This line is what makes me wonder why people even form opinions based on negative folks' comments: "Although there were negative comments about the casting,"
I was raised with the following philosophy ---- If I can not say anything nice – bite my tongue and walk away. I will always have the opportunity to come back and have a more thoughtful discussion later and a reflection on my thoughts.
You can never take back thoughtless words that you are very likely to regret later. TOP deserves respect for all he has done in the past and any mistakes he has made in life are why God sits in judgment -- not man -- we need to use our erasures to move forward and give him confidence to restore his career and enjoy his life with the same adulation he shared before his mistakes.
I finished but was ambivalent about overall rating. Started slow, picked up, and was addicting, then as the final episodes were executed the drama seemed to fall off the cliff with trying to write an engaging and interesting conclusion. The FL became more and more childish while the ML became more and more mature. There never seemed to be a balance in their relationship. There is a hint of intimacy between the two but you never feel it because the storytellers need to create angst between the two to drag this drama out for 32 episodes. I am a major Bin Bin fan and as usual, he carries the drama. He needs better roles to highlight his talent such as the drama Rattan.
Binge watched - terrible subs - but acting and story was so good I could not give up the story. The older custom dramas are so much better than the current costume dramas. I think it is because the censors were not working overtime to shred the creative ideas of the writer.
As the previous commenter mentioned - all over the place to the point of ridiculous. You would think this is one of these 2 min short clip segments that the editor tried to piece together to become a final project. Even with two of the biggest names in Chinese actors, they can't save this mess. On Youtube so I watched. I want my time back.
Saw this drama on Amazon Prime and it was very good drama with complicated revenge themes included . However, discovered it only had season 1 translated and could not find the remaining 20 episodes Wasted 2 days watching this incomplete (translated drama). Really a bust. Don't start if you can't find the 30 episodes translated. Just a heads up.
Hi, I have a question about the show. Qiyou was raised by a woman that looked like Ma Fuya but he also likes Ma…
Are you joking? I am 73 years old and can barely remember yesterday 4-7-2023 and have watched probably 1000 or more episodes of Korean, THai, Japanese, American and Chinese dramas and movies since 6 years ago. You are on your own on this one. (smile).
It was called Sea of Ambition on You Tube (gosh I was shocked to find it -- I have short term memory loss so going back 5 years was impossible. But I was able to track it from my usual sources.
Netflix has zero reasons for cancelling. All the western garbage trash they roll out and now they're so orthodox…
You hit the nail on its head. Netflix shows so much garbage it is hypocritical for this streaming service to at as "TEMPORARY" judge over a production because of an actor's 'serious needs for medical intervention. Pure Korean cancel culture that is unjustified in 99% of the cases of cancellation.
What is "woke" s**t.? I thought it was something conservatives in America invented to be racist and discriminate…
I am not the type to argue a point but since you used the word "woke" in an international arena I thought it was important to let you know the American use of the term -- It is used to denigrate, disrespect, deny, divide and devalue the legitimate opinions, lifestyles and cultures of different groups. It is the rising cesspool of "hate" that is growing faster than weeds. It is a movement that has become the watch word for a totalitarian government entity in the U.S. that is challenging the individual personal freedoms people have acquired after coming to this country.. The use of the word woke (without understanding the political weight of the word) is risky. It is not like saying "zutter" A catchy word but so much is behind it in current political trends. Just a heads up as the ultimate consequence of expanding the use of the word to what I always called "tropes".
What is "woke" s**t.? I thought it was something conservatives in America invented to be racist and discriminate…
As I age, I realize that the "new vernacular" does not suit all situations but becomes a catchy phrase and yes it has been pandered so much that it has absolutely no meaning in my life other than prejudice and racism. Just shocked to see it used in a comment on a Korean drama. Just pray it doesn't become a worldwide craze. Always liked the word trope to describe the phenomenon which the viewer wishes to avoid.

You are talking about tropes I guess. Where I live the word WOKE is used for everything so it has become the most negative word in the vocabulary. Don't need to research slang without a true definition.
They should release all of his works and not harm others that participated in the filming. This is a case of self-harm that needs to be addressed with medical attention and compassion as opposed to external harm and ill wishes from others. I always think of the friends I have who have fallen into drug abuse after painful medical conditions that were prescribed drugs by doctors that introduced them to that euphoria. I could have fallen prey to drugs after two painful surgeries. The first time I felt peace in my life from all the struggles I was going through. Once you become addicted it is hard to find your way back. Compassion is the best fan service we can do in this case.
