I am not at all worried he dies from poison. If this is a success, they will try to make more seasons of it. Can't do that if they kill off one of the detectives.

While I really like Li Landi's acting, her character in Coroner's Diary is way too perfect, mature and rational. I prefer characters who have some some flaws and room to grow. You are right, Xueman was over protected but she is spunky and fights for her right to be part of the team. The misunderstanding is no less the ML's fault. He not only didn't empower her or share his thoughts with her, he more or less lied and tricked her - on their wedding day. Wow! Whatever his motives, that is not the kind of man or relationship she deserves. But I am willing to be forgiving to them both and say they were not in the right place to get married at that point in time. I don't blame her for being still angry at him and distrusts him. But I think this is how their relationship is tested and ultimately grows.
