Why the red grand master of revenge keeps on smelling her finger in all her scenes? That repetitive gesture strikes…
Maybe she is trying to do a Chinese Dr Evil (Austin Powers).

LOL - its to hide the full moon cheeks he recently acquired. Which I think are so adorable they shouldn't bother.
I call it the cat-fish do. If anyone can pull it off, he can!

Oh no - is it that bad? I thought they looked ok but I only watched the first few before turning the subs off.
Don't remember the exact title but he is just the sect master of an intelligence gathering organization. It would be a gross exaggeration translate his title as emperor so I see what you mean about the subs. In general, titles can be hard to translate, I can't claim to be super good at it. My Bahasa is on the rusty side so I also won't notice the naunces of sentence construction etc, I just can tell whether the meaning is there or not based on what is said.

Fingers crossed... we actually have mature, smart leads with fresh ways of dealing with problems and so far no silly misunderstandings. And I kind of love the way they managed to get a second couple that both have slightly assymetrical faces its so 夫妻相! (look of a couple).

Ugh! Can't stand the 2 strands of hair on Ren Jialun's face, keep tickling his nose. I feel like scissoring them…

the first 2 episodes are all over the place. i love u zhang huiwen, but nif2 set the standards too high :((
She is actually better here IMHO. I did not enjoy her perpetually tragic expression in NIF2 when her backstory wasn't actually that tragic. I am delighted to finally see this gal smile!!!

OMG I would faint!
Moral of the story - guard the remote with your life. Best keep in hand not to be distracted by screen activity into letting go!!! LOL!!!

Hahaha.....Could have been worse.... like she grabs the remote from you, rewinds, replays in slow motion and watch noisily with you...

Title Love a Lifetime Spoiler
Do they ever say how the two leads meet? Idk the beginning was sorta weird
It appears random and that part was really not well done because everyone falls in love at first sight pretty much (eyes roll). But as I watch I am beginning to wonder if it was so accidental. This is one where the backstory takes awhile to reveal itself and you have to pay attention.

Title Love a Lifetime Spoiler
It's kind of confusing at times. I need to re-watch some scenes to understand ... and it's a love triangle...
With a brilliant resolution, I loved it!!!

Yeah and you have to be careful with that. Like ExpressVPN which is the one I use doesn't have a China server so you actually cannot get into the China firewall. Actually I haven't found one that can get into China.

I like him a lot too but to my shock and horror it is my mama that is cyber stalking him!!! I know bc she shares my youtube account and it all comes up. .. Sigh - I just tell myself retirement must be boring to excuse her behavior...

It does pick up again after 40 but sounds like it may be too much a struggle for you to get there...

The Chinese version is cheaper than the international (about half the price) but it has streaming problems outside of China.

Sadly in Q1 although subscription revenue +30pct they lost about the same amount in ad revenue and bottom line loss was ~$300mm. They said Q2 ads still not recovering so probably will be similar hit on bottom line. We blame regulator all the time for drama delays but for things like the much anticipated The Wolf I suspect the platforms don't want to launch until they can get enough ad dollars behind it.

I think they all lose similar amounts of money but Alibaba and Tencent are able to hide the losses because their streaming business is not separately listed. But Baidu is better off selling iQiyi and Tencent and Alibaba/Youku are gonna both have to bid for it. Viewers eventually have to pay to watch so everytime I am upset I tell myself I am free-riding on billions of losses and I try not to complain so much - LOL! But I have VIP for Youku and iQiyi even though most of the time I don't have time to watch that fast but because I love drama I want to support and its cheap. I don't subscribe Tencent on principle bc I think their shows are more bad than good.
