Just finished watching this.. wrote a review.. As a novel reader, I'm a bit disappointed. Even though, it's good enough, but I still think that it would've been better if they followed the details in the novel more.. The only good thing that was included in the drama but not in the novel is the scene when SY rescued XQ's mother and the implication after that.

I'd say, hang in there.. the romance will be better on the second half of the drama (hopefully, if they follow the novel).. but in the mean time, at least the actions are good..

I just started to watch seriously (though I have seen clips/spoilers till ep 21). I'm on ep 5 right now.. As much as I like SY, I think he kinda has abonnement issue (and it can be justified because of his history with XQ).. But, I kinda don't like his reaction about Suo Jun's plan to transfer job..

I haven't watched the drama seriously, but I saw the added scenes clips which are not in the novel (the training episodes).. and how SY was jealous when XQ was close with JY.. and I agree with you..
SY was cool headed and very decisive in the novel. He didn't say that he didn't like her, he offered her two choices and waited for her to choose. Not the "hot&cold" type like he seemed to be in the drama (during the training episode). Only after the earthquake that he finally gave in and decided to ask her to get back together because he found out how worried she was when he was burried.. he didn't want to waste time and for her to be sad again..
Honestly I wish that this won't be on the last episode.. what I regret about the novel, it didn't give them extra chapters after their "happily ever after".. really wish that the drama will give them some epilogue story..
I'm sorry to say about a disaster, but I'm waiting for the earthquake plot before seriously starting to watch the drama.. Hopefully they would at least follow the novel plot for that matter.. since the earthquake effect will become the turning point of their relationship..

Yang Yang seems often getting paired with his old friend from another drama.. Like Jiang Long played with YY in GOTSF and TKA.. or Leon Lai in TKA and WRTW.. and in this drama, like half of the cast has partnered with him from his old dramas.. haha

What I understand from the novel, she did like him at first, before she met Song Yan (I think). And the brother also liked her (still). However, she knew that it was impossible and not worth the trouble I think, that was why she gave up. Her brother on the other hand, still likes her. After she met Song Yan and was pursued by him, she wholeheartedly like him back and even carrying the torch until now. That's what I got CMIIW..
