I have to say the other Chen drama queen looked absolutely stunning in the white costume and the way he looked into the camera... WOW! Of course I was rooting for Shang Xirui but that was just a fantastic moment.

You should just get someone to send you a LongTV. It literally has everything in high definition and for the shows I am watching it is as fast as the VIP for both iqiyi and Youku. Its a tiny box, smaller than Apple TV. I brought it back from KL to HK and it works fine, just plug into TV and logon to wifi. Its a one off purchase, no need to pay recurring fees. Chinese subs only.

I did start it some time back - it is highly acclaimed for good reason and. the kind of show I normally like a lot. But I never managed to progress far because I find watching anything with subtitles very difficult after reading off a computer screen at work for 12 hours each day. I do mean to complete it some day.

Enjoy! The drama has it flaws but it’s still in my top 3 and I went into a bad slump after so be warned. And wow - it was so hard to stop cyberstalking Chen. Kun and Ni Ni.

This year has been much better (other than this one) for unconventional FL and/or ML roles. Both Under the Power and Miss Truth are notable in that sense although the secondary characters still are same old same old.

Guo Jia is actually my favorite character so far.

This show is so well written it has so much more than just the relationship between the two leads. I absolutely loved the gun shooting competiton - I laughed my head off while appreciating the symbolism and message behind what CFT did at the same time.

Having caught up to 16, I highly doubt the leads will have romance. I suspect Dora has a lost lover who owns the stupid cloak she was fighting with Tang Fan over and she will ask him to help her locate him. And I think the silly Yu girl is just going to be in this one arc. If anything Dr Pei elopes with Tang Fan's sister - that is the only likely romance from what I can see.

Yeah they should have cast a more experienced actor as Wuji - the guy was just too green he didn't have enough screen presence. Yang Xiao stole the limelight. That said, best remake so far.

I don't like the humor either - it is funny in small doses but they always take it too far and it just becomes crass. The problem is Jackie Chan is such a legend (who has a rather low sense of humor) that no one dares to criticize him or give him honest feedback.

As someone who never read the book, I am not at all invested in what happened in the book and am indifferent as to whether they change it in the drama. A change for the better is fine by me. That said, I don't think romance needs to be a part of this be it BG or BL. If they can incorporate it and it is well done, that's great, even if it is BG. The 3 core characters are interesting enough by themselves. All the rest is rather superflous, I am not going to get that fussed abou it.

Yeah, I am into my third month of social distancing and my apartment definitely feels like a lonely castle at this point. I probably would have waited to watch this if they didn't change the name.

Yeah I had to drop ELOD as well. I hate this guy. He loves making women look dump and stupid. And he turned Dijun into a stupid teenager rather than make Fengjiu grow up. He ruined that story and those characters as well. What a turd. I won't watch anymore of his drama. I don't know about his endings bc I never make it to the end.
