I agree with you, it kind of disappoint me because the drama main focus is about ML’s family. Maybe after they finish airing, I’ll re-watch assuming the novel doesn’t exist. Perhaps I’ll enjoy more.

Because that princess has set eyes on HFX and BFX is helping her to get rid of other candidates 😅 (in the novel, this event happen before HFX/BFX show their affection. So that princess ask BFX to help her to get HFX and she agreed to it - maybe in the drama they will change it a bit because they are kind of ‘together’ 😂)

LOL, hope u can see below why I like some of the changes they did in the drama:
- In ep32, it’s unlikely for him to get the white hair.
- novel proposal is not romantic at all (Lan Xi knows at that time Xi Yun is BFX), where Xi Yun just received a message from King of Yongzhao to ask for Xi Yun’s marriage for his son ie Lan Xi (romance is very little in the novel and at that stage I don’t think Xi Yun knows Lan Xi likes her). But the novel later mentioned about how Lan Xi asked his dad despite him hating the dad. Also he plants so many flowers to welcome her.
- In the novel, the brother already died at younger age. So drama is totally different.
I wish we can get a romantic proposal in the drama.

The novel is actually quite different in terms on how they approach the story (to be honest, I am glad they show more romance in the drama, since I am a sucker for that 🙈).
In the novel, there are 2 main wars, the 1st one is attack to Xi Yun’s country after her father passed away & she becomes queen (which happened soon after the other princess’ husband selection). After the 1st war, Lan Xi proposed (but not really in a romantic way, more like marriage between 2 countries) and then the second war took place where Xi Yun & Lan Xi are together fighting HC. In that war, Xi Yun got injured badly by HC (even HC feel so sad since he is confident Xi Yun will die). In summary to save her, he is willing to do anything including giver her his qi/youth until his hair turned white (I don’t know the right word 😂). It’s such a touching scene.

Hahaha so true. I have not fast forward any scene in this drama yet (which I have done in the Eternal love and many other dramas which I just want to know what happen next. I’ll definitely re-watching this with (1) forgetting the novel story alltogether and (2) focusing on my favourite parts.

In the trailer of her in the wedding carriage, Xi Yun’s expression is not the typical bridesmaid happy face. So I agree with you.. there will be a lot of heartbreaks leading to that scene.
