch, I was put off a little by the slapstick comedy intermingled with the seriousness of the overall message. The flow of the drama is smooth and consistent and as a marathoner of K dramas I found this easy to watch multiple and continuous episodes without taking long breaks in between. The acting is good and you are conflicted in many episodes deciding what is right or wrong decisions for the characters so there is a challenge for the viewers. I would recommend this drama because once you get funny the serious is serious and worth the time.
I'll post my reply to my friend Turkish Rose when she asked me what I thought of DOTS: DOTS was just a screaming,…
Yong Pal was good but the over hyped part was the actress Kim Tae Hee who was comatose most of the drama and even more so after she gained consciousness - yet received awards for her performance.
