Hmmm... can't say I had similar reactions other than I am very sure you are not supposed to like Mo Huan. She has ulterior motives for everything she does and she only saves people because it results in prolonged suffering. But you are much more patient than I, if I disliked something from the beginning I wouldn't make it this far... maybe this one is just not for you. It is a dark show, not everyone's taste. I do find the comic relief sometimes mis-timed or inappropriate, maybe that is what is bugging you.

Not an expert but from what I saw in the early episodes, I suspect the English subs are auto translated from either Thai, Indonesian, and/or Vietnamese. That is much better that just a straight machine translate. I saw the first ~6 episodes on Youtube with Indonesian subs it looked decent to me. Since then, I have watched the last 30+ episodes with Chinese subtitles only so can't tell you wheter it is decent throughout but there have been some complaints wrt titles. I saw on the threads someone is properly subbing it in English somewhere you can scroll down and look for it.

Don't really see where you are coming from... may I ask which episodes/incidents specifically make you laugh when you are supposed to cry?

I felt the same but.... hate to be the one to break it to you... he is hiding nothing. Don't hold your breath - this dude is all brain no brawn.

Oh of course it is signature Mei Changsu... no other character has the right to copy it IMHO!!! Our lead in this show is so handsome, he totally deserves his own signature oh I am so sick I am gonna die soon outfit!!!

I must confess I am not a fan of the Mei Changsu outfit - must all terminally ill brilliant and ruthlessly vengeful strategists dress the same way from now? Is it a uniform? Geez.. first a cheap Khal Drogo knock-off and now this. This costume designer lacks imagination.

Yeah I ddin't feel sad either. I was however doing cartwheels when Su Yunlou makes the first move on Qingci. At least she knows what she wants now and when ever does the girl pretty much jump the dude in these shows? Good on her!!! The rest that follows was stupid though.

I am still enjoying it although I felt it got less exciting the moment they left Dragon Roar City.

Honestly there were some parts that were a bit off color and borderline offensive but it doesn't last that long.

Its just excessive bonding - a terrible idea to develop every love relationship and explore every friendship permutation between all the characters at one go . Especially when the way relationships are written is not this drama's strong point.

Oh man! All these deaths... I really hope this is not a futile sacrifics and Su Xuan/emperor Ai is worth it!!!

Both Cangqi and Xuanye are such hot muscle in this show I have to say there are two bad-ass ladies with such good taste in this drama....

Yeah, there are a lot of suggestion of mirror actions in this drama. So ZCY saw ZDS push his in-laws off the mountain and rush to the edge to pretend to save them. Did ZCY do the same thing to his sister or did he just decline to help her when she was hanging? I suspect he may have pushed her because if he didn't, he wouldn't need to kill Pupu and Yan Liang (Pupu witnessed what he did and may have told Yan Liang). Not saving his half sister is not a crime, it makes him cold-hearted but it is not enough motive for manipulating ZDS into murdering his only two friends in the world.
He is not the only bad kid in this show - his half-sister is a pretty bad kid too. And her mother and her uncle are just plain evil as well.

You mean Yan Liang? It is an interpretation ending, I think it is most likely that Yan Liang was stabbed on the boat by Dongsheng. The hanging is just Chaoyang's imagination and it mirrors what happened to Jingjing - she hung by the window before falling. I think he may even have pushed her but maybe he just watched and didn't help.

I like Bambi, I think she is a good actress and her Xuan Nu was the best villain in TMOPB dunno why everyone focused so much on Sujin. I liked Zhiyan at first as well even when she was weak but later she started to overact and I was put off but not enough to stop me from watching her in MRIAD. I was one of the few that actually liked her character/acting there until the last 10 episodes I was so repulsed I dropped the show. Didn't watch White Snake but life is short and time is limited. I think I gave her a fair enough shot to know that I ain't watching her here.

I was worried he would try to sleep with her and was relieved that he said he wasn't interested. But it seems too good to be true to me. If I were her, I would have ran away at the altar. C'mon this is supposed to be strong woman wuxia, no need to wait for the dude to show up to save you from marrying a creep. Just run run run run run girl, run!!!

I didn't as much dislike any of the characters she played, just the way she portrayed them and on both occasions I thought she was fine until about halfway through the show which really sucks because at that point I am already invested in it. It may shock you but there are such things as bad actresses as well and IMHO (which you don't have to agree with) she is not a good actress. And not one that I choose to spend my time watching. If I am wrong and she does a great job here, I will be happy for you since you spent the time but its not a big loss for me since the version of this I watched was amazing. Enjoy!

I hear you on what is going on the US etc but I wouldn't call this one a silly and happy show either. It is one of the darkest wuxia I have seen in a long time. I think that is why @Maryxiah is looking for something lighter. The Bad Kids is in the crime thriller/mystery category which is supposed to explore the dark side of human nature. It would be train wreck if it weren't dark. iQiyi is making a big push in that genre I am very excited to watch the rest if they are going to be as good as The Bad Kids.
