Seems like lots of episodes may have been cut. And yeah lots of stuff doesn’t make sense. Liu Biwen still alive after being impaled through a door??? A runty kid managing to extricate him under the nose of the Huben and get him onto a carriage all by himself? This director seems to like to indulge in the stabbing version of falling off a cliff and not dying trope. Much higher level of suspension of disbelief is required. I tell myself maybe it’s a xianxia…🧐
I think the Mysterious Guy is the one that is advising the emperor Xiao Wuyang. He looks like the hooded figure…
Yeah I am only at ep 6 but seems to me that Huben grew too powerful, so much so to be a threat to the empire. Under Liu Ziwen it was fine but others saw its potential and schemed to seize control over it. That's where I am in terms of guessing the plot.
I'm wondering why Yan Fengshan keeps mysterious guy locked.. they should be on the same side.. 🤔
I think the Mysterious Guy is the one that is advising the emperor Xiao Wuyang. He looks like the hooded figure who advised the emperor to bring Huai'an to the capital in ep 1 or 2. The suggestion that it was Chancellor Gao looks like a misdirect. So he is probably not really that locked up and he may be not really in Yan Fengshan's side. Or he could be the main villain and not Yan Fengshan.
I can't believe LWT became a monk and then killed himself. It just seems out of character.
It was not that clear. She seemed fine and then she was dead. Similarly his dad just seemed to die. I was baffled - it was like they both willed themselves to die and then just did.🤡🤦🏻♀️👀
I'll never forget when I saw the name Jesus for someone. I commented to my kids and they all jumped all over me…
From my experience MDL accepts both English and Chinese sources as long as it is "official". I also submitted this change request late last night. I cited Youku's character introduction with the episode and time stamp which should be the most official source for the correct Pinyin of the name. They haven't accepted any of my other changes yet so maybe they just haven't gotten to it.
I have convinced myself you did a creative writing course in your life…. I feel educated after reading this…
Thank you for your kind words but I am just a drama fan sharing my impressions. You should go ahead and share your thoughts. Start with shorter write-ups and then go longer. It’s always easy to stay structured and organized when it’s short. And then you can build upon that.
The ending was anti-climatic. The final business plot was like Swiss cheese. Richards was too cardboard to be that good of a final opponent. I had to laugh at King Li's fabled treasure... waiting in the wings to bail out China in time of need. Did it fund the revolution???👀🤡😂. Overall a fun watch - have to appreciate the different period setting and the heavy shooting on location. Biggest weakness for me is that too many good characters didn't get wrapped up well.
