I just happened to read this article, and now I am asking myself why I take the time to read some of the comments. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? Social media has become the faceless two-faced devil in this world. I truly have no opinion. We need to "rev down" our written opinions sometimes -- especially since it can become tantamount to bullying and result in suicide. Why are we putting a negative label on him through comments? How will the damage to his reputation be restored if innocent? How can you apologize if your opinion of him is wrong? Just saying from an old woman. Let's take the high road and have "no opinion."

Just finished this episode and fine it entertaining and rewarding. The level of romantic interest between a king and a cook has been appropriately developed and the cooking competition episodes have been interesting. Too old to be a fan boy and more into the depth of story telling and I feel this is one of the better shows airing. 3 more episodes and it concluded with a great cliff hanger.

These allegations of gambling are only an attempt to undermine his career. Gambling is a self-inflicted injury if you lose, but a self-satisfying form of entertainment if you win. It is not like he is gambling his fortune away, but hanging out with his friends regularly to enjoy the fun of taking a chance - win or lose. It is not drugs, it is not extramarital sex or sex with an underage girl, or drinking and driving. . Aren't there entire cities specializing in gambling? (Las Vegas and Macau, which is in China). Obviously, with his star status, he can't openly enter any of these places without being recognized and pursued by fans. Leave the man alone and don't ruin his career over these revelations about his habits. It is not costing his fans a dime.

I am so happy to hear that the movie is being released. I will be heartbroken if the movie is tampered with to limit the role of Yoo Ah In - one of my favorite Korean Actors. I always think to myself before I judge others -- "but for the grace of God - go I", He is blessed with a talent that very few can even dream of achieving, and to deny this talent by limiting his "role" in a movie would be disastrous and undeserving of the actor - versus the human man that people are so quick to condemn and persecute. Let's support all actors / and humans for they are people with flaws just like we have but not on public display. He deserves our support !!!!

Only difference-- the American police would have shot everyone before we got to the action scenes. And the officers…
Respect to you as well

I agree with your point of view (except referring to American police as useless). the story emphasizes and highlights how far the squad was willing to go - including enlisting the aid of friends to resolve the problem. I just didn't see a reason to malign American police officers. I thoroughly enjoyed the show - but from the perspective of Korean culture.

As a fan I wish there was a way to send letters of encouragement and hope to him on a regular basis. I think this would be helpful to him maintaining his sanity and help with recovery. Instead of being vilified by the system those that appreciate the stresses and demands made on him to be actor and the resulting use of drugs to compensate for these extreme emotions (prescribed by doctors) would be helpful. I always remember Michael Jackson and the medical journey that led to his death but obviously necessary for him because he could not sleep or rest.

this show started off with a bang. i wish stuff like this existed in america. our useless ass police
Only difference-- the American police would have shot everyone before we got to the action scenes. And the officers being attacked would have used poles, bats, knives and every other weapon around to fight back and annihilate -- instead of just their hands. And a secondary comment in response - half the police squad and SWAT and FBI would have resolved this (especially after the first officer died). Not useless police in America but useful.

Prosecutors are solely asking for an upgraded and extreme punishment for WHO HE IS. Not the fact that he is a MEDICAL patient who obviously is addicted to drugs and needs medical attention not punishment. Someone is trying to build their career in law enforcement on the back of this very talented and ill actor. I am a Yoo Ah In fan and anyone who has taken any addictive pain medication - either illegally or legally under doctor's advice should understand the POWER of the drug over the MIND and the decision you may make. after taking the medication or drug. If he spends a day in jail -- it would be unfair -- He is not a criminal but a very sick man that needs help.

You're 100% correct, we need some new law to protect rich and powerful people from evil victims. /sNo wonder most…
I love all the negative feedback to my comments. We live in different countries or situations so our opinions will differ. The most interesting feature of all the responses is --- the uncivil and crude responses to my comments. The social media invisibility of responses allows some people to be rude to others and that is my response to the rudeness of comments. If you have a different point of view from your perspective -- I respect that -- I have not been exempt from being bullied growing up (way back in the 50ties and 60aies =so you can guess my age. That is the nature of most "civilized" societies with different social status cultures. We grew up learning that was this pecking order. You can call me names but it exposes you as probably one of the people that bullied others -- you just have not become famous enough to have people pull you back to remind you of your past transgressions.

People like me report any and every transgression committed right away and in a timely manner. I don't see this as rich or poor but expedient disposition of punishment in the proximity of the cause of action. Not delayed by 5 or 10 years joining a trend to accuse someone whose probability of becoming successful in life is probably less than 5%. Once the person breaks through a barrier and becomes successful then a herd of folks all remember "the time " they were bullied by this person. Bullying is not acceptable so your response does not address my concern but mocks it. Justice and fairness must be decisive and responsive RIGHT AWAY = so complaints should always report these injustices in a timely manner. Therefore, the alleged perpetrator will have to defend successfully or suffer punishment immediately-- not wind up with a public career or even fame in the eyes of many.

Unfortunate situation but I wonder why the word "bullying" is being used with no time for making the accusation (where is the statute of limitations). I have watched K dramas over the past 10 years, I would conclude it is a "cultural phenomenon" based on situational relationships. Children bully, teenagers bully, and even adult bullying seem to be a way of life in Korea. However, when adults are later accused of bullying it appears to be a social status thing or an attempt to ruin or "get even" with an individual based on an unfortunate or deliberate event that made one person feel inferior. Someone needs to introduce laws that define this constant attempt to "bring down" entertainers based on past relationships and further introduce serious legal consequences when they don't rise to the level of legal sustainability in a court of law or after a mediation hearing. Unjustified accusations should result in heavy fines or even jail time for those who ruin the goodwill of another citizen based on "hurt feelings". Otherwise, everyone in Korea would be on bended knees. Is there anyone left that hasn't been offended by someone?

What is wrong with this world? He did not murder, rape, slander, defraud, embezzle, commit adultery, harm animals or harm children --- he harmed himself and needs help, not condemnation. These folks are major cowards living lies by doing this to this actor and this drama. Re-EDIT -- I am livid right now. One of the best actors Korea has ever produced is being ball and chained, glued with feathers, and shamed by an industry that should be ashamed of itself for not standing firm that this production and other productions should go forward without criticizing the person who has probably made "mucho" money for all these lame-brained folks in the past.
On Yong An Dream Mar 13, 2024
Finished episode 20 and I find no fault with this drama. It has great actors and although the FL is younger and appears extremely inexperienced in life she has carried her role well. I look forward to each new episode and I am assuming a resolution that is not unacceptable. The writers have done well keeping a thread of mystery alive in each episode and the "whoduit" question keeps you guessing along the way.
On Untold Herstory Mar 6, 2024
Since this was a true story the impact was more emotional than I anticipated. The right to be considered innocent until proven guilty was the exact reverse. The sheer torture and abuse of prisoners with no limitations was appalling. The story was well-written and worth the watch. Not perfect by any means but emotional.
