I didn't as much dislike any of the characters she played, just the way she portrayed them and on both occasions I thought she was fine until about halfway through the show which really sucks because at that point I am already invested in it. It may shock you but there are such things as bad actresses as well and IMHO (which you don't have to agree with) she is not a good actress. And not one that I choose to spend my time watching. If I am wrong and she does a great job here, I will be happy for you since you spent the time but its not a big loss for me since the version of this I watched was amazing. Enjoy!

I hear you on what is going on the US etc but I wouldn't call this one a silly and happy show either. It is one of the darkest wuxia I have seen in a long time. I think that is why @Maryxiah is looking for something lighter. The Bad Kids is in the crime thriller/mystery category which is supposed to explore the dark side of human nature. It would be train wreck if it weren't dark. iQiyi is making a big push in that genre I am very excited to watch the rest if they are going to be as good as The Bad Kids.

Yeah she was annoying also in The Legends. Actually I liked both characters initially and they grew irritating halfway. Don't think its a coincidence but if you like her and this story, please do enjoy it. For me, it is something I saw before, don't need to re-watch unless I think I am gonna love the cast.

Beyond not overdubbing, in this drama, other dialests, especially Cantonese is spoken, which enhances the sense of authenticity of this drama.

OMG it is this irritating girl from My Roomate is a Detective. Not gonna watch this anymore.

The writing in NIF2 is a high bar that is hard to beat and needless to say, in this there is room for improvement. I actually thought her character in NIF2 was pretty awesome the way it was written but her intrepetation was lacking. Just one tragic expression the entire time - I almost skipped this because of her. But notwithstanding weaker writing, I do think she is doing well here.

Phew! Was sad but I was worried about something else. I don't really buy it that the turkey is not interested in her but stilll, phew! Some logic holes are best ignored...

ROP is not angsty until about 50 and not really even then the girl just gets dumbed down a bit but is still smart. But it’s definitely no rom com. I am watching the Eight it’s very action oriented with a hot male lead and very cool characters but the story is only so-so. I noticed quite a few rom coms airing on iQiyi...

Yeah I am only watching dark shows this summer. Since I can't travel this summer, I signed up for tennis boot camp for a daily butt kicking. I ache so much its much much too painful to laugh... I just can't win - either I get whacked with physical pain or mental pain...

Geez you just don't want to have a wedding in this drama...

The ghost boy was my favorite character.

To be honest, this one has been slipping bit by small bit for awhile already. You can see it from the way the rating keeps slipping. I still think its very good if you focus on the wuxia story. The romances were never that well written from the get go, esp with the young couple.

I never watch trailers. They are deceptive and manipulative from my experience.

Tyvm - I also prefer to hear more local accents but it sounds good enough to watch regardless. The SG version was so long ago!
