I dont know how much of the book it follows but in the novel the FL didn't go blind. She was distraught and in a state of shock because she witness her friend die. The mom oppses them because she wanted him to marry the childfriend friend zhou something, can't recall her name. That girl's family is really rich and powerful so he wanted him to marry her and fight for the company. The mom was not loving at all. She wanted to use her son to fulfill her ambition. She is the definition of a toxic parent.

I believe in the novel he actually got his leg cut off and he wears a prosthetic. They're nicer to him in the drama lol.

I dont understand this either. I thought the music was very well done. Each bgm is appropriate for the scenes and it elevated all the scenes it was used it. The lyrics of all the songs are vert fitting to the drama. Now if i had to complain about music in a drama, it would be immortal samsara.

I agree with you up to a certain point. I agree that he was never truly a dying man, just a sick one. No ones knows his situation better than himself. He always said he got his own ways to deal with the poison. I feel even though he only had 10% of yangzhouman left it was enough to keep him alive even if it didnt cure him. For example everytime he uses yangzhouman he gets really sick but alway seems to bounce back after he surpresses it or after FBD use some yangzhouman on him. If he really wanted to die he would have just jump off the clif into the river. He wouldn't have waited for a boat to come by and junp into the boat. He's a cunning man. His last trick was to make people think he was dying so he can get away and live in seclusion. All good wuxia dramas always have a really power master who happens to live in seclusion, lol.

He said it very quickly in one of the dialogues so if you blink you'll miss it lol.

Dont get me wrong I watched noble aspirations for the main leads at that time but that show disappointed me, however, it did shift my interest to cheng yi instead. Agreed, chengyi is a total intorvert and li hong yi is totally an extrovert. They both give off different vibes. Althought they have similar physique, i feel li hong yi sometimes has a more noticeable hunch. Cheng yi definitely has better stamina and acting skills. Although I do like both of them. I like Li hong yi since I watched him in prodigy healer but his acting hasn't improved much.

I believe one of the artist of the background music shares a bts of the recording of the bgm soundtrack for lotus casebook. The amount of effort everyone put in on this drama is amazing. The music scores leaves me feeling all kinds of emotions.
