This!!! His motive would have been better if he weren’t Bei Hai’s son but just another Haiya orphan who was collateral damage to everything that happened.

Yeah it would have been more in character for Zhong to give the other kid to the poison master who was a sect brother of Bei Hai or the spy master (or someone in the capital) so that the brothers could grow up together.

Yeah it was a big misdirect.

if you go back to watch it carefully he had many suspicious scenes including the one where he pretty much gave Qing Ying the knife to kill herself with.

It was excellent casting. I just hate that Zhong gave him to Tong Xin who was obviously an asshole instead of Bei Hai’s sect brother.

His voice changed after he claimed his identity as Yesha. It became a voice that sounds uncannily like WXY's (but I personally think its close but it is not WXY's voice).

Excellent drama from start to finish. What I love is that they kept us second guessing ourselves. In the end, they stuck with the straightforward ending. Plot wise, I didn't think it was the best ending. It was still very good but I think there could have been better twists. This was what I will call the "easy" ending that was what many of us guessed but discarded. What is brilliant is there could have been at least two other excellent endings, that is how well written this is. But I am fine that they opted for the most straightforward one because it was made up for by He Luoluo's most excellent ending. He could have still been the villain Yesha but Bei Kun could have been either Zhuge or Feng but HLL's acting and his chemistry with WXY made me understand the director's choice. I personally think Bei Kun = Feng would have been a better plot twist BUT I also think that this was not Chen Youwei's best role so I kind of understand why he may have been sidelined in the finale. By that, I mean that I expected him to at least be part of the antidote solution but NOPE. Nonetheless this is a terrific and engrossing drama that entertained me immensely.

Ending comments:

It begins and ends with a wedding BUT its not a romance drama if you are a romance watcher and that is what you are looking for, look elsewhere.

They are not allegations, Chinese people did eat dogs and sadly in some places, they still do.. No need to deny facts. BUT it is not widespread the way the Western media makes it out to be. In fact, it is far more popular in Korea than it is in China.

Nope I think TS is dead dead. He was misguided, yes but he was also despicable and did unforgivable things. There is no good ending that involves him living.

Yes but I suspect they also cheated a bit with the voice dubbing. I think they used 2 different voice actors.

I think he was also unlucky to be old enough to be traumatised by what happened even though he may not have remembered the specifics. Beiming was lucky to be an infant at the time and remembered nothing.

I am not either. He was everyone's first suspect and in these stories, often the first suspect is also the final suspect. Its common and effective way to structure these plots - first make you suspect him, then debunk it or raise doubt only to in the end come back to him. But the moment I was sure it was him was when he smiled in that creepy way right before getting "crushed" by the rockfall.
