Happy 2026 my friend! It definitely not up to the standard of the original but at least the "coroner-ing"is not as ludicrous as another similar drama... As for the hidden spy, its been done before many times but if they hide him/her well it still could work...

So far IMHO the best scene of S2 has to be Qinxiang's meeting with the young monk Jingyuan. It was sincerely written and felt sad and real. All the rest is seems contrived from the cases to the forced emotional conflict between the leads. I am super annoyed that after 3 years of marriage they are so out of sync they need advice from a brothel. I am interested in murder cases not some kind of potential equipment malfunction mental or otherwise.

Of course - and that may or may not be the case in this instance. We probably won't really know until S2 more or less finishes airing.

No one can really tell you at this point whether the S2 main case connects to S1. So probably best to just start with S1.

I am not a huge fan of the romance tropes so far either. The couple dynamics are sweet enough but some of the angst between them feels contrived. I wish they just focus on the crime solving without the conflict/misunderstandings.

There are certainly worse pages but it is not a race to the bottom. There were some pretty nasty comments and personal attacks on here as well. I remember blocking at least one or two users bc I got tired and bored by their hater rants.

As far as I know it’s not against the rules to rate based on an actors appearance positive or negative so while it reflects poorly on the reviewer, it’s still their opinion and a legitimate rating.
