Just finished the novel - I have tears in my eyes. A heartfelt love story. What a wonderful ending. I thought…
I had the same opinion too. this novel reminds me of Star Trails (Speed and Love) but I think I like that one better because Chen Yi here is the epitome of unruly, truly wild and untameable.. well at least until Miao Jing comes 🫢
Can anyone tell me (under a spoiler) how toxic the story is? Just need to know how mean the ccharacters get when…
I don’t know if they drama will follow the movel closely. I personally enjoyed the last part of the novel when they “ran away” to Colombia but I don’t think the production will go across the world for this drama 🤣
Large part of the novel is quite toxic for me. Chen Yi is wild, untameable, thus wild dog. He had a rough childhood, do all sort of things to survive after being abandoned by his “parents”. Miao Jing is stubborn as a bone, not as innocent as she looks, cunning. They are mixed family, abandoned since childhood with no financial support, so they are really poor. Then Miao Jing continue her study but after working for some time, she comes back under the pretence of audit but actually to mend their relationship. So toxic in a way that the ML is like a puppet without him knowing but at the end its just sweet I guess.
I think the hairstyle is a bit too modern. shouldn't his hair be shorter? and without bangs?
the hairstyle used too bother me too. I personally love the neat style of a republican man but someone was commenting that the hairstyle is a symbolism of his rebel attitude, kinda make sense, so I just rolled with it but I got the feeling that his stylist was adamant about this style, lol not everyone looks good as Bai Lu in short hair in Arsenal Military Academy 😂
Oh interesting that this novel is finally adapted but if the above summary is accurate calling it a loose adaptation…
is Siege in Fog good? I’ve read If We We Strangers (traumatising), plan to read Too Late To Say I Love You but knowing its SE, put it on hold. The author’s writing is quite good, but my simple heart can’t take much SE
ah i see your point… they are indeed alive and well 🤭
as someone who is easily invested-emotionally, I’m very disturbed by the toxicity of the novel. I can’t stop thinking about it for days then I forced myself to read another novel and watch drama to forget it. I secretly wish they have a second chance at love as I really wanna root for ML and FL but I dont think his casanova habit will go away plus both of them are terrible at communicating. urghh this is so frustrating.
